PPG Wave 2.2 / 2.3 / EVU Simulator
"Together with Paul Maddox, I [Hermann Seib] developed a hardware/software combination to drag the PPG Waveterm into modern times - Waveterm C. I haven't found the time yet to finish it - other projects, like VSTHost, consume too much of my time. Besides, the capabilities of today's average computers have grown to a point where it's relatively easy to simulate a complete synthesizer, with only minute differences, inside the PC. So... that's what I did. "

COMMONTONES - Roland MC-303 Demos
On July 1, I posted about COMMONTONES, a project by Sonicbrat, Eric, and LDT, in which they would produce a track once a week. The interesting bit is that each week the role of contributors to composer changes. Contributors will provide samples for the composer to work with. This week Eric will be the composer and LDT and Soncibrat will be the contributors. Title link takes you to a post by LDT which includes his contributions, mainly Roland MC-303 samples. You'll find the samples along with notes on the 303. You can find a post by Eric following LDT's post on COMMONTONES that pictures the additive soft synth, Morphine just recently posted here.

"This is a synthesis based live improvisation I've done at home. This 16+ minute set features the Doepfer A100 Modular System; Sherman Filterbank 2; and MOOG Little Phatty. All synthesis were created and done on the spot except for the LP which I've just used a preset to start with and did modulations and filtering along the way. Recorded on the KORG MR1000 and delay was applied post. It's a noise and synthesis based improvisation so it's not the usual music you'll hear on my myspace. Session was recorded with KORG MR1000."
You can find the mp3 here.

Sonicbrat - W E A V I N G
"The W E A V I N G project builds on the ideology of minimalism and improvisation. The album is meant to be listened to from top till the end as a sole entity of sounds and melodies. The sub-harmonics, subliminal changes in timbres and the play of sub-frequencies and hyper-frequencies will leave your ears ringing at the end of the sonic experience."

Robert Fripp Frippertronics
Title link takes you to a video of Robert Fripp demonstrating Frippertronics in 1979, on SoNiCbRaT. Anyone know if this indeed was the start of live sample based looping? Live being the key difference from previous forms of looping.
