Pixelh8's ZXSynth - ZX Spectrum Synth for iOS

"SpecSynth is exactly that, a tiny synth based on the wonderful ZX Spectrum which is now on the verge of turning 30 years old! All of the sounds you hear are actual samples taken from one of my real ZX Spectrums and all of the sounds were programmed by me. I hope you enjoy making music with this SpecSynth. Make music, make friends, have fun. Pixelh8"

New Sound Libraries for Kronos Music Workstation

"Korg Offers a Multitude of New Sound Libraries for Kronos Music Workstation

Melville, NY, April, 2012 - Korg is pleased to announce the availability of many diverse expansion libraries and sample sound libraries for the Korg Kronos Music Workstation, including the EXs13 Jazz Drums Expansion Kit, the EXs11 Legendary Strings Expansion Library, and two series by KARO, a sound design team based in Germany who has been producing high-quality sounds for Korg workstations for several years (including the OASYS and the M3). Korg welcomes KARO as the first third-party KRONOS sound developer.

EXs13 Jazz Drums Expansion Kit
This expansion kit for the Jazz Ambience Drums is included in the Korg Kronos presets, and contains approximately 1GB of PCM samples, 48 programs and 12 drumkits. The unique collection focuses on unique drum and percussion sounds created using a variety of techniques including mallets, brushes, and multi-rods. All sounds are easy to use, and will set off other instruments to their maximum advantage. Substituting these sounds on an existing drum track will also offer a dramatic difference through changing stick sounds.

EXs13 is currently available for download at a special price of US $199 (regular price is US $249.00)

EXs11 Legendary Strings
This collection delivers approximately 2.5GB of PCM samples and 128 Programs, for a wide vocabulary of string sounds. Choose from solo performances created on coveted instruments such as a Stradivarius, to the sound of a full orchestra. In addition to samples of individual performance techniques such as trill, vibrato, and pizzicato, the collection also includes ensembles offering differing numbers of players, providing everything needed for meticulous production work. Large samples allow the nuances of the performances to be captured, completing this ultimate collection of string sounds.

EXs11 will be Available for download in late April, for a special price of US $249 (regular price is US $299).

EXs13 and EXs11 can be downloaded and purchased at the Korg Web Shop: www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries

KARO's EXs Expansion Sample Series libraries span a wide variety of instruments and genres, including orchestral instruments and ensembles, vintage keyboards, ambient soundscapes, and much more. Along with Programs, Combis, and Drum Track patterns, these libraries include varying amounts of PCM data, which is played back directly from KRONOS' internal solid state hard drive.

Now available, prices range from US $49 - $249.

KARO's KRS Professional Sound Series libraries are collections of Programs, Combis, and Drum Track patterns that collectively take advantage of every synthesis engine within KRONOS. These large collections of synthesizer sounds, organs, dance grooves, and Wave Sequences each have at least 128 Programs; most have much more.

Now available, prices range from US $49 - $129

The KARO libraries are now available at: www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries Free demo versions of the EXs libraries can be downloaded; purchasing an authorization code from the secure Korg Web Shop unlocks full access to the libraries. Fully Restored Moog Sonic Six

"* MOOG SONIC SIX SUPER RARE!!
* VERSION 1 of Sonic SIX
* ALL ANALOG SYNTH FROM 70'S
* 2 OSCs + RING MODULATION
* PINK AND WHITE NOISE
* TWO LFOs WITH MASTER CONTROL
* WICKED MOOG FILTER
* EXTERNAL INPUT
* OSC/RINGMOD/NOISE/MIXER
* Original Speaker (Loud and working)

Fully restored Moog Sonic Six synthesizer by a specialist tech. It took about 4 Months to fully restore. The Tech said that there were two versions made by Moog of this sonic six and this is the very VER.1.. in which makes it even more rare.

Spoke with Moog to find out more about this synth and they told me that it is a rare item to behold especially fully functional one.

This synth has been stored away for a long time. As far as the condition the outside body looks a little scraped and a sign of rust on hinges but nothing too serious. Also missing one corner leg (see pictures).

The Inside is very exceptional. Very hard to believe when looking at is that it's 40 years old. The black/blue back plate looks almost amazing, it still has the plastic covering protectant fully in tact (except for a very small corner)
It's missing 4 slider caps, which can be purchased online. All other knobs are original. Surprisingly the original speaker still works and very well.

This thing is a beauty. The sounds that come from this unit are just raw and fat. I personally never played a synthesizer quite like this. The sound is very powerful and once the LFOs are engaged this synth turns into a FXs beast. The filter can be blended with the lfos so it gives a unique sound. The bass on the OSCs get very low. Also the OSCs have two different mixers. The tuning scaling is very good. The Octaves get very low and very high in range. Truly unique synth."

MODULAR 12HP MFOS KIT WAVE FREAKER Euro Kit

"BUY IT NOW IS FOR A EURO FORMAT PANEL KIT. IT IS TO CONVERT THE MFOS WAVE FREAKER [video here] INTO A EURO/DOEPFER COMPATIBLE MODULE. YOU NEED TO PURCHASE THE WAVE FREAKER PCB FROM MFOS

You need to build the Wave Freaker yourself and then use this kit to solder yourself a Euro Compatible Module.

I include the Black Panel, mounting bracket, washers, screws, and spacers. I have a picture of what is in the kit. EURO PANEL SCREWS ARE ALSO INCLUDED

There is (2) ways to mount the PCB using the Bracket. STYLE A: measures 5.25" from panel to back. STYLE B: gives you 1" space from panel but then takes up 4.75" going to the left.

Look at the pictures I used both styles. I myself had to use STYLE B and placed the Module next to other fancy SMT modules that where skinnier then 1" on the back.
It is possible to give more clearance for STYLE B but you would have to buy the longer screws yourself.

First here is the BOM needed from Mouser to use on the Panel Circuit:
(6) MOUSER# 16PJ138 (3.5MM JACKS)
(7) 100KB POTS MOUSER # 858-P160KN0QC15B100K
(1) 5mm T1 3/4 LED
(1) 1/4" SIZE LED HOLDER OR LENSE (HOLE SIZE IS 1/4")
(7) KNURLED KNOBS
(1) SPDT OR SPST SWITCH (HOLE IS 1/4") SO USE MINIATURE TOGGLE SWITCH
(1) SMT 10 PIN IDC HEADER. MOUSER PART# 649-95278-101B10LF
(2) PTC SMT RESETTABLE FUSES MOUSER #576-1812L050PR , THESE ARE OPTIONAL. IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO USE THEM YOU CAN SOLDER JUMPERS ACROSS THE SMT LOCATION.
(1)10 PIN TO 16 PIN IDC POWER CABLE. YOU CAN BUY ONE FROM EBAY OR BUILD ONE.

THE PANEL HAS TRACES ON IT TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR WIRING. YOU ONLY HAVE TO CONNECT (1) GROUND WIRE BECAUSE OF THE NICE TRACES I LAYED OUT FOR YOU. SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CONNECT ALL THE X1-X21 WIRES TO THERE LOCATIONS. I PLACED SMT PADS TO MAKE IT EASY. THE POTS LEGS GET BENT FORWARD TOWARD THE PANEL AND THEN GET SOLDERED ONTO THE PADS FOR A NICE STABLE MOUNT.
THE POWER CABLE ALSO GET SOLDERED ONTO THE BACK OF THE PANEL ON PADS. SO IN OTHER WORDS YOU CONVERT THE MFOS WIRES INTO EURO/DOEPFER 10 PIN POWER HEADER."
