One Day Left on Group Buy for Ian Fritz 4U Panels and New PCBs - Walls of Voodoo!

via Paul Appliancide on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge, via Uglysound Electronics

"One more day left on the group buy for Ian Fritz 4U panels and new PCBs. New PCBs are dual 2 Quadrant/4 Quadrant multiplier (switchable between VCA & ring mod), 4U/5U friendly LED slider board for the DoubleDeka graphic VCO, 4U/5U friendly versions of Chaotica, 4x4 and Wavolver II PCBs!"  On Muff's here.

And a Wall of Voodoo video below for these "walls of Fritz voodoo", also from Paul in the same Lounge post. Confused me too. Even more confusing is the Roland V-Synth at 1:24! They were ahead of their time. Minimoog and Prophet-5 as well.

Creamware / Sonic Core CS 8000 ASB

A mockup via Laurie in The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge

Of course Creamware made the Minimax ASB (poly Minimoog), Prodyssey ASB (poly ARP Odyssey), the Pro 12 ASB (SCE Prophet-5) and the B4000 ASB (Hammond B3).  A CS 8000 ASB based on the Yamaha CS80 would have been a nice addition.  The models in the ASB boxes were based on the models Creamware provided for their initial DSP cards.   I don't believe they ever had a model for the CS80 and I don't believe Sonic Core did either.  You can see the current list of Sonic Core Plug-Ins here.  With Arturia having entered the hardware synth market with the Minibrute and Microbrute, it makes you wonder if porting their software models to hardware boxes similar to the ASB boxes from Creamware would be worthwhile.

KORG Volca unboxing and test

Published on Mar 20, 2014 MiK-Music·57 videos

"I initially ordered those Volcas in December, but that store in UK deleted it silently for some totally stupid reasons. Okay, they ruined my xmas and lost me as a customer.

Some days ago, i found the set of all 3 for a nice price at a store in Germany and couldn't resist to finally get them.

Great toys, lots of fun, great sound (but a bit noisy). I wanted to overdub the audio track but i had several problems with the HD recorder, 3 takes went wrong due to some problems with it, 4th take stopped due to empty camcorder battery, in this 5th take i forgot to arm the channels for recording. Wasn't my day. But i will definitely not repeat this again, so it goes out with the sound as recorded from the camcorder. Sorry for this, i hope you like it anyway."

Cwejman AP-1 Audio Processor + STG Soundlabs COM

Published on Mar 20, 2014 bigcitymusic·315 videos

"In this patch example we've processed a microphone through the Cwejman AP-1 to gain 'breath control' over the Cwejman RG-6 clock to generate rapid bursts of gate via the AP-1's envelope follower. The patch is extended further by utilizing the envelope follower with a comparator, which allows triggers to be extracted from the transients of the signal that is being followed by setting a variable threshold in the STG .Com. When this amplitude of the envelope followed signal is greater than the threshold level of the STG .Com, the gate is open, and when the amplitude is less than the threshold level of the comparator, the gate closes.

In the second example at 03:15, a drum beat is run through the AP-1. The envelope follow function of the AP-1 is used to modulate the oscillator sync ratio of the Cwejman D-LFO. The envelope follower has been multed out through the comparator and when the threshold is crossed, the 4ms Pingable LFO is pinged which in turn modulates the cutoff of the Mutable Instruments Ripples which is processing the D-LFO."

I for some reason thought I was recording our Slope 114 set & in the heat of the moment failed miserably with the audio recording BUT luckily Elise & I recorded a practice session the night before so here is a link to that on band camp.
