Korg Kronos: Deep Ambient Space Relaxation Song

Published on Apr 10, 2014 Qui Robinez·46 videos

"In the past i've added a lot of melodic ambient tracks to my channel to show the potential of using a Korg Kronos for that kind of ambient / electronic music. This time i wanted to go deeper and see if the Korg Kronos is also capable of creating Deep Ambient Tracks.

In this song i'm using sounds from my sound set Magical Space and a voice from the Ghost ship QR program to create a deep relaxation track. All Sounds and Effects are created with the Korg Kronos.

For the people that are unfamiliar with deep relaxation music, relaxation tracks are ment to listen to entirely and let your imagination take you on a journey. The sound is just to help you get in a relaxed state. For youtube i included visuals with this song. Actually this is a 13 minute remix of the full album which is 2 hours long. There are three songs in this remix:
it starts with an intro track which morphes in some deep dark strings and it ends with some nice chords."

First Patch with the Mutable Instruments Frames,Tides and Peaks Modules (BoC Inspired)

First patch with the Mutable Instruments Frames,Tides and Peaks modules (BoC Inspired) from Richard Devine on Vimeo.

"First patch with the Mutable Instruments Frames,Tides and Peaks modules. This patch was inspired from the track 'Sunshine Recorder' by Boards of Canada. Lead drifting melody using the 'Tides' as an oscillator source, which is then being ran through the Tiptop Z-DSP processing with the 'Halls of Vahalla' card. Peaks running in drum mode, top output is the kick and the bottom output is the snare processed slightly with the Makenoise Phonogene, then ran through a Synthrotek 'EKO' set with a very short delay time. Braids running the 16th note high hats in 'CLKN' mode using the 'PIK' envelope setting. Sequence is driven by the 4ms QCD clocked from the 'Grids' sequencer which is also clocking the 'Peaks' kick and snare sequence. The other Braids oscillator running in 'Comb Filtered Sawtooth' mode as the dotted synth lines, triggered by the intellijel uscale. Low tone baseline created with the 'Edges' module, then being filtered by the 'Ripples' filter. Sequencing from the intellijel Metropolis. The output is then being sent to the MakeNoise echophon for a light delayed effect. This output is then split to the Qu-Bit Nebulæ running the 'Polyphonic Oscillator' mode which is creating the Pad harmony seventh chords to the root note. This output is then being sent through the Eventide Space. 'Frames' is being used as a quad CV source routed to first a intellijel Shapeshifter doing slow modulation changes to the 'A' shape input. Second CV source from Frames sent to the 'Sync' function to control the step to next wavetable. CV output three sent to the 'Shift' input on the the ADM04 Frequency Shifter from Audio Damage. The 4th CV output sent to a intelljel HexVCA, opening and closing the release time from the Blue Lantern Mr. Blue Noise (white Noise) washes.

Richard Devine & Nona Hendryx - Modular Performance at Berklee Performance Center Boston Tonight!

via Berklee.edu:

"Crossing Wires: An Evening with Richard Devine and Special Guest Nona Hendryx

Thursday / April 10, 2014 / 8:15 p.m.
Berklee Performance Center
136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02115 (view map)

Richard Devine is at the forefront of sound synthesis and electronic music. His ability to combine the world of analog synthesizers with the latest digital sound design techniques has made him a unique voice in the world of electronic music. This concert will feature Devine, students from the Electronic Production and Design Department, and the Berklee Interdisciplinary Arts Institute.

From her beginnings in the '60s doo-wop scene to her revolutionary, solo ventures in the art-rock and new wave genres in the '80s, Nona Hendryx could be called music's 'Queen of Transformation.' Hendryx found her start in the group Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles, whose fresh and tight harmonies had earned them a reputation as the 'Sweethearts of the Apollo,' and an induction into the R&B Hall of Fame in 1999. After signing to Atlantic Records, the group lost a member, but the remaining members reinvented themselves as what would become the iconic funk-rock group Labelle. In the '70s, Hendryx's empowering and socially conscious songwriting abilities helped Labelle earn three gold albums and a No. 1 platinum hit with the single 'Lady Marmalade.'"

The YAMAHA CS-50 is 4 voices of the legendary YAMAHA CS-80, said to be the ultimate vintage analog polysynth by many specialists.

This one comes with its 4 original metal legs and lid (lid has additional metal reinforcements as shown on 1st picture). The power supply has been fully recapped before the sale and the sound cards recalibrated. In addition to these, it is equipped with a tuning card* and a MIDI kit that has :
- all of the main features of the Kenton kit
- control of brilliance (cutoff) of HPF via CC or velocity or aftertouch (impossible with the Kenton kit. The Kenton kit only allows control of LPF !)
- control of LFO depth to VCO and VCF via CC or aftertouch.
- etc...
Full MIDI kit instructions are included
Kenton kit + installation sell for £612, here you have an even more developped MIDI kit which should then could be valued at at least £650. Meaning the CS-50 alone has a value of £1450 ! A true bargain...

*The tuning card installed allows you to tune the instrument yourself instead of going to or calling a technician to do it (like a guitarist tunes his instrument before playing...)."
