SCI Prophet 5 and 10 - SSM and CEM both together

video upload by Glen H

"Just some basic chords and impro with both Prophets at the same time. Straight into Ableton via SSL 2+ with a bit of Japanese Synth Hall reverb on both. Could probably use some mixing to balance the two but hey......"

MP Midi Controller w/ Built-in Screen for VST2/3 & AU Plugins

video uploaded by MP Midi Controller

Hardware MIDI controller for your DAW.

"The controller consists of hardware and software. Both hardware and software work together, with the software hosted within your DAW as a plugin, to create a unique workflow."

Details via MP MIDI Controller:

Control Software Plugins like Hardware

The MP MIDI controller consists of an 1920 x 1080 IPS Touchscreen display, the enclosure, the controller board and the 32 endless rotary encoders.

There is a big gap in the way we control software plugins in the DAW (VST2/VST3/AU) and hardware. The creative process degrades when you are forced to do things in series with the mouse.

Designing a sound on a hardware synthesizer is much different than doing the same on a software synthesizer.

The notion of reaching out and grabbing the control is more natural, and moving two controls at the same time allows you to try things that are just not possible with the mouse.

Utility Minute: This is Not Rocket Science (TiNRS) Switch & Ardabil

video upload by Making Sound Machines

"In this patch, we use This Is Not Rocket Science's Eurorack utility module Switch to send a stereo signal to three different effects - Endorphin.es' Milky Way delay, Happy Nerding FX Aid reverb, and a Touellskouarn filter. We then use Switch to switch between the characteristics of a filter."

Utility Minute: This is Not Rocket Science (TiNRS) Ardabil

"In this patch, we route a synth voice using This is Not Rocket Science's Eurorack utility module Ardabil. We’re sequencing a Befaco evenVCO with This Is Not Rocket Science's Tuesday, and using their Edgecutter as an envelope. We then add some movement, transposing the sequence with XOR Freestylo. Finally, we add vibrato using TiNRS Wobbler complex LFO."

Making an album in 2022, old school 80s style | Hardware MIDI sequencing and synthesizers

video upload by Espen Kraft

"Making an album, 80s old school style with the Roland MC-500 sequencer, Oberheim Matrix-12, Prophet VS, Juno-106 and Korg EX-800. Check out my workflow process as I arrange the songs and hook up the gear needed to multi track these to analog tape. This is a work in progress of one of the tracks and a glimpse into the though process going on.

Prophet~5 Tutorial: Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Japan

video upload by Alex Ball

"I had an opportunity to borrow a vintage Prophet~5 rev3.2 for a short while and, as I've done lots of videos on the Prophet, I thought I'd take the opportunity to create a tutorial showing three of my favourite uses of this classic synth.

0:00 Intro
0:53 Everything In Its Right Place Demo
1:21 Everything In Its Right Place Breakdown
3:21 Rhubarb Demo
3:53 Rhubarb Breakdown
6:39 Ghosts Demo
7:13 Ghosts Breakdown
9:15 Summary
10:05 Outro Jam

Note: Admittedly I'm busking the parts a bit as the video was more about the sounds, so excuse any not-quite-right chords etc.

The principals showns in the video will all work with a Prophet~5/10 rev4 reissue or a plug-in such as Repro-5 or the Arturia Prophet~V. They are also applicable to other synths that can replicate the architecture of a Prophet~5 (many synths can)."

Roland Fantom, ARP Odyssey, and UDO Super-6 make an appearance as well.
