YouTube via snevelin "I didn't play it by hand, just controlled the synths by a MIDI file of the song along with some overdubbing as they're monophonic. :P"
YouTube via bigcitymusic "Not only can the Analogue Systems rs260 quantize your analog sequencer's pitch outputs with superb accuracy, it also does crazy random arp stuff too! We took a slow triangle wave LFO and ran it into the Voltage Quantizer then ran the quantizer output into the rs95 oscillator 1v/oct input. The rs260 is nice too because it has two voltage inputs. The second input can be used to input a transposing voltage or in this case you can run a ramp up LFO into it and get more crazy modulations going. Start sampling!"
YouTube via dolphinicus "This is a VERY short video, of the 4 x 4 step's Semitone + Vertical and 1 x 4 step Octave sequencers, playing a 4 bar bassline from a well known dance tune, from many a year ago. ;)"
"This particular Fizmo is a very early unit, as you can see from the photos, it has no serial number or the usual nomenclature on the rear panel under Ensoniq. The operating system (OS) of this unit is 00:01 as shown in the display, the very earliest. The demo feature and the reset to original presets feature does not come up on this unit, due to it's early operating system. That may not be important to most people because they would probably program their own presets anyway. I also noticed that if you give it too many rapid commands or ramp the knobs really quickly it will sometimes freeze. You turn the unit off and on and it resets and its fine, it's in no way a chronic problem, but needs to be disclosed and it is a typical problem with Fizmos if either via MIDI or manually its given more rapid data than it can process."
YouTube via brokencircuit. Anyone know what keyboard she's playing? There's a shot of it at 2:51. Definitely a home keyboard, but I'm not sure which one. Theremin comes in at 1:38. "Music Video for "Music Is Happiness", by The Octopus Project."
"This file [AMonSinus.mp3] shows a single oscillator (sinus) where the level is modulated by an LFO (also sinus) on high speed. (Around 140 Hz). The oscillator is also FM-ed with a fast envelope to give it a little more punch at the start. Not bad at all for a digital synth!"
"Then again, nothing beats a good old Memorymoog :) Let the beast run a very slow arp, add an even slower delay and long reverb, dim the lights and voila! memorysphere.mp3"
You can find the sysex for the amplitude modulation patch here.
via this VEMIA auction "Very rare and sought-after, and in excellent working condition, serviced last week by James Walker at Synth Repair Services. 110/240V switchable. James' report: 'As you can see the unit is not in good cosmetic condition but is 100% functional (though the switch labelled Hiss Buzz has an extra stop (i.e. 4 instead of 3 ) which does nothing). The pics should show the damage to the rack ear on the right hand side (someone has glued it back on and painted over the crack). It seems to hold but I haven't racked it up. The other ear is missing the handle and as seen from the moog logo looks like it is a right hand panel on the left hand side.' These side panels were a clever design which was interchangeable, so maybe spares are still available. There is some scratching to the bottom left of the front panel - see pic - but otherwise the front panel is much much better than the sides! Copy manual can be included."
via this VEMIA auction "A very late entry, this incredibly rare machine has just been discovered in the storage area of the remains of one of the largest collections of vintage synths in England, if not the world. It is believed to have been fuly working before storage, but hasn't been tested since its re-discovery today. If there is a bid on it, it will be shipped (it has its own flightcase) to a competent tech for a thorough service and calibration, so will be sent to a buyer in perfect working order, with all the work done at the seller's expense. This means there may be a delay before it can be sent to the buyer, but that would be expected to be no longer than two weeks maximum. 110V US power supply, so transformer needed."
"ROLAND System 100,include here is model 101 Synthesizers,102 Expander,103 Mixer,104 Sequencer and 109 Speakers in superb mint condition... This vintage analog mixer is purely heaven send, the built in reverb is the most spacey one i'd ever heard,it send every note to galaxy that made the system 100 sound so unique and distinguish that absolute no other synth can touch.it also has separate line out for studio and livestage.the echo in- and output exclusively for RE-201 space echo. What can i said about the speakers?...you will hardly believe such huge puffed tone can came out from such tiny pair of speakers, you really need to hear to believe and wonder how roland did that."
This is another a demo of an do-it-yourself analog synth I designed and build. In this video I show different sounds.
There are five audio tracks in this demo. Except drums, all you can hear cames from the synth. Of course is a monophonic synth so I had to record each track at a time using diferent patches.
You can hear a "polyphonic" synth, I had to recorded in three takes, one for each voice of each chord.
Sequenced tracks are played via MIDI capabilities.
Mix without effects
Remember I just want to show the synth no my performance skills!!!"
YouTube via redmartian "Recorded at Hot Traxx (Garland, Texas) in 1993. Yes, I brought everything into a heavy metal recording studio in the back of an El Camino (thanks to Brian Rogers). Here is the equipment list: - Roland SVC-350 Vocoder - Roland Alpha Juno (bass line) - Sequential Circuits Prophet T-8 (additional bass and solo) - Sequential Circuits Six-Trak (lead) - Sequential Circuits Prophet-600 (lead) - Ensoniq Performance Sampler (ERROR 144 - REBOOT?) - SDF-3 running BSDI BSD/386 - Telebit Trailblazer TB+ plus (calling 'adaptex' over UUCP) - Pascal Blin (Official French Guy) - Drums sampled from Kraftwerk's Computer World record - Vietnamese vocal by Hoang Oanh from Hon Von Phu
The Telebit was sampled live in the studio because I did not have a SCSI interface on the EPS. The song was supposed to be released on an 'Analogue Heaven' compilation that never materialized and sat on DAT until 2004 when I remastered it and added Pascal Blin's vocal to fill in what I felt were empty spots. Pascal did not know what the words meant but was very concerned about pronouncing them correctly."
"I received the first front panels I ordered from Bridechamber a while ago. On the left you see a panel that is intended for a Yusynth Fixed Filter Bank. I also ordered the PCB and all the components for this module from Bridechamber since I didn't make that one yet, but I didn't receive it yet."
