ROLAND SH-3

"When is the last time you ever saw a Roland SH-3 for sale? I can't say that I've ever seen one on ebay. Sources vary on how many were produced, anywhere from only 40 to a few hundred, either way these are a true rarity. So what is so pecial about the SH3 qand why were so few produced? Roland infringed on the Moog designs for the filter and VCA, once they were caught they changed the filter and VCA designs to their own and released SH-3A. You can read more about that here"

"another demo of various synth sounds made live using the Juno 6 arpeggiator as a platform. I've also improved the microkorg strings to sound more like the vp-330.
I also got a nice effect from the juno 106 using it's portamento switch and LFO"
GSi Key Performer running on EEE PC
YouTube via zioguido.
"Key Performer is a new software virtual instrument capable of producing many keyboard sounds using several synthesis types, all in a single easy to use program. And the CPU hit is so "light" that even a 900 MHz EEE PC can run it offering about 100 voices of polyphony.
In this video all I'm using is an Asus EEE 904 with WinXP, a Behringer UCA202 USB soundcard with Asio4All 2.9 drivers, an M-Audio Keystation 88es and Key Performer as a stand-alone application.
It runs really smooth and sounds wonderfully on the little EEE.
Unfortunately the mpeg compression destroyed the sound... :-(
Please visit www.GenuineSoundware.com for more info."

Building a phaser part 3
YouTube via MusicMiK. follow-up to this post.
"This is a simple project - i will build a clone of the Small Stone phaser as a floor effects unit with some modifications to add some more control over the sound.
Dur to the simplicity of this project, i decided to document all steps, starting with making the PCB for it, ending with the tests. So not all videos appear at once, but i think this should happen within 3 weeks or so. Make sure to come back and see if new parts appeared with the time.
This is part 3 showing assembly of the boards."

Ensoniq SQ-80 CrossWave Synthesizer
YouTube via retrosound72
"vintage synth demo by RetroSound
some typical self-made and factory sounds from the Ensoniq SQ-80 Cross Wave Synthesizer from 1987;
SQ-80 = 75 digital 8-bit waveforms + analog curtis filter, Osc-Sync, Ringmodulation (AM)...
The SQ-80 is very underrated, easy to program and really nice for PPG Wave and Prophet VS like sounds but nevertheless particularly in sound. The perfect machine for ambient music or horror movie soundtracks.

btw My first vintage synth albums "Ambient Traxx" and "Electro Traxx" are OUT NOW! Track review on my homepage."
