TrebleSynth single chip modular synthesizer

video upload by profdc9

"This video presents the TrebleSynth modular synthesizer based on the Raspberry Pi Pico. It is a six voice polyphonic subtractive and FM synthesizer with MIDI USB and serial support. One can create instruments by connecting together modules and adjusting analog controls. All processing occurs on the Pico. It is open source software and hardware. You can find the project at https://www.github.com/profdc9/Treble..."

"The TrebleSynth is a "Modular Synth on a Chip" based on the Raspberry Pi Pico. It is a through-hole design that is easy to assemble yourself and uses only inexpensive generic parts that are widely available to minimize costs. One can create various modules on the chip and interconnect them by specifying which unit takes input from another input, assign the controls of these modules to potentiometers, and then adjust the potentiometers to achieve your desired sound. It also has a fully capable effects module on the chip as well. The modular synth supports six note polyphony.

The synth has a 25 key, two-octave keyboard (though external MIDI controllers are highly recommended, as the built-in synth keys are rudimentary and more suitable for testing). The TrebleSynth accepts notes over serial MIDI input and outputs the synth keyboard presses over the serial MIDI output. There is also a USB MIDI input/output, and notes can be played from a computer to the TrebleSynth over USB and similarly the synth keyboard presses are sent over the USB MIDI output. The are two jacks available for expression and selection pedals.

Being perhaps the most popular version of one of the most iconic monophonic analog synth series of all time is no easy feat, but the Moog Minimoog Model D manages to pull it off. As one of the first non-modular synthesizers, the Minimoog Model D is highly intuitive and requires very little knowledge to use. The model D boasts contouring circuits and three separate, completely original oscillators, one of which can be used as an LFO. Although the Model D was reissued, the '70s Minimoog Model D hasn't depreciated in value, desirability, or style.

Intellijel Introduces Atlantix & Atlx

video upload by Intellijel

Additional user videos below.

"This is the Intellijel Atlantix & Atlx

The Atlantix is the highly-anticipated successor to the Intellijel Atlantis which was originally inspired by the classic Roland SH-101—one of our all-time favorite synthesizers. Despite the SH-101’s seemingly limited architecture, it produces various creative and musically useful sounds that have inspired generations of artists and countless hits. The Atlantix is just as immediate for dialing in beautifully rich bass and lead sounds. Thoughtful design, numerous additional features, and flexible patching options open up a massive amount of new sonic territory to explore.

In this video, we take a first look at Atlantix and the Atlx Expander. More in-depth feature videos will be available soon."

Here We Are by ThorF

"So, here we are. Me and you, together in this very moment.Thank you for reaching this point. You make it all worth while. The music on this album, was written/recorded in the last 4 years. Everything ,except mastering, was done in my home studio in LA. To sculpt the atmosphere you are listening to I used various synths and efx. All hardware. Clicks & pops, mis-timed midi messages, live mistakes and other things :) It’s all on it. For few good reasons. It’s how the hardware I own, sounds. It’s how I play my instruments, sounds. From the computer that records the audio to the end of the FX chain.

The machines have character.
I hope their character gets delivered to your ears with these recordings.

PlayFader - Unique Twin Fader Performance Device - Sonic LAB Review

video upload by sonicstate

"Technomadic reviewed the *Play All Day Play Fader* , a colorful and eye-catching sequencer and MIDI controller with twin faders .

The Play Fader features a pair of faders and eight colorful buttons that allow for two-channel note or CV entry and MIDI functionality. The unit includes long-throw faders, tactile buttons, and six mini jacks for CV and gate channels. It supports synchronization through clock or MIDI.
The Play Fader is made from recycled plastic, making it eco-friendly, and the packaging is compostable.

The device can control various parameters with ease, offering features like scales, user-defined settings, and menu buttons for deep functions. It allows for real-time performance adjustments and modulation through various buttons like Fun, Time, Scale, Clear, and more.

Technodadic demonstrated how to create basic note patterns, set user-defined scales, perform basic sequencing, and use performance controls like roll, slice, and bend. He also showcased the MIDI functionalities, allowing for note and CC messages on different channels.

In conclusion, the Play Fader is certainly unique with an innovative approach to sequencing. While it lacks a USB port, its ability to inspire creativity and integrate into live performances makes it a valuable tool., although it is certainly a little on the expensive side."

Korg Ms-20 - True Duophonic Patches (without the wonk!)

video upload by ChrisLody

"I picked up a Korg MS-20 Mini recently because a friend was selling on (Hi John) and I've been nerding out with the patch bay. I already own the plugin as part of the Korg Collection but I've always wanted a hardware MS-20 of some description so this has been a long time coming!

Funny story, I've been looking around the internet since I got it looking for patch tips and general information, some of which has been really useful but I thought there might be more to learn than what I was seeing. So started searching for a good book on the subject and yeah there is a good book. Patch and Tweak with Korg, which I wrote and article about the Volca Modular and Korg MS-10 for and already own 馃檮 I'm a bit slow sometimes!"

Flux Vol 1 - Waldorf Quantum/Iridium - Patches 1 to 25

video upload by GEOSynths

"Out Soon.

So, I finally got round to making some Patches for the brilliant Waldorf Quantum and Iridium. While the Quantum has an Analog Filter, all of the patches use the Digital Filters only for compatibility with the Iridium.

There's 50 Patches in total for Flux Vol 1, however many use both Layers as well as using all the Synthesis Engines available. It does use some of my Custom Samples, which are Raw Oscillator Multi-Samples from my Moog One, Polybrute, Matriarch and many more. It also uses some of the Factory Sample Content.

The Sounds are very Atmospheric in the main, with a few other Categories of Sounds in the Bank, though Pads, Strings, Evolving and Motion Sounds, which is what I think the strengths are of this Synth.

I've turned "Off" the 'Bass Boost' and used the EQ FX instead as there's more control. Mod Wheel is assigned for all to multiple destinations for many Patches."

Madrona Labs Kaivo: Resonator Overview

video upload by Madrona Labs

"Kaivo is a software instrument combining two powerful synthesis techniques (physical modeling and granular synthesis) in an easy-to-use semi-modular package. It’s laid out a bit like an acoustic instrument; the GRANULATOR module acts like the player’s touch, exciting one or more tuned objects (here, the RESONATOR module, based on physical models of resonant objects) that come together in a central resonating body (the BODY module, also physics-based)."
