Vintage Classics //ARP AXXE a budget synth with flagship sound
video upload by Starsky Carr
"The ARP AXXE is still almost in the affordable ARP camp! Why is it held in such high regard when it is such a simple synth? Having ARP 2600 and Odyssey DNA means it was a budget synth that had the tone of the pro models.
One VCO, a single filter and LFO with just a lonely ADSR envelope - but it doesn't give a sh!t... it's a raucous and massive sounding orange devil with enough CV connections to play very well with a modern euro rack set-up."

Rare ARP 2600 Blue Marvin Discovery w/ Ryan Hawkins & Rob Rosen
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
Also see Rare ARP 2600 Blue Marvin Jam (w/ Cameron Graves)
"Join Ryan Hawkins and me for an in-depth look at an extremely rare ARP 2600 called the "Blue Marvin". It was the first ARP 2600 prototype created in 1971 before the later gray faced Tonus versions of the instrument were made for sale to the public. There are a lot of quirky physical aspects to this beauty since it was never really completed for final production, but in spite of that, it sounds magnificent! In particular, there is a type of harmonic distortion that it delivers only to be found on the original R.A. Moog modular synths from the late 1960's through the early 1970's.
You'll also hear the back story about how it was found in a post office, changed hands and then how it was restored by Ryan. We'll explore the front panel by comparing it to the first production Tonus model and also give you a Hands-on demonstration of the compelling sounds that it delivers. All music in this video is composed and performed by Ryan.

Rare ARP 2600 Blue Marvin Jam (w/ Cameron Graves)
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"It's always fun to perform with my good friend Cameron Graves aka "The Planetary Prince". I was introduced to Cameron and his brother Taylor Graves in 2008 by Jada Pinkett Smith when we co-scored her film, The Human Contract. We've remained friends and musical brothers ever since. We hope you enjoy this music that we created right before the cameras started rolling . We intend to make more of these synth jam videos in the near future.
We're playing the solos on an extremely rare ARP 2600 "Blue Marvin" which was a prototype for the Tonus ARP 2600 that actually went into production. The rest of the synths include a later model gray faced ARP 2600, an orange faced ARP 2600, the Korg ARP 2600 M, Moog Minimoog, Korg MS-20 and ARP Omni String Synthesizer. The drums are performed by my engineer Ben Rachlis on a vintage LinnDrum the he is processing through The OTO Biscut, Bim, Bam and Boom.
Please remember to like and subscribe to these videos. It would mean a lot to me and my dedicated and enthusiastic crew. Thank you to all for your support and inspiring comments!

"Join me at the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation booth as I take questions, help people program an ARP 2600 synthesizer, give tips, recommend practice techniques and patch / perform a few sounds. We also raffled off a ARP 2600 (signed by me) that was generously donated by Korg USA. It was a fun day at the ARP booth spreading the joy of programming and performing on vintage analog synthesizers.

One of my favorite tracks from the late 70s.
by Tubeway Army 1979
written and produced by Gary Numan
featured: Moog Minimoog and Arp Odyssey mk.3
This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on YouTube.
Thank you.

Mike Dean Building a Track Is Analog Synth Mayhem | The Process
video upload by Reverb
"Even if you don't know his name, you know Mike Dean's sound. The super-producer and "Synth God" solo artist is a pillar of modern music production. The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Madonna, Jay-Z, Christine and the Queens—these artists and more have made classics with Dean, and that's just his recent work.
Before that, he helped craft a whole era of Southern hip-hop with the likes of Scarface, Geto Boys, UGK, and Devin the Dude, after getting his start as Selena's keyboardist and musical director.
Ahead of an upcoming solo performance at Los Angeles' Wiltern Theatre on March 1, we got the chance to see the genius at work, learning first-hand exactly why so many artists seek him out.

I believe these are the MOS-LAB ARP 2500 modules.
"This is the second patch on the system.
A pity I didn't take care while recording, cause the recorded sound, its middle and bass frequencies components, is far to be true compared to the sound in the studio. I'm always too spontaneous when starting a session or a patch. I'll take better care for the next session, cause it's a shame when not accurate."
