"We present a demo of Things Motor, a brand new 'morphing rotor' effect plugin from AudioThing and Hainbach. Inspired by the Crystal Palace from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Things Motor allows two signals to be blended by two 'rotating gears', i.e. LFOs with variable rate and waveshape.

"Original retro-style synthesizer soundtrack on a segment of "Interplanetary Revolution" a surreal Soviet animated short released in 1924. Specifically, we use the segment from about 3:30​ to the end of the film.

Interplanetary Revolution was a short animated film created in the Soviet Union in 1924 by Nikolai Khodataev, Zenon Komissarenko, Youry Merkulov. It mixes cel animation and collage, and it notable for its trippy and surreal style.

Music by Amanda Chaudhary. All sound sources are fed through Wires, a plugin by AudioThing that recreates a 1970s Soviet-era wire recorder. You can see our demo/tutorial of Wires at https://youtu.be/H4iG8QkBnCc​

"Outer Space is a faithful emulation plugin of a famous vintage tape echo made in the early seventies.

As the original unit, Outer Space features a tape echo section with three playback heads and a spring reverb tank.

We have modelled three different tape frequency responses and saturations, along with all the analog imperfections of tape recording/playback.

We have also modelled the ballistic response of the delay rate (repeat rate) which can create eerie pitch shifts (due to the Doppler effect), one of the classic tape echo-based sound effects."
