via this auction

"For sale is an Octave-Plateu Voyetra 8 in excellent condition by Borish Electronics, a professional synth restoration shop. There were only a few hundred of these made and you almost never see these for sale! It responds to aftertouch and velocity, has tons of modulation, a sequencer, hard core arpeggiator and more!

All voices pass self testing and calibrate. All controls function as they should. None of the buttons double trigger and work just fine. None of the potentiometers are scratchy. This synth was recently serviced and updated by The Analog Lab and has an Analog Lab sticker on the underside.

The MIDI cables are included and in the pictures above. This listing does not include the Voyetra VPK-5 keyboard.

This is a Rev 4 based on the serial number. This version works with MIDI librarians like MIDI Quest Pro and has advanced SysEx. Earlier versions have a much more limited UI."

Jordan Rudess plays the Megawave, Obie One, CATO, and Triptych from Syntronik 2

Jordan Rudess plays the Megawave modern virtual synthesizer from Syntronik 2
video upload by ikmultimedia

"Watch Jordan Rudess plays one of the classic synths of Syntronik 2 - the Megawave. The Megawatt features the powerful wavetable synth sounds of the original Waldorf Microwave, a classic digital/analog hybrid. The Microwave was the heir to the PPG Wave legacy with its sweepable digital wavetables and Curtis chip analog filter. The unit we recorded is the most coveted Rev A version."

And a few more:

Jordan Rudess plays the Obie One modern virtual synthesizer from Syntronik 2

"Watch Jordan Rudess plays one of the classic synths of Syntronik 2 - the Obie One. The Obie One is our recreation of the innovative Oberheim OB-1, excellent at creating classic and fat sounding bass, pad and lead sounds. The new 4-pole slope in our O-Type state variable filter model in Syntronik 2 now captures the distinct difference between the 2- and 4-pole filter sounds of this excellent hardware synth."

Jordan Rudess plays the CATO modern virtual synthesizer from Syntronik 2

"Watch Jordan Rudess plays one of the classic synths of Syntronik 2 - the CATO. The CATO captures the distinctive analog sounds of the Octave Cat SRM and its SSM filter. The pure-analog tonality of this synth is huge, and its modulation capabilities allow for truly unique and stylized timbres. Able to create gigantic Moog-style basses, the CAT can also go in its own sonic direction with its clever oscillator sync implementation."

Jordan Rudess plays the Triptych modern virtual synthesizer from Syntronik 2

"Watch Jordan Rudess plays one of the classic synths of Syntronik 2 - the Triptych. The Triptych is based on the warm sounds of the classic Korg Trident with its separate synth, string and brass sections. The Trident was basically a 2-oscillator Korg Polysix combined with a convincing string machine with dedicated ensemble chorus and a paraphonic brass synth. It is a beast of a synth capable of a wide range of classic analog synth and stringer sounds."

Octave Plateau Voyetra Eight 8 Voice Analog Synth

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The Octave Plateau Voyetra Eight is one of the rarest and most sought after polyphonic analog synths ever made for good reason. These synths sound amazing. In my opinion it is the thickest and creamiest poly I've ever used and I've owned most of them. The design was way ahead of it's time and it's a shame Octave didn't produce more units which makes them incredibly rare. They pop up maybe once or twice a year for sale and get snatched up pretty quickly.

This V8 is in great shape. I have owned it for over 20 years and it has been in a rack all of that time. It was last serviced by Jeff Blenkinsopp who worked for Octave back in the day. The unit is working and sounding great. It will be very well packed because these units are heavy and delicate beasts."

Octave Cat analog synthesizer ambient drone

video upload by Jim Alfredson

"This past summer I acquired a non-functioning Octave Cat SRM monophonic analog synthesizer. It was only making slow clicks but the filter and noise circuitry worked. I spent about three weeks troubleshooting it with the help of some folks in the online synth community. Thankfully I was able to bring it back to life. I completely rebuilt the power supply, replaced about half the ICs, and all the capacitors. I also refurbished the Pratt Reed keybed and refinished the wood side panels.

It sounds amazing; like raw voltage surging through wires. This is a little clip I made just messing around. I'm looking forward to adding this little kitty to my music.

Reverb is the Reverb Foundry HD-Cart. Delay is u-he Colour Copy. A bit of FabFilter Pro-L2 on the output and that's it. Edited in DaVinci Resolve."

Octave - The Kitten - classic synthesiser

via this auction

"The classic Octave Electronics - The Kitten synthesiser.

Model 1214

Smaller sister to the Cat, this single oscillator mono synth sounds awesome. A very worthy alternative to the ARP or Moog's of its era (this one comes from very early 80's). Has the 'fun' of 2 sub oscillators for a realllllly deep sound.

This machines works great and had a full service last year. Cosmically in very good condition also as shown in the pics."

Octave Plateau Cat SRM II Vintage Analog Synthesizer (NOS) SN G1110

"* Vintage Cat SRM II, factory new, never used

* One of the first and best sounding analog synthesizers ever made

* Includes Glide on/off foot switch

* Includes original owner’s manual and original literature for Octave Plateau products

* For more information about the Cat series, Google "Fandom Electronic Music Wiki Cat Synthesizer"

The Cat SRM II synthesizer was manufactured by Octave-Plateau from 1980 – 81. It is the best and final model of the Cat synthesizer series, which included the original Cat (1976) and Cat SRM (1978). We have been fortunate enough to acquire some New Old Stock (NOS) from Octave Plateau’s last production run in 1981. These units have never been used and were safely kept in storage since the day they were manufactured. If you’re an analog synth aficionado, this is an opportunity to own an authentic piece of electronic music history.

Here’s what we’ve done to this unit:

Calibrated and thoroughly tested every function to assure everything works as designed.
Cleaned and checked all switches, pots keyboard contacts, buss bar and electronic circuits.
Replaced the keyboard rubber bushings on all keys.
Replaced critical calibration single-turn trimmers with high-precision multi-turn trimmers for greater stability.
Included a foot switch that plugs into the back of the synthesizer and turns on the glide function when the switch is pressed, allowing a smooth glide between notes only when desired.
Features:

Monophonic/duophonic keyboard plays two notes with memory function on second note.
Digital keyboard with single contact per key (more reliable than the dual-contact analog keyboard used on previous Cat models and most other analog synthesizers of the day).
Dual VCOs (CEM3340) with oscillator sync and mixable waveforms for complex tones.
Sub octaves on both VCOs for full, deep bass sounds.
Four-pole LPF (SSM2044) with adjustable keyboard tracking.
Versatile modulation system to create a wide variety of sounds.
LFO (with variable delay on sine output), S&H and dual envelope generators.
White noise generator.
Extensive expansion jacks on rear panel.
This unit has the original press-wood veneer sides with plastic edge stripping. It is shipped in a plain, unmarked box, not the original box. Although it has never been used, there may be some minor cosmetic imperfections, which is how it left the factory. Please refer to the photos for cosmetic details."

Introductions: The Octave-Plateau Electronics Voyetra 8 + Demo Track~

video upload by Vintage Synthesizer Solutions

"Please join us while we walk you through a brief introduction to and demonstration of the spectacular Octave-Plateau Voyetra 8 Polyphonic Synthesizer. The V8 is one of the most spectacular, but also one of the most unknown polysynths released in the 1980's. The V8 is an absolute masterpiece and we want you to be able to experience some of what this incredible sonic powerhouse is capable of. First demonstrated at the 1981 NAMM show, it was not widely produced until 1983. Consequently, there are several different revisions. It combines CEM oscillators with SSM filters like the Prophet 5 Rev 1 & 2. Less than 1000 were produced. Some say it is fatter than even the Jupiter-8... now you can decide for yourself.

***Stereo headphones or decent speakers/studio monitors are a must! All of the sounds you hear in this video and demo track were produced entirely with the Voyetra 8, with the only exception being the drums. The audio is dry, NO effects were used.***

Thank you for watching our video!"

Sampling the Cat's Meow 😻 (FREE OCTAVE THE CAT SYNTHESIZER SAMPLE PACK)

video by Perfect Circuit

"Download the FREE Sample Pack: https://bit.ly/2QvXsOq

Everyone knows and loves the Minimoog and the Odyssey, but there is another fur-ocious synthesizer from the late 1970s. The Cat from Octave Electronics is a compact, highly playable keyboard synth with all the hiss, growl, and purr you’d expect in an instrument from this era. But with a keyboard that can play duophonically and stellar cross-modulation potential, the Cat provides plenty of sounds that can bite!

Normally, we love to show off the sounds and capabilities of a vintage synth, but this time we wanted to try something a little bit different. We decided to throw together a free sample pack with some of the sounds we made in our afternoon with the Cat, offering all kinds of percussive and bizarre one-shot sounds to spice up your tracks. Meowza!
