The film version is by far more extensive than Thief CD version.
Enjoy that sequence !"

Curious what they were using back then. According to this thread, they used the following on tour during that time period:

Sequential Circuits Prophet VS Rack

"This unit is in very great and mint technical and cosmetic shape. It has OS 1.0 because version 1.2 has no free running lFO. An upgrade to 1.1 or 1.2 is possible with EPROMs. I left it on 1.0, because of v1.2 resets LFO with each key press making it useless IMO. This unit has a new OLED display and the synthtaste v2 PSU. It’s also recapped. Everything overhauling is made by Synthtaste professionally. The unit works great and it has only minimal scratches on the bottom."

Sequential Drumtraks Drum Machine Repair

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2023

Today I'm investigating issues with a Sequential Drumtraks. While it is making sounds, the display is glitching out and the control functions are not working. In the end it was only incidental I was able to get it working again, for reasons I don't fully understand. The same phenomenon happens with my Drumulator, that's how I knew what to check for. It's my hope posting this video, that someone more knowledgable will be able to comment about this phenomenon.

This video is posted for general information about my experiences. Always observe safety working on electronics, and never tinker around inside power supplies without first unplugging the power cord. If you're not sure about anything, there's no shame in taking your instrument to a qualified service technician.

Since filming the video, I've discovered the batteries are still made in Japan. Also, the numbers on the battery may or may not necessarily be a date code. My new battery says 2132, so maybe it was made in 2021? Since the manufacture date and date installed may differ by a couple of years, I now write a date on the battery with a sharpie when I install it."

Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 REV 1 SN 0132 w/ MIDI

"This is the very first version of the classic Prophet-5 synthesizer. There were reportedly less than 200 of these rev 1 Prophet-5s made, and some if not all of them were made in Dave Smith's garage. How many are working perfectly and a real pleasure to play today, like this one now is, after we paid our tech for around 100 hours of highly skilled vintage synth tech labor plus parts?

We bought this item from a customer who said it was working fine. We had a feeling it wasn't, because they never are. And we were right. The entire process of sorting out its tricky problems and rebuilding it to our high standards to work like new again (or better!) took around 100 hours. The resulting instrument is most likely the best functioning, feeling and sounding example of its kind anywhere. At this point, we have so much time and money invested in it that we're only going to sell it if we can get a small fortune for it. If you're just looking for any prophet-5, search our website for others and get a rev 3 machine. If you're a serious Prophet-5 head and you want the best rev 1 money can buy, this is a rare opportunity to buy one that was slaved over, sparing no expense, to work perfectly. If it doesn’t sell, we're fine keeping it and enjoying it in our studio. This unit has a Kenton MIDI kit installed that was originally designed for a later revision p5."

Pics of the inside below.

"Vintage Sequential Circuits Prophet remote for the rev 3.2 Prophet-5 and comparable revision Prophet-10. Uncommon 49 key, 4 octave C-C pratt-reed j-wire keyboard. Components look to be intact, but is being sold as is. The keyboard will likely need buss bar and j-wire cleaning as well as new rebound bushings.

the remote also has three wheels of which pitch self returns and a switch matrix similar to the Prophet-5/10.

Original leather strap and locks. Walnut wood end pieces. Serial number 4."

Sequential Circuits Prophet 3000 Rev B. 4MB Sampler SN 0210 w/ Sample Library

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is the rare Prophet-3000 Rev B 4MB model. The standard 3000 had 2MB, and few had 4MB out of the factory (although some could be expanded to 4). As such, this unit is a bit of a rarity.

The floppy drive is needs a cleaning. I am considering doing it myself, but obviously that makes me a little nervous. However, if you are patient with it the current drive will do. The controller works well too.

This unit comes with about 45 disks of sounds, many custom from the original owner. It sounds excellent, as only 3 samplers were ever made with both analog filters and 16-bit sample rates. Truly its a champion of its category."

Elektron MachineDrum ii Eproms inside a sequential circuits drumtraks.

video upload by Program 17

"Ok. I’m sick of the eprom wars. So I decided to make something totally new!!! I made binary files from a Elektron machine drum ii and programmed them for a Druntraks.

(Man I love this.) this is so cutting edge. And no one has this set. It remained a me of having a whole brand new machine. But a drum traks."
