The new Recombination Engine from Future Sound Systems is a triple analogue oscillator that flips out the positive and negative portions of waves to impose other oscillators bringing into sync, rectification and tonnes of other 'sonic FX' to the sound. "Having played around with and used the all flesh human capacitance pads in my Eurorack system for a while it was great to get chance to chat to Landscape about the new version of their HT-CC human controlled cassette tape manipulation and CV controller as well as hearing their Stereo Field create interference like noise and more. Both devices really warrant consideration and experimentation with audio in both the creation of sound and manipulation of it. Using your skin as resistors and capacitors makes you part of the circuit. Almost a human circuit bend if you will. I hope I can check these out in more detail in the future."

First up Pamela's Discotheque takes the Pioneer DJ Ethernet protocol/standard for clock syncing DJ and makes that compatible with MIDI DIN, USB MIDI and analog clock outputs at various rates so you can reliably sync DJ gear with your modular systems. There's the new Squid Salmple which is a multichannel sampler meant to be quick and intuitive for both sampling and sample playback. Finally we can now see Pamela (of Pamela's Workout fame) in the 4U Buchla format."

I really like the Z-DSP (as many of you know) and it's great to see others develop for that platform. Vertigo has some great sounds with stands out for me being the side chain hall and the BBD emulations with gorgeous grit and filter emulation on the feedback paths. SSSR Labs also have the new Wobla which is a $40 voltage generating fader for controlling your Eurorack system."

"Vaclav of BASTL Instruments is now performing as Toyota Vangelis (great name!) and his new instrument and module builds are serving him as a life performer with desktop units, vocals, CV/audio controlled lights and Eurorack modular synths. There's an update to the BASTL Skis, new mutes module, Thyme based looping and FX and some nice auto-tune vocoder vibe vocals from the live performance. After a quick run down of the new gear and the live set up we got a performance - ace!"

"USTA is the new sequencer from Frap Tools that offers 4 channels and 4 outputs per channel. Those 4 outputs are 2 CVs (definable pitch or unquantised voltage) and 2 gates (triggers, gates, ratchets etc). It looks like a simple interface for potential complex and musical patterns, chain patterns, variations, musical random with probability and variance control ... it looks great! Frap Tools call it the "voltage score" and with musical notation examples on the site I'm excited to see this unit out in the wild."

"Cristian Vogel is a British DJ and producer who currently lives in Berlin. In the 90s he worked with radio host Dave Clark on his first EP „The Infra EP“. It was followed by various releases, some on Mille Plateaux, also remixes for Thom Yorke, Radiohead and Maximo Park. Together with Jamie Lidell he formed the duo Super Collider.

The Danish Bjørn Svin also started to produce electronic music in the early 90s. In March 2019 his recent Album „2 Point 5 Step Pets“ came out, seven years after the experimental and relaxed „Browen“. Although „2 Point 5 Step Pets“ experiments with complex industrial rhythms again, Vogel and Svin are united by a shifting away from the dancefloor, heading to a more experimental approach to electronic music."

Lots of new PICO modules (analogue BBD delay, DSP drum voice, noise, new VCO + more) updated fusion series modules, new sequencer, cowbell for the techno/drum series, new input and two new FX modules ... it's a mouthful, or a finger-ful to type out! His MOG Distortion is a four band distortion and guitar interface that also offers click free on/off modulation for switching distortion in and out almost like a tremolo that can work through audio rates. There's also the new shaper that offers compression, transient shaping and sustain control (familiar to those on an SPL Transient Designer some of you may know). That alone has the potential for some serious dynamic shaping of percussion, FM patches, rhythmic drones and FX etc. I hoping I can play with one soon."

Shakmat Modular showed us this quick jam using their modules to quickly put together and tweak a sequence on on eurorack setup. The Four Bricks Rook is an incredibly fast way to put together a rhythmic sequence.

5. Birdkids Raven & Unicorn Boom Sounds SuperBooth 2019

Birdkids showed us their Raven two VCO synth voice module and their kick drum, the Unicorn Boom at SuperBooth 2019.

6. Winter Modular EME (Eloquencer Midi Expander) Jam SuperBooth 2019

Winter Modular played this jam for using their new EME (Eloquencer Midi Expander) with an Eloquencer to program in this sequence and manipulate it live. The EME allows you to sync the Eloquencer with external midi clocks, control settings and program sequences into the Eloquencer and send midi out from the Eloquencer to sequence non eurorack gear.

7. Casper Electronics OMSynth Jam SuperBooth 2019

Casper Electronics had a laboratory setup at SuperBooth 2019 and they played this quick jam for us so we could hear some of the sounds their synths are capable of. The OMSynth will soon have a eurorack version and the Dark Matter as always produced some great feedback distortion sounds.
