M2C Short Demo.mpg

YouTube Uploaded by fonitronik on Jun 30, 2011

"This is a short vid demontrating the basic functions of Dave Kendall's CMOS based MIDI 2 Clock Converter.
For the patch i use the M2C (controlled by Cubase), my new BinSeq (divider/attenuverter based sequencer), Boogdish's simple Quantizer and my dual X-4046 VCO (Thomas Henry).
For clocking the BinSeq i use the gate out of the M2C, the stop out resets the BinSeq. So each time i stop the Cubase sequencing software the BinSeq gets a reset. When staring the pattern from the beginning, the sequencer is in sync again."

Drum Synth I and II

YouTube Uploaded by bchris1776 on May 30, 2011

"I recently finished the second of my analog drum synth projects. The upper box is a Thomas Henry MPS (Mega Percussive Synth) along with Richarious Liquid Hi Hat, 2 Ian Fritz AD/AR and two simple VCA's, Foniks VC Pattern Sequencer and VC Clock a couple LFO's and a simple Mixer. The lower box is four Bass++ voices (Mr. Henry) and a bunch of CMOS for sequencing and dividing up clocks.
Many strange beats possible here - and a long time between repeats if I really get the VCPS and Logic working together! This is a very simple demo to give an idea of what it does. Much better sounds and more interesting beats are available!"

Drum Synth II

YouTube Uploaded by bchris1776 on May 20, 2011

"Just finished the wiring of the second drum synth (at the left of the picture) and mashed it together with the first - this is one of the first complete patches since I got it powered up.
The new synth has a Thomas Henry MPS, Rich's Liquid Hi Hat, Fonic VCPS and VC Clock, and two Ian Fritz AD/AR's with a simple VCA.
The previous drum synth (on the right) is the Thomas Henry Bass++ and various bits of CMOS for sequencing.
More to come after I box it all up and tied together..."

Synth.nl DIY Drum Module 2011

YouTube via Synthnl | February 11, 2011 | 4 likes, 0 dislikes

"Last year I build a drum module based on schematics from the 'Electronic Drum Cookbook' by Thomas Henry. I build it on breadboard but never got around to test it yet. Yesterday someone was filming my studio here so I couldn't work on my main desk for a while and decided to give the module a go. I hooked it up to my sequencers in the modular setup and got to test them in the process as well. We took some shots of this as well and last night I decided to make a little video from it. The noise coming from it is not spectacular but it was just a proof of concept. I made this video in Sony Vegas and that was also a test run for me. I plan to make more video's in the future for you to enjoy. The music on this video is from a track called 'Mercury' that a made for a sampler CD last year. You can listen to the whole track on my website. Look for the SchallPlatte 12 sampler CD."

VCO-1 and 8-Step Sequencer

YouTube via technoshamanarchist | December 11, 2010 |

"Thomas Henry's VCO-1 connected to a 8-step analog sequencer which is based on the famous Baby 10. For more information on each, please visit:

http://www.birthofasynth.com/Thomas_H...
http://www.midiwall.com/gear/babyseq/

Sequencer provides CV and Gate signals. I route the Gate to Linear FM, Exp. FM, and PWM. The VCO can output Sine, triangle, and pulse waves.

The camera angle is kinda lame, and the output is coming from a hi-fi amp + speakers. The music sux, but I think this VCO sounds pretty good :)"

Tremklad's Corner Analog Workstation

via Tremklad's Corner (see the site for progress)

"I'm waisting time these days on finalising an enclosure to house this Thomas Henry Drum Voice Synth or Quad Bass++ or whatever it's called and a Sound Lab Mini Synth. For the layout, I'm using Avery Clear See through Labels (prod no 15665 for laser printers). It's not as clear as I thought, frosted like, but the enclosure's color is on the light side so it doesn't show much.
I'm spraying a protective clear coat over everything since the ink doesn't really stay put on the labels. One important advise if you plan to use these labels for your projects, these labels will stick silly if applied on anything else than a powder coated surface, be warned, if you have the slightest offset an need to realign this label you'll end up with a mess..."

"I’m still wiring up the panels, but it’s almost completed. I need to order the fancy dials for the 10-turn pots on the Living VCOs, but they’re really expensive, so that may not happen soon. I’m also missing a couple small components that I’m ordering tonight. Overall though, I’m really happy with the way it’s turning out."

the jerkster vs mankato vs bindubba5

YouTube via cirtcele | September 17, 2010

"Warning - This vid has some flashing lights in it, if watching Pokemon makes you foam at the mouth and lose control of your bodily functions, you probably should not watch this. The flashing is caused by glitchy beta version FX software i was using....which i totally love.

This patch starts simply with bindubba5 driving a VCO, to give an idea of the basic pattern. After that the VCO Tri out is plugged into the Mankato VCF and the jerkster is connected to the Makato's Cv input.
Apart from slowing down the main clock, only the pots on the Jerkster are adjusted during recording. Please forgive my obvious lack of musical talent and appreciate the wide range of sounds and obnoxiousness you can get from simply tweaking the jerkster."

TouchOsc controlling Modular Synth

TouchOsc controlling Modular Synth from a guy called tom on Vimeo.

"TouchOsc iPhone app sending osc data into PureData Extended, where it is converted to midi and sent to the Doepfer MCV24 which converts it to voltage and controls the modular synth.
TouchOsc XY Pad controls the pitch of two Thomas Henry VCO-1 which also crossmodulate each other.
TouchOsc Sliders control Elby Steiner filter cutoff, Plan B Model 10 env cycle speed, Doepfer BBD feedback and delay. Thomas White LPG used in both mode for amplification. Delay is a Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai. Sorry for the video quality, its done using a photo cam.
Using TouchOsc is fun, there is a lot of control right at your fingertips. Actually it can control way more than i have to control :) Really cool app. Disadvantage is the steping in the control voltages that you can hear quite well, especially when controlling the pitch of oscillators. Not sure if its the midi resolution, the mcv24 or the application itself."
