Ambient Liveset (Home Concert 59)

"Welcome to the 59th edition of my Home Concert series. In this set I present five new Ambient tracks. I used a few instruments, which I had not in my studio for a while. Like the Moogerfooger Ringmodulator, the Modular system and the Waldorf Microwave 1 (in the rack off screen). Music was arranged in Bitwig using midi for the hardware synths and also a few software instruments. My main controller is the Midi Fighter Twister with a script for Bitwig.

I thought that was rust on the front panel, but it's actually what remains of the orange Nextel paint.

From the listing:

"This synth is in excellent functional condition, the original LED screen has been replaced with a brand new one.

This is one of the early units with the Nextel paint finish, which naturally degrades over time. The Nextel finish has mostly rubbed off, showing a bright orange paint undercoat. Some of the knob markers are hard to read and/or have rubbed off."

It's interesting that the print on the panel remains.

"It may just be my perception, but Blofeld seem to be a bit under the radar for most people. Maybe it's just because they've been around so long now, but definitely consider taking one for a test drive if you come across one. Its palette is wide, but of course it excels at digital, metallic, and icy sounds and textures. Editing isn't very hard to do and the modulation matrix was surprisingly powerful. If you've got analog ground covered and want a new dimension in your arsenal, these are pretty cheap these days, so check it out! I also recommend the Modal Argon for a similar vibe. "Afternoon session with Fenix II & III, Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR-6, Waldorf Q.
To make it sound better I'd need to spend way more time on this patch, at least to mix the different voices properly, make a decent beat, play some notes by hand and so on, but I can't because of my health, so I'm posting this here and now."

Other featured gear: two DIY drumboxes, #Yamaha #FB01, two #TX7 detuned and hard panned, #Dyncord #DRP15, two Ibanez BBD delays and a Dynacord #VRS23."

Phonosomes Genomics Sonification Workstation (teaser)

"Phonosomes is my personal software for DNA sonification experiments.
It reads file from my genome (or any other standard genome FASTA file) up to 20000 nucleotides or 6666 codons and uses them to control the Waldorf Iridium. The Ammino Acids sequences control notes' pitch, velocity, scale, transposition, probability as well a synthesis parameters.
This is the evolution of my genomics soundart started in 2018/19 at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.

I'm working at performances for 2024/25 and fundrising for scientific equipment I need to further evolve the process.

"As usual the only way to use the Maschine + is in standalone! Not really but its the way I enjoy it the most. This time using it with the Waldorf Iridium. Lots of FX, 3 instances of Massive and 1 of Monark. There is a arp of Massive which took up a big chunk of CPU, did'nt want to re-sample it though. Re-sampling of the Iridium.

"A 4-minute uptempo jam for the first video of 2024! 🎉 May all your wishes come true this year!

The Arturia Keystep Pro (KSP) is sequencing:
- the PADS played by the Waldorf M through the Elektron Analog Heat MkII (using mainly its analog filter modulated by one of its LFO) + Rooms reverb + Pill ducking pedal (triggered by the kick from the TR-6S).
- the BASS played by the Moog Minitaur. I used the 'Chain' patterns of the KSP to make a long bass line.

The DRUMS are being sequenced/played by the Roland TR-6S (I used its onboard filter on the master BUS for the builds).

And the LEAD sound played in real time on the Roland S-1 synth, through the Red Panda Particle 2 granular delay."

The new soundset offers 64 "Cinematic Dark Sequences" and impressive soundscapes can be created in no time at all. A unique skill of Kevin Schroeder's that no one can quickly imitate and which Hans Zimmer has also appreciated time and again. Kevin Schroeder has once again provided his sounds and sequences for the current blockbuster "The Creator" and one or two patches were actually used in the film.

Kevin Schroeder „DejaVu Sound“ is an international sound designer. He has worked with Trevor Morris, Paul Haslinger and Hans Zimmer on various film scores such as Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun Maverick, James Bond and Dune 2020. His sound sets for Iridium and Quantum (OS 3.0 and higher) are a real enrichment and allow a direct entry into the world of "film music.
