12 modes of for controlling your mutes are available:

1A: Trigg Invert: Instantly flip mute states with a trigger.

1B: Gate Invert: momentary flip mute states with a gate.

2A: Turn Off: Momentarily silence all channels with a gate

2B: Wave On: Progressively unmute channels as a CV rises.

3A: Binary Counter: trigger to increment a 6-bit binary sequence, turning mutes on/off.

3B: CV to Binary: Transform a CV signal into a 6-bit binary pattern, precisely controlling the state of each mute based on the CV value.

4A: Trig Rotate: Shift mute positions with a trigger. each trig shift the mute position one step further.

4B: CV Rotate: Shift mute positions with CV control. at 0V the mute are in their original position, at 5v mute will be shifted 6 position forward.

5A: Trig Sequencer: Control a step sequencer who invert the mute state where the playhead is. each trig will move the playhead one step further

5B: CV Sequencer: Control a step sequencer who invert the mute state where the playhead is. at 0v, the playhead is on the first mute, at 5 V on the 6th

6A: Randomize: Shake things up with a trigger that scrambles all mute states.

6B: Random solo:each trig will turn off all the mute exept one selected randomly
Beyond the Modes:
Freeze & Override: if you long press one off the mute, it will be freezed on bypassing the swap function on this track

The Intellijel Mutamix

"Introducing the Intellijel Mutamix, the successor to the now discontinued Mutagen.

I went through many iterations and design changes to arrive at this final version (hence the long delay). Some of the designs involved elaborate integration of VC mixing, panning and bussing (based on the requests of many users) but the design became way too complex and convoluted. I have ended up with something that I think is unique and will allow for some creative applications (especially with regards to CV) but it is not necessarily meant to be a traditional audio mixer. I plan to make another companion product that will be purely focused on audio in the future (mono/stereo, panning, aux sends etc.).


So here is how it works:
In "NORMAL" mode all the buttons at the top act as mute on/off switches with a single click. The leds in the slider illuminate to indicate a muted channel. If I double click I will SOLO the channel and that channels led will flash on/off. I remain in SOLO state until all channels are unsoloed.

I can save the state of the muted channels into 6 possible locations (and recall them) by pressing the [SAVE] or [LOAD] buttons for about 1 second.

If I activate [KILL] all inputs and outputs are muted and all the leds flash at a rapid rate. Pressing any button will immediately exit KILL mode and return to the previous state.

[GATE] and [PULSE] allow me to select whether a corresponding channel MUTE CTRL jack toggles mute on/off (PULSE mode) or the channel is gated on/off (GATE mode) when the controlling signal is HIGH. On the mutagen this mode selection was done via jumpers on the back and the gating was inverted.

[XMODE] is a special mode. In XMODE single clicks of the buttons no longer toggle muting. Instead they instantly recall a mute state preset (the 6 possible memory locations that you would have stored using the SAVE function).
In addition to this, all of the MUTE CTRL jacks now become XMODE controls:
CLK: cycle through all the presets in a given direction (default forward) on every pulse
RESET: Start back at preset 1
DIR: toggle the direction that the presets cycle through
RANDOM: every pulse selects a preset at random.
INV: the current mute state is inverted (i.e if channels 1, 3 and 5 are muted then after a pulse, 2,4, and 6 are muted and the rest are unmuted)
MUTE-ALL: no matter what the current state, all channels are muted.

With all of these functions it becomes clear you can turn the Mutamix into an unusual sequencer!
For example: I could take a steady voltage source and feed it to a Buff Mult. I then take the 6 outputs of the buff mult and patch each one to one of the Mutamix inputs. Now the sliders will act as attenuators for the voltage and allow me to set a pitch cv level. If I then program 6 different presets where on each one only one channel is unmuted, cycling through the presets will give me a traditional pitch sequencer (although it is 6 stages).
It becomes more interesting if I replace some of the steady DC sources with audio or lfo cv and I store presets with more than one channel unmuted. Now I would get a weird sequence where different modulations are unmuted on different steps to get a very complex modulation control.

"Solist is not your average performance mixer and mute combination - far from it. Designed in collaboration with Bries, Solist contains four channels of soft vactrol muting, controlled by tactile and pleasantly clicky mechanical switches. Filters
New comb filter (codes 3321/3322). RESO = damping, CUTOFF = delay time, with optional pitch tracking. Ladder filter reworked — now true multimode (LP/BP/HP) with higher quality. Ladder LP (331) is the new default filter. State-variable filter retains LP/BP/HP modes (341–343) but with improved gain staging, resonance, and cutoff ranges.

"This is our long due Eurorack Clock module, featuring multiple sections for a combined total of 8 independent trigger outputs.

Introducing standard time signature musical notation along with the possibility to generate syncopation, irregular tempo ratios and phasing all at once in a single straight forward unit.

We started by programming an extremely stable digital clock with over time drift compensation and adjustable to any Beat per Minute [BPM] up to 1 decimal case (from 0.1 to 250.0 BPM). Also implemented a Tap Tempo button and Pingable input for syncing to external clocks using either Soft or Hard [SYNC] modes.

The Time Signature X/Y section defined as [Beats Per Bar] / [Beat Unit] and generating 4 outputs triggering at every: Beat, Bar, Odd Beat (1,3,5...) and Even Beat (2,4,6...).

A [PAUSE] button sets the Pause/Resume state of the clock also allowing different sync methods on Resume.

A [RESET] button resets either each or both the Main and Phasing Clocks

A Divider section can be set to any beat division in Linear (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) or Exponential mode (1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128)

The Phasing section features a totally independent clock that can run in two modes:
[TEMPO] running at a slower/faster bpm phasing in and out of tempo against the main clock.
[OFFSET] running at the same bpm but offsetted/delayed against the main clock generating a steady syncopated beat.

A Tuplet section allows the generation of Triplets, Quintuplets, Septuplets and Ninelets with adjustable [LENGTH] or Span of the tuplet to any number of Beats from 1 to 16.

4 Modes allow different [TRIGGER] and [MUTE] functionalities: they can run in a loop or one shot mode, [TRIGGER] always triggers/resets the Tuplet and [MUTE] can be set to Gate On or Gate Off. Tuplets always output irregular divisions of the Beat and allow Polybeat generation.

A Swing Delay section allow to delay 1 Beat at [Every X Beats]. The [Delay] knob sets the delay in a fraction of 1 Beat, this section also allows the generation of syncopated beats.

More specific settings can be changed in the [SHOW/MENU], menu functions are labeled in gold.

All sections feature they’re own monitor LEDs.

By default Display shows the current Time Signature status.
Pressing the [SHOW/MENU] button sequentially will display each sections settings.
After 3 seconds it automatically returns to default Time Signature status.

All settings can be saved to a single memory slot, upon startup the memory state will be automatically loaded.

All Knobs and Push-Buttons have their own CV/Trigger inputs except the [BPM] encoder and [SHOW/MENU] button."

Sequencer
CARBON is primarily designed as a pattern-based sequencer. It has six tracks which can each hold 64 steps. Steps can be generated randomly, edited interactively, or recorded from a MIDI keyboard one step at a time, or in realtime while the sequencer is running. Polyphony and CC recording is supported so each step can contain chords or other performance data.

The fun begins once you've got some notes playing back on a track. Choose a region to play back, say, the first 8 steps. The track will play those same 8 steps over and over. Now move to another track and record a new sequence. This sequence can be a different length, or play back at a different speed. It can even play backwards while the other sequence plays forwards.

Remix with Patterns and Scenes!
The real power of CARBON is how variations of sequences can be made. By simply turning the PATTERN control, different steps in the sequence can be enabled and disabled. The patterns will surprise and inspire you by creating new rhythms and motifs with a simple twist of a knob. These are all based on your original sequence and can be changed at any time.

Adding in the concept of scenes lets you quickly switch between different parts of a song or different variations. Scenes can store the range of steps to play, the pattern, track mute state and a number of other parameters. Switching back and forth between scenes offers endless performance potential without ever missing a beat.

The best part of the CARBON sequencer is that all the recording and editing can be done in real-time without ever stopping the sequencer.

Meet MIDINA - 16 Track Polyphonic Midi sequencer and Recorder / Song Arranger

"Hi all... meet MIDINA :)

She's a 16 track polyphonic midi sequencer and recorder / song arranger that can record pitch bend, MIDI CCs, and aftertouch. She's got 128 songs, 16 blocks per song, and 16 tracks per block.

Each block can be up to 2048 steps, and each track can be up to 2048 steps. Blocks automatically sequence at the end of the previous block, and you can jump freely between any blocks by tapping them in the scroll menu. Each block can have its own set of 48 program change messages to trigger new programs in sync with the block changes. You can change songs with no load times and no hitch. She's got 30 NeoPixel MX switches that can be freely customized or changed, 8 push-switch rotaries, a 5" touch AMOLED screen, and the software is going to be fully open source from day 1. The unit seen here is the first tactile prototype, but I've started production run for the first batch and I'm getting ready to launch it next month.

It's been a year of hard work and this is the first tune I've actually gotten to make, I'm excited to be able to make music again and not have to focus so much on the software and hardware side of things. I'm a little bit out of practice, it's hardly a perfect performance, but it's always fun! Thanks for listening in and checking it out :)

I set out to build a sequencer which fits my own production needs in a live environment, and I am happy with what it currently offers.. At the same time, I know it can do much more over time, and I am excited to iterate and improve as the days go on.

New Doepfer A-157 Trigger Sequencer Subsystem - Mini Schaltwerk

"A-157 is a trigger sequencer subsystem that is used to generate up to eight trigger signals controlled by a 8x16 LED/button matrix (some customers call it "Miniature Schaltwerk" as it is based on the same matrix as the no longer available Schaltwerk). The system is still in the prototype state. Consequently the specifications on this page are still preliminary !

The subsystem will probably contain several modules:

the LED/button matrix module A-157-1
the trigger output module A-157-2
one of the control modules (A-157-3, A-157-4 ...)
The LED/button matrix module A-157-1 is the core of the subsystem. It is used to set or reset the trigger event on each of the 16 steps of each of the 8 rows.
The trigger output module A-157-2 outputs the 8 trigger signals and has an LED display for each trigger. We will probably add a mute button or mute switch for each row that allows to turn the trigger output off/on independent for each row.
In the final version the modules A-157-1 and A-157-2 will be probably merged into one module only because both modules are essential for the subsystem.

The module A-157-1/2 (or the merged module that will contain both units) can be connected to a simple control module or a more sophisticated control module which is planned for the future (similar to the A-155 and A-154 conceptual design where the A-155 includes a simple control unit that can be replaced by the A-154 which offers a lot of additional functions).

At the beginning a simple control module A-157-3 similar to the A-155 control unit will be available. It offers only the functions clock, start/stop and reset (both with manual controls and control inputs). For this standard control unit the tempo (clock) is the same for all 8 rows, the direction is forward and the length of each row is 16.

We also plan a more complex control module A-157-4 that allows additional functions like 128 memories for trigger sequences, different clock/start/stop/reset for 2 or 4 groups of rows (e.g. common for rows 1-4 and 5-8, or in pairs), independent first/last step for each row, independent direction (forward/backward/pendulum/random) for each row, one-shot mode, LC display and so on. But these ideas are very preliminary and we will have to find out which functions are essential.

There are also plans for a stand-alone version adapted to the design of Dark Energy and Dark Time with the same case dimensions and wooden side panels (provisional name "Dark Flow")

"Superb analogue drum machine dating from c1983. In excellent condition and working order following an extensive professional service.

These are uncommon in any condition, but this only the second example we've seen that works as it should. It's a ground-breaking historic analogue drum synth with onboard sequencer, designed to link up with either a Sinclair ZX81 (UK) or Timex 1000 (USA) personal computer to provide computer-programmed beats for the first time ever.

This example is in excellent condition - it has a few minor scuffs and dings as you would expect but it is looking great for its age.

Functionally it's in great working condition and it's wonderful to finally be able to program one of these machines - we've had several over the years, but most fail to retain programmed sequences for more than a bar or two before crashing. We must add the caveat that as this machine is based on ancient computer technology, we can only offer limited guarantees as to its future operating state: it works now, but we can't offer any extended warranty beyond a guarantee that it will arrive in working order: if there is any problem at all on delivery, please email us immediately.

Capable of a range of quality analogue drum synth sounds and, being one of the less-common and seldom-used drum synths, it immediately has an appeal if you're looking to stand out from the crowd.

This English drum synth/computer, designed in 1981 by Clive Button and launched to great acclaim a year or so later, was revolutionary but alas very short-lived; there are few surviving examples to be found in any state, let alone good working order. Originally used by Depeche Mode, the MPC-1 failed to replicate their successes and hit the big time and sank without trace, unlike its later namesake - Roger Linn's famed MPC series (no connection). It has an 8 bit processor and a massive 4kb of onboard memory to store programmed beats - these can be loaded/dumped via the tape in/out interface (not tested).
