UVX-10P recalls the last true analog synthesizers from the famed masterminds behind the Juno and Jupiter series, delivering a lush and extravagant analog sound. A fully-programmable interface lets you dive in and craft your own patches—utilize our high-quality amp and multimode filter designs, multiple effects, LFO, step modulator and much more.

In 1985 the world was introduced to the JX-10, a 12-voice, 24-oscillator analog synthesizer par excellence and the last true analog synth of its lineage. Following in the footsteps of the JX-8P and JX-3P, the Super JX was fashioned with a sparse aesthetic. A lack of knobs made the system a bit of a chore to program but an external controller (the PG800) could be attached, cheerfully reuniting synthesists with the immediacy and rapid programming speed of the ever-popular Jupiter and Juno lines. The JX-10 is known for an immense and capable analog sound, even some digital textures; it's simply a magnificent synth. Programming capabilities were equally rich with independent control of 2 DCOs per voice, 2 EGs, 2 VCFs, onboard chorus and even a sequencer (albeit a limited one).

UVX-10P was designed to deliver on all of the strengths of the JX series with none of the weaknesses. We started with a pristine JX-10, MKS-70, and JX-8P and set off, tirelessly programming and sampling these beauties in high-resolution through a world-class signal chain. As with the UVX-3P we made every sample twice, with and without the built-in chorus, providing an authentic and versatile foundation. This sonic backbone paired with the UVI Engine results in a lush and extravagant analog sound; faithful to the hardware with a modern studio bite. UVX-10P delivers a fully-featured and fully-programmable interface sporting ADSR control of our high-quality amp and multimode filter designs, multiple effects, LFO and step modulator, a tediously crafted library of 150+ patches and even original wave samples for you to create your own programs with.

Loaded with 111 patches, Fluidity explores the continuous states of movement, flow, and passage through time. The sonic explorations in Fluidity evoke a sense of natural motion and calming beauty, dazzling with small lights of technical wizardry and an ear for detail that is uniquely Simon's.

Fluidity is organized in 7 categories including Electronic, Mallets, Sequencer, Soundscapes, Strings, Water, and Wind. Explore lush pads, glittering arpeggios, moving leads, incredible soundscapes, washing textural sounds and more. In addition, every patch is configured with between 7 and 12 macros, allowing for deep customization, performability, and sonic range. German WaveFrame Corporation AudioFrame Flyer

Another fascinating bit of synth history. Don't miss the UVI demos below. This is the first time the WaveFrame AudioFrame has been featured on the site.  There was a controller for one featured here, and it was used by Barry Schrader and mentioned in my interview with him here and one previous post here.

This one was sent my way via swissdoc: "I just scanned my mega-sized German flyer from 1988/1989 of the WaveFrame Corporation AudioFrame. It is 600x600 dpi an weights in as about 32 megs. You can find it here [or check out the images of the complete pdf in this post - click each to zoom in].

It is similar to Fairlight or Synclavier and was kind of the first DAW. The system is still supported by http://www.waveframe.com

UVI has an instrument based on it.

"Back in the 80's the WaveFrame Audioframe was the second generation of mega samplers, in line with the NED Synclavier and Fairlight CMI. A complete 48-voice system would sell for over $100,000, and at the time the feature set was worth it! The Audioframe was used by renowned artists like Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder and by leading sound designers and foley artists.

The UVI WaveFrame Sound Collection isn't a massive library dredged with tens of gigabytes of super high resolution wave files - conversely, it's a lean and mean library expertly crafted after the original, weighing in at just over 350 MB.

As you can hear in the demos, size isn't a factor for this library. The collection contains a multitude of very useful and organic sounds such as keyboards, guitars, basses, solo strings, string sections, upper brass, lower brass, brass sections, woodwinds, synths, pacific rim, percussion, drums, effects and test tones.

Emulation II features a set of unique instruments to reproduce that typical music from the 80s: from warm digital sounds to the most analog-ish textures.

True Synthesizer Innovation
An epic instrument both in design and capability, this machine is an audacious synthesizer that seemingly came out of nowhere in 2000. A play on the word "ASICs", this beast took the world by surprise and redefined the capabilities of the analog polysynth, with 16 dual-osc, dual-filter voices using custom ICs, and 16 multitimbral parts.

Capable of both cross and ring modulation, and loaded with both SEM and Ladder-style filters per-voice, numerous LFOs, highly-flexible envelopes, a powerful mod matrix, built-in effects, and generous hands-on control, this synthesizer is a sound designers dream, and to this day a potent, massively capable instrument that feels well ahead of its time.
