Mopho Keyboard is Coming Soon in Yellow!!!

Yes!!! I was actually rooting for yellow. :) No word on if there will be a black version.

I am so getting one of these. I can't wait. I played with one at NAMM and loved it.

Details

via Russ

Remember the poll? Black slightly edged out, but yellow definitely had support. I wonder what leaned Dave Smith to yellow.

Update:
"The voice architecture and general specs are the same as the Mopho desktop module. Enhancements include programmable feedback gain, additional arpeggiator modes, and the ability to set the slew rate separately for individual sequence steps. (Yes, the latter two features will eventually find their way into the other products in the Mopho/Tetra/Prophet family.) It features a semi-weighted keyboard action with velocity and aftertouch. And it has great feeling, two-shot, soft-touch knobs.

The eagle-eyed among you may find it odd that a monophonic synth has a unison on/off parameter. When paired with a Tetra, Mopho Keyboard makes a very compact, very powerful five-voice poly synth!"

DAVE SMITH MOPHO

via this auction

"Mopho is a compact and affordable—but powerful—monophonic analog synthesizer. The voice architecture is identical to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of unique twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional girth and crushing basses. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho's own audio output back in pre-filter for feedback effects that can range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk. The Push It button is a manual trigger that lets you play a specific note or latch notes and sequences on. It can also step through a sequence to play short melodic lines without a keyboard. Of course, Mopho can also be used with a MIDI controller or external sequencer."

Dsi Mopho x4 for Auction with Mini Review

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"The mopho x4 is like a mopho on steroids. The presets really show off the power of this synth, the unison sounds can rip your head off. I prefer this over the prophet 08, i'd take a mopho x4 any day of the week over that synth. It does killer bass sounds, snappy envelopes. Killer resonance that sounds very 3d and wet unlike digital synths that sound flat and 2d. Analog is still the best for resonant and fat sounds. This is the perfect budget synth to get an analog to compliment a software or digital VA studio. It is not super moog fat, but it is fatter than most roland analogs. Pads are great, Bass is amazing, arps are amazing, the sound fx are great, the weird sequencer pattern modular like sounds are really cool as well. For soundscapes you cannot go wrong either. This is my favorite new Analog polysynth for sure.. I give this a 9 out of 10."

Dave Smith's Mopho Keyboard // First Impressions & a Comparison to the Novation Bass Station 2

video upload by Jorb

"Decided I would break the camera out and bring you along for my first sit down with this keyboard, the DSI Mopho.

You'll probably see it as a recurring theme in what I choose to share, I want to do my best to find and share gear that is either under-appreciated, or wrongfully out of people's discourse and recommendations.

Essentially every positive thing people say about the bass station 2 can be said about the mopho keyboard, and the prices aren't dissimilar, yet, it's almost never brought up.

If you have one, stick around and you'll see some more coverage.

If you're looking for a new mono synth, maybe keep it in mind as you browse Reverb.

Thanks for watching, always more to come."

Mopho Keyboard v Bass Station 2 // The Value of Intuitive Design

video upload by

"Frankly, if this was a less busy week I would've reshot this.

This topic is something I would like to explore more, but only with examples that I would consider to be close. What's the value in comparing a matrix programming synth to one with knobs over and over, right? I want a fair fight, how about that."

MoPho, Machinedrum, Korg ESX, Novation Circuit + Roland TR-8 techno jam

Published on Sep 23, 2017 anode8

"I have some new tools in the arsenal that I'm beginning to explore, including the Elektron Machinedrum UW and the DSI MoPho, in adddition to the usual suspects of the Roland Tr-8, Novation Circuit, and Korg Electribe SX. In this video, the TR-8 is the master clock and provides hats, snare and ride, The Circuit is sequencing the MoPho plus adding some percucssion sounds and one layer of the kick, the Machinedrum is providing kick, hat, and some other percussion, and the Korg ESX is providing a layer of gritty percussion. Effects are from the Mackie ProFX12 mixer and the Zoom m50g pedal. I'll be investigating the mopho and machinedrum more in future videos, as I'm incredibly happy with the way those two sound right now. Thanks for watching!"

Messing with Mopho keyboard and Pigtronix Infinity

Published on Jul 18, 2013 rudeog·28 videos

"Messing around with the new Mopho. Sorry about the motion, I'm not used to the head mount camera (GoPro Hero 3). Hope nobody gets seasick. This is a Korg ER1 thru a Korg KP3. Dave Smith Mopho keyboard thru a Rogue analog chorus, Behringer vintage analog delay and Digidelay and then the Infinity Looper pedal. You can also see my home made breakout pedal that gives the reverse capability. Send on the mixer is a Hardwire RV7 reverb pedal. No other FX or EQ were added. As you can tell, I love the reverse on the looper and the aftertouch on the Mopho. Everything is midi synced."

Grain Bastard - MD, Mopho & Samplr Snow Jam - Jan 2013 from Grain Bastard on Vimeo.

"Hello,

The snow came and stranded me at home so I had a jam with my MD.

Got Genome synced up playing some synths and Samplr playing some loops I made earlier.

Sorry for the screen reflections, I wanted to see the snow, lol!!!! I'll try and sort a better cam angle for future videos but space is tight....

I even ventured out during the day too :)

For more info contact me via www.soundcloud.com/punisha

Hope you had as much fun in the snow as we did!!!

Peace."

Grain Bastard - MD, Mopho & Samplr Jam 26/12/2012 from Grain Bastard on Vimeo.

"Hi, I had an Elektron MachineDrum for Xmas so I had a quick jam on Boxing day with it hooked up to my DSI Mopho & the wonderful Samplr app for the iPad. Samplr has no midi options yet (please add midi-sync!!!) so I tried to sync it manually. Even though I matched the tempo (115bpm) on the devices, one of them (I suspect the ipad!!) drifts worse than a knackered old belt-drive turntable, so apologies for sections of questionable 'looseness'... (you might want to skip a couple of minutes in as I get better!! lol) - it's also a bit repetitive because of having to spend so much time with the sync but I had only had the setup for one day, so hopefully future vids will improve :)

Thanks for watching, if you want to contact me there is an email at the end of the vid and if you want to hear more goto :-

Peace."

yr3wk46 mopho juno 6 improvisation

yr3wk46 mopho juno 6 improvisation from longcat on Vimeo.

"blue sky, clouds, mopho & juno 6 x

the mopho being a sequencer, the 1st sequence going to the 1st oscillator, going up in octaves, then down...

the 2nd sequence going to the 2nd oscillator going up in 5th's,

slightly different lengths between the 2 sequences,

i'm controlling the pitch of both oscillators or just changing one of them... swapping between the 2-pole and 4-pole filters, changing the clock (sometimes twice as fast) and of course the cutoff / resonance of the filter...

the juno 6 being just it's beautiful synthy self...

the music was recorded on friday 1st may, the sky footage was shot a week later on the 8th may, only an hour or so before my brand new baby niece charlotte was born..."
