KORG miniKORG 700Sm | Superbooth 2025

"At Superbooth 2025, Korg unveiled the miniKORG 700Sm, a compact reissue of its first analog synthesizer, the miniKORG 700S. Staying true to the original’s warm analog character, the 700Sm adds modern enhancements, including dual oscillators, an updated Traveler filter without physical stops, and a joystick for expressive pitch and modulation control. New features include a built-in spring reverb, ring modulator settings, a multimode arpeggiator, and 14 patch memory slots. It also offers USB, MIDI, CV/Gate, and sync connectivity. Around 86% the size of the original with a 37-key slim keyboard and aftertouch, the 700Sm balances portability with classic sound, and comes bundled with a soft case and software package."

Korg Berlin Phase 8 Finally Ready For Production | Superbooth 2025

"At Superbooth 2025, Korg Berlin unveiled the finalized design of the Phase8, an innovative electro-acoustic synthesizer that merges mechanical sound generation with electronic control. This instrument features eight independent electromechanical voices, each utilizing a tunable metal resonator struck by an electromagnetic actuator, allowing for dynamic and expressive sound creation.

The Phase8 offers advanced sound-shaping capabilities, including envelope control, waveshaping, tremolo, and audio modulation. A built-in sequencer with polyrhythmic capabilities enables complex rhythmic patterns and evolving sequences. Connectivity options include MIDI in/out (via mini jacks), CV input, sync in/out, USB, and a single audio output, ensuring compatibility with various setups"

Teenage Engineering Field System Goes All Black | Superbooth 2025

"At Superbooth 2025, Teenage Engineering introduced a new black colorway for several devices in its Field System, creating a more unified look across its portable production tools. The updated lineup includes black editions of the TP-7 field recorder, TX-6 mixer, and CM-15 condenser microphone. The OP–XY sequencer, which was already available in black, remains unchanged, while the OP–1 Field synthesizer, also part of the ecosystem, retains its original silver finish.

The Field System is designed for seamless integration and mobility, offering a modular setup for musicians and producers who need flexibility on the move. All devices are battery-powered and use USB-C connectivity, allowing them to function both independently and together. The new black editions maintain the same technical specifications as their predecessors, now with a consistent visual identity across most of the range."

"The Frap Tools Magnolia is an 8-voice analog polysynth that marks the Italian brand’s debut in standalone keyboards. Unveiled at Superbooth 2025, it fuses Frap Tools' modular DNA with a modern, expressive design. Each voice features dual oscillators, combining West Coast-style thru-zero FM and wavefolding with East Coast-style PWM, and dual analog filters (HP/LP). Magnolia offers polyphonic aftertouch via a premium Fatar keybed, intuitive modulation routing with LED feedback, and flexible bi-timbral modes including splits, layers, morphing, and onboard sequencers. Expected to launch in summer 2025, it promises deep sound design with hands-on playability."

"Al Green aka. Boddika and also one half of Instra:mental has been in this room for nearly 20 years. Green has been an influential producer and DJ throughout the UK dance/club scene for many years. From his work alongside childhood friend Damon as Instra:mental, his solo work and close affiliation with Swamp81, to a string of collaborations with Joy Orbison. These days he still occasionally writes and releases dance music but also works on sound design and music for other projects. He also offers tuition/recording/mixing services from his studio. Every piece of music he has been involved with has been recorded in this room. Today he is giving us a quick tour of his studio (The Zoo) in its most recent form."

Tiptop Audio´s ART aims to be nothing less than a patch cord revolution. At the Superbooth 23, the manufacturer showed us the new format. Chords, melodies, harmonies and polyphony in the Eurorack - all over a single cable. According to TipTop statements, they have been working on ART for over ten years. There are also first concepts for ART-compatible modules."

"Jim from MOOG Music Inc brought a Mother-32 and a DFAM with him to our studio session during the Thomann Synth Reactor 2019 event. Ever wondered why you can’t find any videos on my channel featuring MODULAR synthesizer that requires patching through cable wiring? Go ahead and search my 700 videos and you’ll quickly realise that I haven’t made any videos on Modular synths requiring virtual cable patching either (well there’s is one, but it’s not about a synth per see). I simply do not like the wiring-like workflow that these types of synths call for. Now, you have to see this one though because Jim here is tasked with ... changing my mind. Can he do it?
