James Song - An Improvisation by MyOneManBand

Published on May 12, 2016

Gear list further below.

"This is the first of a series I will be making in response to the sheets filled out by the audience of my last TEDx talk.

........................................
About Me :
MyOneManBand is the name I give to the live improvisational electronica that I create in real-time out of sounds from many instruments, often using a mixture of organic sound sets such at classical guitar, marimba, dulcimer, kalimba, accordion and drums with synthetic textures electronic percussion, beeps, bleeps and hiss.

I make music to please an urge that exists within me to see what is possible to accomplish on my own with no pre-recording or backing tracks. I came to this way of working through the live-looping process using audio recording tools such as the Boss Loopstation and Echoplex Digital Pro, but I now find for the main part that MIDI is more flexible for what I do as it allows the musical structures of my work to remain flexible in real time so I can add and strip away layers in a non linear way.

I also make music to take my own small space within the context of the many great artists who are also working in the field and as such I am on a journey that does not expect reward financially or through the more conventional measures of success, but rather I hope to find value in my work through the people who I meet through its undertaking and the ideas and thoughts that they bring into my life.
I am therefore always eager to engage with my views through critique, help or just to talk geek for a while...please...never be afraid to get in touch.

Thanks very much for watching, if you like my work , please consider subscribing to help me continue to spread my work to like minded people.

Audulus Breakthrough - The Interlacer & The Audonome Grid Sequencer From Bimini Road

Bimini Road - Audulus Patch - The Interlacer (Preview)

Published on Nov 10, 2015 Bimini Road

http://audulus.com/

Music: 'Greenish Blue' by Jody Golick - made entirely in Audulus"

Some additional info in via Mark Boyd of Bimini Road:

"This is the interlacer I built for Audulus - it will allow you to stitch tens of thousands of control signals into one monophonic signal, and then unpack them elsewhere in any number of sub-patches. You can control multiple fields of lights, function selections with knobs, and midi key input, all through the same monophonic connection. The result is a very low overhead and a vast simplification of signal flow.

This needed to be developed for a project I'm working on called the Audonome, which will be a grid sequencer with user-programmable functions. You can think of it as a developing platform - a blank canvas. It will be able to parse a momentary press, a double press, a held press - all to activate different functions. It will have layers like a Tenori-On does as well. (Pictures of the Audonome with another patch called the binary gear below).

Audulus 3.0 is really going to take off as far as what people realize is possible in Audulus. It's not just a modular synthesizer program - it's an environment for invention and exploration. It strikes a beautiful balance between programming and hardware electronics design."

You can find more of Mark's creations for Audulus here.

Marooned by Mark Mosher

"Instrumentation: 90% Nord Lead 4 Synthesizer (performance instrument with all original signature sounds), 5% Octatrack (performance sampler for original field recordings/samples and on-the-fly sequencing), and 5% Tenori-On (performance instrument and on-the-fly sequencing)

Music inspired by Louis and Bebe Barron

Artistic process inspired by Joan Miro, Clyfford Still, and Darwin Grosse

"Marooned is an original cinematic electronic soundscape. I think of it as a score for a film yet to be made. An Earth ship crashes on a massive moon and the only hope for the crew's survival is making it across a harsh landscape to an alien outpost for a first, and uninvited, encounter.

This soundscape is in the same universe and is a prequel to my alien invasion concept album series Reboot, I Hear Your Signals, and Fear Cannot Save Us. Unlike the first three albums which contained shorter composed and often groove-based songs, this album contains a single long-form recording combining electronic tonalities and abstract expressionist music.

This work is an example of live sonic storytelling and was recorded in one pass (with no prerecorded sequences, overdubs, or edits) after weeks of improvising and rehearsal.

New ELECTRIBE 2 Review! Part - D MIDI control, feat TENORI - ON

Published on Jan 12, 2015 VJ FRANZ K

"World's First? Tenori-On controlling Electribe 2! A Great Combination!
This is an example of using external MIDI input to control the Electribe 2, you could also use a laptop, iPad or some other type of sequencer. This is just a simple "proof of concept" but I go into a lot of detail about both these machines - if you are a fan of either, this how-to discussion will interest you!"
