DOZE - Ambient Modular #6 // Arbhar, Moog Subharmonicon
video upload by David Falcon
"doze
verb (uk /dəʊz/ us /doʊz/)
to have a short, light sleep from which you can easily wake up.
David.

The feeling of this "vacation" week is one of accumulated fatigue, sick children and not finding a moment to disconnect.
This track is a bit of a reflection of that feeling, an endless loop and constant little distractions.
The technical part it is quite simple: a sequence of three notes in the Moog Subharmonicon that I process in the modular. The Instruo Arbhar acts as a granular effect and reverb, and the Subharmonicon transients trigger the capture in Arbhar. Quite sporadic use of the Qubit Prism.
Sit back and relax from the stresses of life for a bit.
Thank you for listening.

DAYS - Ambient Modular #5 // Arbhar, Analog Four mkii, Take 5
video upload by David Falcon
David.

Today I tried something that I have wanted since I acquired the Arbhar and that is to use the Follow mode to timestretch the samples. For this I have sampled in the Arbhar a recording that I had on a dictaphone of an acoustic guitar.
I couldn't resist and added a lead with the Take 5, with a preset that I think is my favorite of the ones that come from the factory, a bandpass lead.
During the initial recording I used a bass line on the Analog Four but in the mixing phase it wasn't present enough so I doubled it with the Take 5.
Very happy with the result, I hope you like it.
David."

SEED - Ambient Modular #3 // Arbhar, Analog Four mkii
video upload by David Falcon
"Third piece with Instruo Arbhar. In this case I have created with Kontakt six chord samples with Olafur Arnalds' Chamber Evolutions, which have a lot of movement simply by sustaining a chord. It is two tracks overlapping, one with the Evos and one with the waves.
The idea was to make several parts going from one chord to another, or with a slow scan recreate the chord sequence, but finally by exploring only one of the samples I created this. It was not necessary to use more. The possibilities of this module are incredible. In this audio, Pamela's New Workout is very important. It is sending a pentatonic sequence to the 1v/oct input of the Arbhar and is what creates the melody.
There is a fairly subtle lead with the Analog Four mkii that contrasts quite well with the orchestral samples in my opinion.
I have called this piece Seed because these days the germ of an album idea has emerged... Let's see where it takes me. Thanks you for passing by!
edit: In the video I mention that the reverb is the internal from Arbhar but that is not the case. The Arbhar goes through the Analog Four external inputs and the reverb is added there."

VAST - Ambient Modular #1 // Arbhar, Moog Subharmonicon, Octatrack, Matriarch and Guitar
video upload by David Falcon
"It's been a while since the last video...
While I have continued to do my musical experiments I have not been able to find the time to record and edit these videos. During this time I have sold a large part of my collection of pedals to keep those that I consider essential, or at least those that I enjoy the most. Which has led me to want to start exploring another vast world, which is that of modular synthesizers.
Since I smell that this is another drug worse than pedals, I have limited myself to a 62u Intellijel 'skiff'. I have a very clear and concise setup idea: a sampler (Arbhar) and modules that complement it, whether control (Pamelas's New Workout at the moment) and effects (for now I don't have any, I'm processing the sound in the Octatrack and Ableton). The idea is to be able to capture any sound from the studio in the Arbhar and use it as a starting point for granular synthesis.
In this particular clip I'm using a voice sample, another metallic percussion sample, and a Subharmonicon drone. I couldn't resist and added a lead on the Matriarch and acoustic guitar. It's probably the starting point of a more complete song but we'll see.
Thanks for being on the other side!"

One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
This Is Not America by David Bowie and the Pat Metheny Group from the year 1985. Soundtrack of the movie The Falcon and the Snowman
Written by Pat Metheny und Lyle Mays
Featured the Oberheim OB-X (1979) and the Moog Source (1981)
This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers."

Sequential Pro 3 Explorations
video uploads by David Falcon
Playlist:
1. Generator v1 // Generative Ambient // Sequential Pro 3
"Some say that it is a modular system within itself and well, it is amazing all the modulation options with the Mod matrix. I started with a generative patch and progressively added modulators to the modulators, on an Eurorack kind of way to (hopefully) make a more interesting pattern. The sequencer is on paraphonic mode with 3 independent lines on random mode, over G minor and D minor chords."2. Opening // Sequential Pro 3, Elektron Digitakt, Guitar
This track to me sounds like the opening of a horror show or a thriller. Nearly a year since the last of these videos. Many proyects and a kid after I can sit and play again, make little pieces with no objective in particular.3. Android Dreams // Digitakt, Pro3, Push, Minilogue xd
Pro 3 is mostly holding a chord with its sequencer moving the filter cutoff around as well as other parameters. On the Digitakt I have loaded a bass line and sparse notes from Pro 3, as well as the usual stuff. Small improvisation on a Minilogue xd off camera, and towards the end I activate the Arp Latch to continue playing. The push is controlling the Arturia Pigments on a preset that reminds me pretty much to the Binding of Isaac's soundtrack.4. Dark Drones for darker times // Sequential Pro 3
We will never learn from the mistakes of the past, there is always a minority who will jeopardize everything we fight for every day...5. Ambient Glitches // Digitakt + Sequential PRO 3
Love making these glitch beats to build pieces on top. The Sequential Pro 3 is so good for these genre! Also, shining lights.6. NEW SYNTH DAY // Sequential Pro 3 + Digitakt + Pigments
"I finally took the plunge and got one of my dream synths, the Sequential Pro 3. A mono/paraphonic beast that makes every other synth I've owned look like a toy. The only complaint is that I didn't go for it much sooner.
Of course one of the first things that I had to do was to put it to work in conjunction with the Elektron Digitakt. Of course they get along great.
There are several sounds like the pluck and the sub bass that come from Arturia Pigments, the first improvised with the Digitakt chromatic keyboard, and the second sequenced. There is also a choir sound from Ableton Live sequenced from Digitakt.
The beat in Digitakt has a "hidden layer" with conditional triggers assigned to the fill button, which triggers a sub kick, as well as several extra percussive sounds.
The first of many videos with this keyboard.
Enjoy."
