Moog DFAM+Labyrinth 50 Combo Patches + Samples. Sound Demo
video upload by Anton Anru
"đ„ 'Modular Impulse' is a collection of 50 combo patches for the semi-modular analog synthesizers Moog DFAM and Labyrinth.
The soundset focuses on rhythmic and dynamic sound design, as both synthesizers are naturally oriented toward punchy, percussive tones.
𧿠The collection includes basses, plucks, bleeps, drums, leads, and FXs.
There is a wide range of sound colors inside the pack: massive and gentle, aggressive and soft, bright and dull, melodic and inharmonic tones, as well as straight and polymetric patterns.
đŠ The patches are available here: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/dfam...
đ The main idea behind the soundset is a high level of interconnection, rather than simply syncing the synths with independent timbres (individual patch collections for DFAM and Labyrinth are also available on my website).
In this patchbook, the timbres of the synths are tightly intertwined and cannot exist separately:

Alisa 1377 - Raw Sound Demo
video upload by LFOstore
"#alisa #1377 #alisa1377 #synth #demo
Rare USSR synthesizer restored by Alex Taber!
It was made in USSR in 1985 at Luberetskiy Military Radioplant "Rodina" near Moscow.
ALISA synthesizers were made especially for experimental electronic music, creating of sound effects in soviet cinema and scientific acoustic researches. This unique instrument has warm, aggressive and absolutely original analog sound!
The synthesizer has 1 OSC with 4 wave forms, ADSR , filter, various modulations, vibrato and portamento effects.
OSCILLATOR: tune; octave +1/+2; portamento; wave forms: triangle, saw, square, odd harmonics; frequency modulation (for all 4 waveforms); impulse-width modulation (for square wave form) with impulse width and depth controls; harmonics (for odd harmonics wave form). You can use individual OSC waveforms (triangle, saw, square, odd harmonics) or mix them together to get unique sounds!
LFO: on/off modulation switch, two waveforms (triangle, square), modulation rate, modulation rate coarse switch - 1Hz/10Hz.
FILTER: cutoff, resonance, vibrato (filter modulation), ADSR, switch between filter control- keyboard or contour OSC (ADSR). The synths filter due to it`s original architecture can be used as additional oscillator when filter`s resonance knob in self-oscillaltion position and it sounds really weird and interesting!
AMPLIFIER: ADSR, main volume, on/off synthesizer."

VÄld Labs Tresse: a multiengine synthesizer based on Plaits, for desktop.
video upload by VÄld Labs
This one was sent my way via Meska who had the following to say: "It's 'basicaly' a standalone MI Plait with 3voice and extended oscilator models."
Video description follows:
"Tresse — 3-voice polyphonic desktop synth, 38 engines
Hey all,
Been working on this for a while and it's finally at a point where I want to share it.
*Tresse* is a standalone polyphonic synthesizer built around Mutable Instruments' Plaits DSP code, running on an ESP32-S3 with a custom PCB. Three voices of polyphony, 38 synthesis engines, USB, DIN/TRS and Bluetooth MIDI, and perhaps Ableton Link and our upcoming stack (VMB) VÄld Modular Bus, expected to ship this summer, and which will a new wireless comms protocol with negligible latency, auto discovery and machine mesh capabilities (to be released soon).
Also enough knobs and encoders to actually play the thing without menu-diving, and a battery for when you're bored outside of your studio.
*The core idea:* take the full Plaits engine library — all 24 algorithms — and make it polyphonic in a self-contained hardware instrument. Then keep going and add 14 more custom engines on top.
There are hundreds of options similar to this in modular systems and i thought why not bring all these god-level creative tools to bedroom, desktop producers who don't have the money or the space (or will) to mingle in the modular space, and bring them one contained box with all they need.
What's inside
*ESP32-S3* doing all the DSP across both cores (voices 0+1 on Core 1, voice 2 on Core 0, parallel render)
**PCM5102A DAC**, 24-bit output, 32kHz sample rate
*4 pots + 4 rotary encoders* through CD74HC4067 mux and MCP23017 I2C expander
*OLED display* (128×64) for patch info, engine select, preset browsing
*USB MIDI + BLE MIDI* — works with everything, no adapter needed for wireless
Custom PCB, all through-hole friendly
38 engines
The first 24 are straight from Plaits — East Coast, Phase Distortion, all three DX7 variants, Terrain, String/Chords, Chiptune, Wavetable, Speech, Swarm, Particle, the Rings modes, the three drum engines, etc.
Then 14 custom engines built from scratch:
*Karplus-Strong* — proper physical string modeling with excitation morphing (noise → impulse → tonal)
*ByteBeat* — 8 classic formulas with pitch-tracked rate, gets wild
*CZ Phase Distortion* — Casio CZ-style, three distortion shapes
*Supersaw* — up to 7 detuned saws with PWM, the obvious one but it needed to exist
*Formant* — vowel synthesis with 3 bandpass resonators, gender shift control
*2-Op FM* — clean FM with 13 ratios and operator feedback
*Wavefolder* — sine/tri/saw/square source into a proper folder with bias
*Noise Drums* — SVF-based with pitch envelope, covers kicks through metallic hits
*Modal Resonator* — 8 tuned bandpass partials, morphs from harmonic → bell → bar inharmonicity, with a bowed excitation mode
*Sympathetic Strings* — 3 coupled Karplus delay lines with controllable coupling and interval ratios
*Comb Resonator* — 4 parallel comb filters with spread control
*Drawbars* — organ-style additive with 8 Hammond-ratio partials
*Complex Oscillator* — FM into wavefolder, Buchla-adjacent territory
*Grain Noise* — granular noise with smoothing, good for textures and pads
Controls
Three parameter layers accessible via toggle buttons:
*Normal* — Timbre, Morph, Harmonics, Color on pots; Attack, Decay, FM, LFO Depth on encoders
*MOD* — Fold, Detune, Ring Mod, Chorus on pots; LFO destination/shape/speed/sync on encoders
*SHIFT* — Filter Cutoff/Reso/Env/Type on pots; Portamento, Octave, Vibrato depth/speed on encoders
Hold both buttons → engine select overlay. Double-tap MOD → system menu (randomizer, MIDI config, play mode). Double-tap SHIFT → preset browser across three banks (own patches, generated, branches).
Play modes: Poly, Mono, and chord modes (Major, Minor, 7th, Sus4, Power, Octave).
The randomizer is one of my favorite things — it generates random patches with procedural names (stuff like "Velvet Moth" or "Iron Shard"), you scroll through them with the encoder, and save the ones you like to a generated preset bank. 512 slots each for generated and branch presets, 128 for your own.
What it sounds like
Honestly covers a lot of ground. The Plaits engines already span everything from classic analog to FM to physical modeling to noise, and the custom engines fill in some gaps I wanted — proper supersaw, real Karplus-Strong, the modal/sympathetic stuff for metallic and evolving tones, and the ByteBeat engine for when you want to go full chaos. The global FX chain (filter, wavefolder, ring mod, chorus) ties everything together.
The project should be available from April 2026, in kit or assembled units! Price to be discolsed once i have the final FINAL prototype, but shouldn't hurt the wallet.
This is a *VÄld Labs* project from Lisbon Portugal. Much more to come.
Would love to hear what people think, and happy to answer questions about the build or the DSP. Be aware that this is a pretty advenced prototype, but still a prototype"
https://valdlabs.com
Note they also have the Consequencer pictured left but no additional info aside from the following on it yet.
"A portable, desktop-first sequencer with modular DNA — built for the art of shaping chaos."
CubuSynth also has a Consequencer announced back in 2024, but they appear to be unrelated.

Syncussion SY-1 dark ambient driven by the Midicake Arp (no talk)
video upload by Richard DeHove
"I toyed for some time with the idea of titling this video: "To a Mouse, on Turning Her Up in Her Nest With the Plough". Which is the title of the 1785 poem by Robert Burns. Supposedly Burns was ploughing his field in Scotland when he accidently destroyed a mouse nest; was full of remorse for 'little Mousie' who now faced a disastrous Winter; and composed this rather lengthy poem while standing in the field.
It contains the verse:
But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
The key line of which has been popularized as "The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray". Which, it can finally be revealed, was my resigned feeling when rendering this video, and which led to the impulse for the silly title. In the end I decided against this title assuming algorithms don't appreciate obtuse connections by mood.
The plan was to string together a good half dozen Arp-driven Syncussion noodles with long stretches of blather about the Midicake Arp settings. After putting most of that together the only part I really enjoyed was one of the darker pieces, so that's the video. At least I learned a little about Robert Burns. It's worth another few minutes of your time to read something of his life, it's fascinating.
Here the Syncussion is in Mode 2 which means the pitch is controlled via MIDI. At times the Arp is also modulating the only other available MIDI parameter which is decay. The two leftside Arp channels control the left-side Syncussion voice; and the two right channels of the Arp control the right voice.
A pedal I bought used many months ago 'Gallows in the Morning' is on the left channel, and a delay on the right. Gallows is a drive and reverb combo pedal. Meh. The reverb is OK but the drive is pretty gutless and has an odd crackle to it. Mode B I never used because it just sucked the entire bottom end away. But it looks good, has a big light, and a nice gloomy name.
In other news I recently had to endure a few days here without my Fab Knocker. Lord, what an agony. So my thanks again to my loyal handful of Patrons. I detest ads.
In reaching this far I thankyou, it's good we can share these little interludes of irrelevancy.
Many thanks to my kind patrons who keep this channel ad-free

Echograin Tranzwave 2 Software Synthesizer Inspired by the Ensoniq Fizmo
video uploads by Echograin
video upload by AMAZONA Music Mag

via Echograin
Introducing Tranzwave, a powerful wavetable Synthesizer, inspired by an unsung hero from the late 90’s: The Ensoniq Fizmo.
The flexible modulation engine, coupled with creative editing and randomization features, simplifies the creation of new, innovative sounds. Tranzwave brings all the wavetables from the Fizmo into the modern age for new creative explorations. With its user-friendly interface, Tranzwave provides complete control over wavetable and effect controls, making the creation of new sounds both fun and easy.
Tranzwave – A Tribute to Fizmo’s DNA
In the late 1990s Ensoniq pioneered “Transwaves”, a unique form of wavetable synthesis notably featured in their Fizmo synthesizer. Unlike earlier forms of wavetable synthesis, which could sometimes produce more static or stepped sounds, Ensoniq’s technology facilitated fluid transitions between different waveforms within a wavetable.
This innovation led to the creation of evolving, dynamic soundscapes. Ensoniq’s approach allowed for a more seamless and organic morphing of sounds, enabling musicians to craft rich, textured audio experiences that changed over time. This method offered a fresh and novel way to explore sonic possibilities, distinguishing it from the more digital and discrete transitions of previous wavetable synthesizers like the PPG Wave. Although the Ensoniq Fizmo, which utilized Transwaves, did not achieve widespread fame, its distinctive approach to wavetable synthesis marked a significant development in the evolution of electronic sound and influenced modern synthesis techniques.
Tranzwave brings this older, unique wavetable concept, known as Transwaves, into the modern era of music production. By sampling each frame of these Transwaves, Tranzwave offers a rich and dynamic sonic palette that captures the essence of these early digital synthesizers. It’s akin to having a vast library of colors and shades at your disposal, offering endless possibilities for creating new and innovative sounds.

Ever imagined your sound echoing through a sold-out stadium? Or reverberating off the metallic walls of a NASA spacecraft hangar? What if your guitar fell into a cosmic white hole… or drifted through the vaulted ceilings of a centuries-old cathedral?
Welcome to Verbera — where imagination meets reality. This is not your typical software convolution plugin. Verbera is a standalone, hardware-based convolution reverb pedal — with Instant IR loading, stunning tweakability, and boundless sonic range. Whether you’re recreating iconic spaces, vintage hardware, or crafting otherworldly reverbs never heard before, Verbera gives musicians and engineers a powerful new tool for both live and studio setups.
Step Into Iconic Spaces and Classic Gear with a Single Click
Verbera ships with 120 world-class impulse responses (IRs) — captured in breathtaking detail from legendary spaces like symphony halls, European cathedrals, even aerospace facilities. You’ll also find IRs modeled after classic studio gear like spring and plate reverbs. Massive or intimate, modern or retro — Verbera brings those sonic environments directly under your feet.
Reverbs from Another Dimension
Verbera isn’t just about realism — it’s about reinvention. Beyond the meticulously captured IRs, you’ll find a curated library of original Hotone-crafted IRs that stretch the limits of your imagination. Think sci-fi-inspired synth atmospheres, time-warping delay trails, shimmering textures pulled straight from a “white hole” in space. These are not your standard reverbs — they’re creative catalysts designed to inspire your next masterpiece.
Dual Reverb Engine for Deep-Dimensional Sound Design
At the heart of Verbera is a dual-engine design. On one side: the IR convolution engine, capturing the nuanced reflections of real spaces and gear. On the other: XR, a finely tuned algorithmic reverb that brings surreal, hyper-dimensional ambiance to your sound. Layer them. Shape them. And with a single tap, freeze the XR reverb to create endlessly evolving textures and ambient pads.
Cutting-Edge Convolution Tech, Instant IR loading
Powered by Hotone’s proprietary low-latency convolution engine, Verbera delivers studio-grade reverb tails — up to 10 seconds stereo or 20 seconds mono — without skipping a beat. Switch IRs on the fly with zero audio dropout. This is next-gen performance that blows past traditional limitations.

CG-Products XR 22VCO, Delay 1022, Peak + Hold, sound.report (Short explanation + 15 Min sounds only)

XR22 VCO FT
VCO with Ring Modulation Input and FSK (Frequency Shift Keying)
Amplitude Modulation (AM) Input
Ring modulation
CV controllable sine/triangle volume
Advanced waveform generation by AM
Rgb-LED for optical control
FSK (Frequency Shift Keying)
Pulse and ramp generation
Switching between two different frequency CVs
Advanced waveform generation by FSK
LFO-, Bass-, High- Mode
Switchable Sync-Mode (from Rev.6)
The XR22 VCO FT is a VCO with amplitude modulation option – which can be used for volume control, or ring modulation of the oscillator’s sine/triangle output. The AM-input signal is added to a DC-voltage adjustable by knob ‘Gain’ (between ca. +/-5V) and the sum voltage is being internally multiplied with the sinewave/trianglewave The result is an oscillator amplitude depending on the ‘Gain’-DC plus AM-input signal. The applied AM-input signal can be mixed to the VCO output signal (modulated or unmodulated) too – a kind of ‘dry/wet’ control with the mix provided on the sine/triangle output. With no AM-input, the XR22 VCO FT behaves like a normal sinewave/triangle VCO, then its volume is controlled by knob ‘Gain’. Whereas with the knob ‘Gain’ in center position, the oscillator tone is becoming almost muted, and the input signal on ‘AM in’ controls the amplitude of the wave completely; thus the VCO can be used as a ring modulator.
The FSK (frequency shift keying) option provides two internally switchable different oscillator frequencies F1 and F2; each controllable by the two big-sized knobs (and their respective fine-tuning knobs and CV inputs). Switching between F1 and F2 can be done manually or by a logic signal (e.g. a gate signal) applied on input ‘FSK in‘. Further, it is possible to use the XR22 VCO FT‘s squarewave output for FSK switching. This will result in ramp or sawtooth (on the sine/triangle output) and pulse (on the squarewave output) waveforms. The falling and rising edges of the of the sine/triangle signal and the duty-cycle of the squarewave output are independently adjustable, and/or controllable via CVs of F1 and F2.
Furthermore, there is a switch for linking F1 to F2. In this case, the ratio between F1 and F2 is remaining the same, independently from the frequency, and ensuring properly 1V/oct. CV tracking.
A switch allowes to enable ‘sync mode’: An applied trigger will restart the wave always at the same point, useful for synced LFO applications and more.
For optical control, the XR22VCO FT has a full-color LED for AM visualization and a 2-color LED for FSK control.

Creativity | Episode 01 | How to develop your own 'modules' by patching
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"In this kick-off episode about 'creativity' I'll revisit the concept of one of my 'imaginary dream modules', the reverse FX processor. I can't teach you creativity, but I can share my creative process.
I've been thinking about this concept for years, and trying all kinds of combinations to recreate the sounds I am looking for. It's impossible to do in real time, because these FX are created on sounds that didn't happen yet (at least not to the people listening).
It's easy to do in post, but you'll need to go through a recipe. You'd record a sound, reverse it, add FX, re-record the result, and reverse it again. I found another way to cook this recipe with two Morphagenes and I am now able to integrate it in a live patch. I need to start/stop recordings and control sound-on-sound for best results, so it's very hard to automate. Manual tweaking works best.
It's an outcome of a creative process. I have this idea and I am slowly getting closer by not letting it go, trying different things and learn from failures (which aren't failures but babysteps). Dead ends are actually U-turns. I've been thinking about learning to code for the Versio platform so I could make a 'Reversio' firmware myself, but I don't think that's going to happen because I'll need to learn C++ coding. And even then, it will not sound like two Morphagenes with an FX chain in between.
The funny thing is, I finally figured out how to do it while making this video. At the very end. So just before posting I ordered a second Mimeophon. I don't think I've ever seen a video about a dual Mime. To be continued, and happy patching! Let me know in the comments if you ever gave this a try with anything that can loop and reverse. Instruo Lubadh can also do it, but it would be in mono. I also tried reversed impulse response files, but it can never emerge before the original sound. Nothing can :). So don't let that stop you. When you're walking a long and winding road, you can see a distant future."

Tela – Modal Synthesizer
video upload by Fors
Tela – Walkthrough
video upload by Fors
https://fors.fm/tela
"Tela orchestrates a vast array of resonant peaks, intertwined to form a critical mass of sound. It models nothing – it's a synthesizer for the here and now, to discover and create anew.
In a careful balance of depth and immediacy, Tela explores the inherent character and capabilities of modal synthesis. Like a practical joke, Tela bends a myriad of partials into perfect symmetrical waveforms only for them to dissolve into otherworldly timbres and textures mere seconds later. There are no rules.
Modal synthesis
Imagine hitting a thin piece of metal, a piece of glass or the membrane of a drum– the material vibrates and rings out with its inherent timbre, affected by the motion of the impact and the strength of the hit. This is the basis of what modal synthesis recreates.

NAMM 2023 - Astral - Fast Convolution Probabilistic Synthesizer
video upload by sonicstate
"Sonic State met with Arash from Astral at NAMM 2023, where he showcased their new software synthesizer, also called Astral. The synthesizer is based on probability and allows users to sequence their own samples in a probabilistic way. The software has different probability functions for various sound parameters, which users can automate as per their requirements. The software creates a continuous frequency space, meaning users don't have to use specific notes to make music, but can use any frequency in between. Arash demonstrated loading a water sound into the synthesizer turning it into a three-dimensional ambient unified random process, which can be used to create music.
Astral's new software synthesizer is a fast convolution probabilistic synthesizer that takes users' input and creates a unique sound texture. The software has about 30,000 parameters and seven different panels, making it a standalone software rather than a plugin. Users can control the impulse response in any way they want, apply different mathematical functions, and effects like FM, AM, and spectral inversion.

Delicate Tension
video upload by Igor Vasiliev
"Saxophone improvisation with BeatCutter & SpaceFields apps (iOS, macOS, AUv3).
Bass clarinet and Soprano saxophone by Hubert-Jan Hubeek, a saxophone or multi reed instrumentalist from Amsterdam, http://xofoon.nl
The background and abstractions were generated from the original saxophone and clarinet track by BeatCutter app and also partially processed by SpaceFields app with using external impulse response (IR) file for natural space reverberation.
IR file for the SpaceFields app recorded by Henry Lowengard at Widow Jane Mine, Rosendale, New York, https://www.centuryhouse.org
BeatCutter, https://apps.apple.com/app/beatcutter...
BeatCutter is an experimental multi-channel application for slicing and recombining sound based on rhythm. In the center of the application is a matrix of sample cells with smoothly reconfigurable recording, playback and control busses. This application is best for those who would like to experiment with large audio files or live instruments, creating chaotic constructions and patterns from sliced rhythm-driven samples.
SpaceFields, https://apps.apple.com/app/spacefield...
Loop-based mangler effect for creating slowly changing rhythmic sound structures in a deep reverb space from any external signal. Great for experimenting and designing ambient and noise backgrounds with rhythmic elements.
