Polyend MESS Demo - Presets for Ambient, Techno and Electronica (no talking)

video upload by Limbic Bits

"In this video, we’re taking a closer look at the Polyend MESS — a multi-effect processor that combines a broad selection of over 120 stereo effect algorithms with a step-based sequencer. The device allows you to assign different effects to four independent tracks and sequence parameters per step, making it possible to build rhythmic or evolving textures. The polymetric sequencer is a notable feature, as each lane can run at its own length and timing, adding a subtle sense of variation and movement."

RROAARRR with EVIL PET - a new little synth/granular/FM by ENDORPHIN.ES

video upload by Endorphin.es

"Welcome to EVIL PET - your granular processor with built-in FM radio. EVIL PET can be a synthesizer, an effect unit, a radio FM tuner, a reel-to-reel recorder, a sampler and more.

https://endorphin.es/evil-pet

EVIL PET bites incoming audio into tiny grains and plays them in new, playful, or unexpected ways. Stretch, shrink, or flip the grains to create unique sounds, textures, and effects. Layer grains to make dreamy, glitchy, or swirling soundscapes. It works with any input - guitar, voice, synth, or drums - turning ordinary sounds into something magical.

Audio can either come from: the input jacks, the built-in microphone, the built-in FM tuner or loading samples from a microSD card. Grains can be triggered by tactile PLAY key or via connected MIDI or MPE keyboard, allowing for expressive polyphonic performance and live experimentation.

Performances in that video by ‪@JuliaBondar‬ and ‪@warrenwalkermusic‬ " User videos:

Hurray... Take 5 and TEO 5 Desktop Units

video upload by Starsky Carr

TEO 5 announced here

"The Take 5 and Teo-5 from Sequential and Oberheim make fantastic desktop units. They feel like they were made for this form factor - no compromises, simply great sounding synths in a high quality enclosure. The keyboard versions may have felt lacking in keys (even though they have a great keybed) - just a bit too short for some. I found it was quite handy having one that could fit on my rack! But with these the only decision you have to make is which one is best for you.

Luckily I'm here to confuse you further (they both sound great)! The decision will be whether you prefer the Oberheim or Sequential style of VCO programming, the filters, and the X-Mod/FM. And these just so happen to be the bits I look at in this :)"

Press release follows:

Take Your Music to the Next Level with the Sequential Take 5 Desktop Module

San Francisco, CA – [July 1, 2025] – Sequential, a leading innovator in synthesizer technology, today announced the release of the Take 5 Desktop Module, bringing their legendary analog sound to a more compact and accessible form-factor.

Building on the success of the Take 5 keyboard, the desktop module offers the same powerful analog oscillators and filters that capture the iconic warmth and depth of the Prophet-5, enhanced with modern modulation and digital effects. The module delivers this sought-after sound in a space-saving design, perfect for studio setups and live performances where portability and efficiency are paramount.

"Ever since we launched the Take 5 keyboard, we’ve gotten repeated requests for a desktop module version, " says CEO David Gibbons. "And more recently, it seems that modules have really shot up in popularity. So, we're very excited to offer the Take 5 sound in a format that everyone seems to want."

The Take 5 Desktop Module provides the same hands-on, knob-based experience as its keyboard counterpart, allowing for intuitive sound design and real-time parameter adjustments. Users can delve deep into sound creation with controls that are simple and direct, making it fast and easy to polish your sound.

This synth fits perfectly in smaller studio or bedroom setups, and is easy to transport for live gigs, positioning The Take 5 desktop module to bring its signature Sequential sound to a wider audience than ever before. It's an instrument designed to make life easier and streamline the journey to making music and having fun.

The Take 5 desktop module is available now, with a US MAP price of $1,399.

BOSS RV-200 Reverb Demo (no talking) with OB-6 Synth: A budget friendly reverb for live performer

video upload by Limbic Bits

"In this video, we’re diving into the BOSS RV-200 Reverb—a budget-friendly pedal that offers a variety of reverb algorithms with solid overall sound quality. It pairs well with synths and features a user-friendly interface, with just enough controls to make it suitable for live performances.

While it may not have the distinct character of pedals like the Strymon BigSky or the UAFX Golden Reverberator, it’s a reliable choice when you need spatial effects that complement the sound rather than dominate it. This would be my recommendation for those searching for a pedal for live use whenever they need an affordable, easy-to-use option with dependable sound quality."

Joranalogue Delay-1 Sound Demo (no talking) with Knobula Monumatic, Strymon Magneto and others

video upload by Limbic Bits

1:54 Delay-1 as Chorus / Phaser
2:46 Karplus Strong Synthesis
3:37 Pulse-modulated Chorus
4:30 Extreme delay settings (glitch)
5:56 Hypnotoad Drone with Noise

"Joranalogue Delay-1 is an all-analog module designed for very short delays (1–50 ms), making it perfect for applications such as chorus, flanging, comb filtering, Karplus–Strong synthesis, and more. Thanks to its flexible array of patch points, it also lends itself well to more experimental uses.

I especially liked the introduction of glitches and artifacts when feeding the delay with an external clock oscillator to enable longer delay times. Of course, a low-pass filter in the signal chain is almost mandatory in that context.

With pristine build quality, great sound, and plenty of creative options, Delay-1 is an intriguing playground for larger modular systems—or for anyone looking to explore Karplus–Strong synthesis in more depth. It works well on its own but truly shines when combined with external signals, modulation, and further processing."
