"This piece was created using the ‪@NovationTV‬ Circuit, ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, and a tape loop. It blends filtered synths, delayed drum patterns, and field recordings into a dub-techno soundscape.

On the OP-1 field, vocal samples are used to create chord tones that are looped with the ENDLESS sequencer. The filter is opened and closed at various points to alter the timbre. Reverb is added through the ‪@strymon‬ NIGHTSKY, where the HIGHCUT filter is also adjusted to shape the tone.

A cassette player ‪@WeAreRewind1‬ holds a one-minute endless tape containing field recordings captured in a park. These sounds are processed with ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII and LOSSY, adding micro-loops, reverb, filtering, and textures between noise and ambience.

The Circuit plays the rhythm pattern. Its built-in filter is manipulated during performance, and additional delay is applied using the ‪@strymon‬ TIMELINE.

On the OP-1 field, the sampler contains Kasane Teto’s voice, which is used to create melodic phrases. At certain points, looping is applied through the NTS-3, and the signal is processed with the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII.

The RX17 rhythm machine is recorded with an ALESIS 3630 compressor applied.

On the MU15, synth sounds are performed using its built-in keyboard, with reverb added via the blueSky.

In the modular synthesizer, a piano performance is recorded into Morphagene, which is then modulated with CV signals from Quad Function to create glitch variations. On the norns shield, the script AWAKE is used to sequence the phrases. The trigger probability is set around 60–70%, creating a semi-random timing for each note. The phrase patterns are controlled via monome grid.

On the OP-1 field, harmonic synth pads are recorded live and looped on the spot, with additional hand-played layers performed over the loops.

Using ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOSSY, effects are applied to the norns shield’s sound. In the early section, a filter is manipulated to fade the sound in, while in the outro the tone shifts toward a more lo-fi texture.

The Nord Lead, when set to Pelle mode, produces an unusually aggressive tone. Its output passes through the ‪@strymon‬ NightSky for reverb and filtering.

On the OP-1 field, a 16-bar synth loop was recorded and played back at a slower tape speed, layering additional sounds during performance. The output is processed through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ Lossy to achieve a lo-fi texture.

How to Enable Pelle Mode on the Nord Lead 1

1.Set Program A to 19 and Program B to 65.
2.Hold down SYSTEM, then press SHIFT.
3.While keeping both buttons held, press SET, then press PERF. MODE.
(Keep SYSTEM and SHIFT held the entire time.)

If you hear a clicking sound, Pelle Mode has been successfully activated.
If the program number displays 75, the attempt failed — this happens when CLEAR is pressed instead of SET."

The TR-808 is MIDI-controlled, with delay applied to the snare using the DD-6. The modified long-decay circuit of the TR-808 is manually adjusted during performance to accent the kick.

The Grandmother is also MIDI-controlled, with the filter cutoff operated manually.

On the OP-1 field, sampled vocals are performed and glitched in real time using the MOOD MKII.

The Nord Lead plays the lead synth, while additional harmony parts are recorded separately and processed with sidechain compression in Ableton Live."
