AJH NEW MODULE! 'CHANCE DELAY' Voltage-Controlled Probability/Random Gate Delay and More
video upload by AJH Synth Official
"The Tone Science Chance Delay is a unique concept in Eurorack modules that combines chance and randomness, with pulse delay and pulse conditioning. It is a collaboration between between electronic musician/composer Ian Boddy and AJH Synth. It can perform as a Chance generator, but is also capable of pulse stretching for Trigger to Gate conversion, pulse shortening for Gate to Trigger conversion, Gate Delay, Sub Bass Generation and also "divide by n" clock division. There is a wide range of control and all functions can be operated manually from the front panel or can be automated using external CV voltages. Chance can range between 0 to 100%. The Gate out can be delayed by anywhere between from 0.5mS to 30 Seconds, and the output Pulse length can also vary from 0.5mS to 30 Seconds. The TRIG push button allows manual triggering of pulses, also determined by the Chance control, and a green LED shows the output pulse status. It includes a handy "Gate pass through" mode; when the Length control is set to zero the incoming pulse or trigger will still be determined by the Chance and Delay controls, whilst the outgoing gate length will be the same as the incoming gate length. Its compact 8hp form factor and very low power consumption make this an excellent addition to any Eurorack system. For a full description of the module, and more information about Ian Boddy & Tone Science, visit the product page on the official AJH Synth website: https://ajhsynth.com/ChanceDelay.html See Ian Boddy's video about the Chance Delay [below]
Tone Science (Ian Boddy) is a sub-label of DiN Records: https://dinrecords.bandcamp.com/album...
The AJH SYNTH Eurorack range consists of high-end modules, all hand-made in the UK, most of which are based on classic, vintage designs, authentically recreating the circuitry of much sought-after analogue instruments and technologies of the past, whilst greatly expanding them, and bringing them to modern Eurorack levels of convenience, limitless flexibility, and reliability.
Check out the AJH Synth playlists for module 'User Guides', and 'Patch of The Week' videos, which will be either performances or 'how to' guides, detailing functions/methods, and a range of sounds, some familiar, some less so, containing a patch sheet at the end to show you how to construct it for yourself.

Ambient Soundscape in C Minor
Published on Feb 13, 2019 theianboddy
"Improvising an ambient soundscape in C Minor.
Tip Top One has a sample of an ambient bed prepared on my Serge system.
I'm then mixing in some analogue Ring Mod FX from the Cwejman FSH1 & Livewire Dalek Modulator (sitting in the rack to the right).
The Make Noise DPO is providing the bass & the Mutable instruments Braids the higher notes.
These are being triggered via semi random gates from Marbles which are driving the Rene sequencer for the bass & the Pressure Points for the high notes. I'm also manually playing the Pressure points which is being quantised from an Intellijel uScale.
FX are courtesy of the Folktek Resonant Garden which is off camera."

French Connection
Published on Dec 6, 2018 theianboddy
"The Analogue Systems French Connection keyboard mimics the playing technique of the Ondes Martenot. The ring & wire control the pitch and the button on the left, in this instance, is controlling Volume, filter cutoff & PWM as well as the Morph X on the Morphing Terrarium.
The Roland System 500 is providing the main lead voice from the 510 module. The 555 module is doing the various CV modulations as well as the White Noise source. The dual filter 505 is treating the white noise & low drone. This drone is coming from the Synthesis technology Morphing Terrarium with Mutable Instruments Clouds providing the delay & reverb FX."

Roland System 500 Meets 100M
Published on Aug 8, 2018 theianboddy
"Roland System 500 being sequenced by the 182 module from the Roland System 100-M.
All the sound (except echo & reverb) are coming from the System 500.
Three voices:
1) 2 VCO bass line being sequenced from the 182.
2) High sequence is a third VCO not being sequenced but on hard sync with VCO1.
3) Phased White Noise percussion.
The System 500 555 module provides the master clock from the S&H Clock Out. This clocks the 100M 182 sequencer as well as both envelopes on the 540 module.
Playing the 182 sequencer live involves changing the sequence length as well as switching the 3V / 10V switch. The higher voltage really stretches the tuning for some sonic madness!

Serge Triple Filter
Published on Jul 17, 2017 theianboddy
"Patch using all 3 flavours of Serge filter namely the Variable Slope VCF, Variable Bandwidth VCF & Variable Q VCF (2 of the latter). Using 4 x VCO's tuned to a 4 part chord which are being cross faded in 2 pairs these are then sent through the 3 different Serge filters which are being modulated via the DUSG & DTG. Starting with slow sweeps things eventually get crazy when the modulation speeds are taken into audio rates. Effects from Serge Wilson & Moogerfooger Analog Delays."

most drums are synthetic, made on the A100/Eurorack modular with analogue sequencers and vco's of course. in detail, Plan B model 15's passed thru Make Noise QMMG lowpass gates.... plus various analogue scapes (Serge, various analogue synths, etc) of course... the orchestral strings ( heavily processed though) come from an old Roland S750 Sampler. even a little bit of NI Reaktor is in the track. plus heavy processing with Ableton Live."

Many consider Berlin to be the birthplace of the 1970's electronic music movement that has proved so influential to the development of a myriad of electronica musicians, both past and present. So when Boddy got the opportunity to play an experimental set at the Electricity series of concerts held in the Lichtblick-Kino in this famous city, he jumped at the chance.

RRP £24.99 inc VAT
Beatalogue is the fourth title in Ian Boddy's Waveforms series of sample libraries. As a follow up to Drumalogue this one takes as it's starting material a selection of electronic drum patterns and loops which are then fed through Boddy's massive modular synth system. These are then filtered, mangled and generally messed up using a huge number of modules all in the analogue domain. All the loops have between 3 and 5 variations and sonically range from sweet filtering all the way through to completely crunched and twisted mayhem. The quality of the distortion and overdrive achieved using these techniques gives the loops a gorgeous organic feel which is further heightened by the sound of the modular itself with it's fuzzy warmness and tripping envelopes.
The sounds are also provided in Rex2 and Apple Loops format enabling them to be used at various tempos and dissected by the end user for their own purposes.
Technical Data
300 mono samples at 44.1Khz, 24 bit in WAV format .
All samples also provided in Rex2 & Apple Loops format.
