Un grazie particolare a Franco Turesso e Soundwave con i quali abbiamo collaborato per la realizzazione dell'evento."
Captain Credible - Dead Cats EP Release as a Printed Circuitboard
What is Dead Cats generative EP? (and why is it?) Published on Sep 25, 2015 Captain Credible
Captain Credible wrote in to let us know about his upcoming "Dead Cats" EP (currently available for pre-order here). What makes this particular EP unique is that as a creator of electronic instruments, Captain Credible decided to release it as a printed circuitboard, with each one featuring a different version of the final track, "main.h". The track is actually generated by the circuit board (see the main.h SoundCloud embed below for an example). The board is Arduino based, and Captain Credible made the code available here.

October 2015 brings with it the release of the EP 'Dead Cats' on Metronomicon Audio. This is the first in a series of 3 printed circuitboards. Unlike a traditional EP, Dead Cats is different for every copy of the physical release. Alongside the 5 downloadable tracks, each circuit board generates its own version of the final track 'main.h' using your download code as its source of inspiration. Simply plug your headphones into the headphone jack and absorbe the harsh reality that is the robot takeover of the cultural market.
The release also marks a new liveset with hand crafted space-age, razor sharp instruments utilizing a unique system of visual feedback. Causing epileptic fits and temporary blindness to both audience and performer."

"Just a rough sketch of the new instruments in the wild, more and better footage in the making. Finally mankind has instruments that induce epileptic fits while you play them! Hooray!"

My 1st song with the very unique Novation Circuit groovebox. The workflow is confusing at first, but it soon makes perfect sense. Sounds huge even before a little bit of Logic Pro compression & EQ."

FL Studio Mobile IAA Animoog MIDI Sequence
Published on Oct 14, 2015 ipadloops
"App Attack Ep 003 - Lots of viewers are asking if I would use an iPad when composing for TV shows. I have songs in several TV shows and I do use the iPad from time to time to get ideas started. My favorite app for sequencing midi sequences is FL Studio Mobile. I just really like the piano roll and editing features. They just make sense to me. I also like using IAA (Inter App Audio) when using FL Studio Mobile. IAA is Apple's proprietary method of routing apps internally. I slammed this little jam down in about 20 minutes. I was inspired by a preset in Animoog. It was used subtly. Other sounds were from the FL Studio Mobile synth.

Sequential Circuits Poly Sequencer 1005 for Prophet 5 with Original Demo Sequences Tape Cassette

SN 0125 via this auction
Here's something you don't see every day. The original cassette tape for the SCI Poly Sequencer 1005. The listing is for both the unit and the tape, but the tape is what struck my eye. Anyone that collected rare tapes and/or record albums knows the feeling when you see something like this. Doing a quick search for Poly Sequencer 1005 on the site, this appears to be the first time it has ever been featured here. Pretty cool when you think about it. A little rare gem from synthesizer history. I'll take a working synth first any day of the week of course, but it sure is cool to look at realizing not only what it is, but where it came from. Check out the birds on the edges! I'm curious if Wine Country Productions ever reissued these.

Octave Plateau Voyetra 8 Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer SN 2801A with Original Rev 4 Cheat Book

I don't think I've ever seen or featured the cheat book on the site before. Like a little Voyetra Eight checkbook!
Details from the listing: "This is a Rev 4 and was completely restored 1yr ago by Peter Lanzilotta at Double Take Studios in NYC. Power supply, voice, filter and mixer cards all rebuilt. Caps replaced, every solder trace examined and touched up where needed, pots replaced, face plate rebuilt, etc, etc. It was disassembled, cleaned, painstakingly repaired, reassembled and fully calibrated to the tune of a $2000 restoration process.
It just returned from another trip to NYC for a "pre sale" tune up and calibration where it was given a clean bill of health. This is as "maintenance free" as you'll likely find this synth due to the extensive restoration and service it has received.
It's functionally in excellent condition and sounds amazing. Cosmetically it has a few scratches and dings in the paint but all knobs and buttons are accounted for and work as intended with an occasional button stick that is pretty much unavoidable with this synth due to the way the face plate is designed.
8x SSM2044 filters! Ridiculous. This synthesizer is a monster. It's the best sounding poly analog I've ever heard.
Includes original (tattered but functional) box, original user manual, Rev 4 addendum "cheat book" and a pair of XLR->midi I/O cables."
