"Testing ... testing ...

First one with "vintage" test equipment, using Bruël & Kjaer 1022, Voltcraft FG607, unnamed function generator "105", Lyons Instruments Pulse PG 73N, Thurlby multiplexer OM358 and Eventide H9 for FX (shimmer!).
Manually controlling pithc on the Bruël & Kjaer, and fading in/out all the sounds on the mixer.
Recorded with Soundcraft 22MTK and only comp and a bit of EQ in Logic."

VIRTUAL ROLAND SOUND CANVAS PROGRAMMER - for APPLE LOGIC v4 > vX

Avialable on Reverb here.

"FOR USE WITH Roland SC-88 PRO, SC-88, SC-55 MKII, SC-55, SC-8850*, CM-64, etc. (*partial support only)

*Dust off and unleash the programming power of your venerable Roland SOUND CANVAS
*Press into service those fat and juicy Roland resonant filters
*Tweak all those pesky hidden effects parameters
*Easily dial in all those eminently routable continuous controllers for maximum expression and creativity
*Program unique sounds starting with the basic building blocks of the well-honed Roland GM sound sets
*Play all those old SMF files with a unique twist to your sounds, programmed by you
*These are just some of the things you can do with this new comprehensive Roland SOUND CANVAS programmer for Apple’s LOGIC DAW

This software is a virtual Roland Sound Canvas programmer for use with various Roland Sound Canvas synthesizers. It simulates a hardware programmer in a software environment within the APPLE LOGIC audio / sequencer program (formerly Emagic LOGIC). To use this software you MUST have a valid copy of LOGIC on your computer (see below) as well as a MIDI interface which connects your computer via MIDI cable to your hardware synthesizer (or you can use the built-in serial interface on some of these units). This software CANNOT be used as a stand alone application under any circumstances. It will not run in Reason, Ableton, AU, VST or any other plug-in format. It is created and presented through use of the LOGIC “environment” architecture.

This programmer is compatible with many different Roland SOUND CANVAS models to varying degrees. Completely optimized for Roland SC-88 PRO, it handles all possible editing duties in that unit with the single exception of micro-tuning, and the same for the SC-88. It will also support the earlier SOUND CANVAS models such as the SC-55 Mk II, SC-55, and a host of others using the GM standard and extras to the degree supported by your particular model’s architecture. This includes Roland’s PC computer products, Virtual Sound Canvas and many others - about 40 different units in all. Check this WIKI page if you want too see if your unit may be supported: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Sound_Canvas

MOK Introduces Filtryg Professional Dual Filter Effect

MOK Filtryg Introduction

"MOK is excited to introduce Filtryg, a professional dual filter effect with deep sound sculpting features to aid in mixing, or add new dimensions in rhythm and timbre to recorded tracks. The integrated envelope follower, wide range LFOs, and MIDI keyboard tracking, each react to your playing as well as your source audio, forming an inspired filter effect that becomes a part of your performance.

The Filtryg dual filter effect plugin offers three filter types with a 12 dB State Variable Filter running in series or parallel with a choice of either 24 dB Ladder, or multiple modes of Biquad, each with their own personality and character. The State Variable Filter is continuously morph-able from Lowpass to Highpass filter modes, with either Bandpass or Notch in-between, while the Ladder and Biquad have a Drive control for extra punch and crunch on the output.

Filtryg’s visually striking interface offers a knob-based control surface, familiar to synthesists and effects users alike. The audio path, modulation routes, and their respective controls are all plainly visible and understandable from the front panel, enabling intuitive and speedy effect construction. It is possible to set up the harmonic-rich sound of audio rate filter FM, including assignable keyboard tracking, in just a few seconds. Finally, all of Filtryg’s parameters are available to automate from the plugin host.

Filtryg is compatible with AAX, AU and VST on Mac, PC and Linux, and is available now at MOK.com.

Features:

- Dual filter configuration in Series, Parallel or Mixed for flexible timbral shaping

- 12 dB State Variable Filter (LP, HP, BP, N), 24 dB Ladder Filter (LP, HP), and multiple Biquad Filter choices, each with distinct personality and character

- Morph knob morphs between State Variable Filter modes for dynamic filter variation

- Drive knob adds punch and crunch to the Ladder and Biquad Filter output

- Audio rate Filter FM enables unusual harmonic generation capabilities

- Keytrack modulation control for integrating keyboard performance

- Envelope Follower for direct interaction with input audio and sidechain pumping effects

- Tempo synchronized LFOs and threshold triggered Envelopes for rhythmic modulations

- Customizable color themes and language settings"

MB-6582 midibox sid - C64 - Enigma Force cover

X1L3

"The theme from the sequel of Shadowfire recreated with the MB6582, a Boss DR550 mk2 and some supersaws to pad it out a bit.

Staying quite faithful to the original with all the modulated PWM stuff from the MB6582.

Another shout out to Fred Gray - the composer of the original C64 version.

Cheers to:

For hosting the scans that i used here :)

A fun one to do. The tune is great, and making the little comic strip recreation of the crashed shuttle opening screen bought a smile to my face :)"

ESK - analog Drums and a Graphic Equalizer

Metunar

"Got an old analog Rane GE60 Graphic Equalizer (2x 30 band with +/-12dB on each band).
So i thought to make a video that shows some nice sound experiments i can do with it.
I had 3 setups in mind:
1. Use the EQ as mono to stereo effect.
2. Use it as a kind of filterbank (+/-24dB on each band).
3. Add feedback and distortion to the filterbank setup.

All is done with a Arturia Drumbrute, a Rane GE60 EQ and in the last setup a Boss KM-60 mixer.
The Boss is wonderful for distortion sounds.

I’m always showing fist the clean signal from the drummachine and then with the EQ effect.

Direct recording without mastering.
