#1: Nobody gave me money to make this video, I wanted to review a bunch of synths in one video and I worked to get my hands on as many as I could. I've extensively used every single synth in this video over many years, so I thought I could give my thoughts on them all as I've played every one (except the Origin, but can you hold that against me, honestly)

"Hellow 2023 :)
#jamuary is already going on and I'm ready to share with you my first western-ish soundscape!

So basically I'm controlling Just Friends and Rings v/Oct with Ableton, using Endorphin.es Shuttle Control as a USB to CV Converter.
Ableton Push is the main MIDI Controller, providing notes, arpeggios.
Just Friend is in FLOOM mode (LOVE IT!), its amp section is controlled by Zadar and modulated by Stages with some LFOs. Desmodus and Ruina Versio are the FX's for this main voice.
In the background, Rings is simulating a sort of acoustic guitar, reverberated and granulated by Monsoon.
A noisy/tape loop added in Ableton as a finishing touch.

General Midi Battle - QY100 vs SC88VL vs Super Nintendo!?

"Lets compare my Seashore track on these three midi modules.

Track 'Seashore' was written on the Dirtywave M8
The bank and program selects are set so it will work on any general midi device.

I have had this Roland SC88VL for a year or so and I use it fairly often as I don't have many poly synths and it doesn't take up much space. The QY100 is a recent addition. The super Midi pak I will feature more, it just got an update to work quietly on PAL machines.

Note seems between unplugging the audio cables from the qy100 and sc88 the Left and Right got flipped.

"Phantasmal Force micro MIDI controller with the @1010_music lemondrop and the @bastlinstruments Kastl drum. The Kastl kicks it off with a little loop (just started learning this little guy). The Phantasmal Force is sending chords to the lemondrop. The chords were generated randomly by the Phantasmal Force and I’m just noodling around with them. In chord mode, the knob raises or lowers the chord on the button up to one octave. Each button can send a different three note chord. The notes of the chord are adjustable, so you can make your own chords.
