NAMM 2025: Korg mini-Korg 700Sm
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Luke from Korg, where he showed us the *mini-Korg 700 SM*. Luke explained this new compact version is roughly 86% the size of the original model, integrating the same keys found in other Korg mini reissues like the MS-20 mini. Notably, it has been upgraded with aftertouch and patch memories, allowing you to save and recall UP TO 14 sounds.
Additional features include USB, MIDI compatibility, a second oscillator, and ring modulation, offering you broader creative capabilities. Luke highlighted the pitch bender and mod wheel which are new additions from the 700s reissue. The distinctive traveler filter, spring reverb, and an included arpeggiator were also mentioned. He described its colorful, candy-shop aesthetic, echoing its 1970s design roots."
NAMM 2025: Nord Piano 6
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Jacob at the Nord booth, who gave us a rundown of the *Piano 6*. Inherited from models like the Grand 2 and Stage, the Piano 6 boasts independent piano and synth layers, each with its own effects. You can set up layers to create rich patches using LED faders, balancing and storing them as programs. Real-time manipulation of sounds is a highlight, facilitated by features like the new unison effect and a revamped synth section.
The Piano 6 also includes a variety of new effects, such as a spin effect, adjustable via the intuitive interface. It supports continuous and half-pedaling techniques through triple pedals, enhancing expressivity. The triple sensor keybed on the 73 and 88 keys offers nuanced expression. Nord Piano Monitors ensure an immersive sound experience, making it ideal for home practice or live performance."

#NAMM 2025: The Stylophone CPM DF-8 Analog Dynamic Multifilter
video upload by CatSynth TV
"We get an introduction and demo to the new CPM DF-8 from Stylophone. This is a companion to the existing CPM DS-2 drone synthesizer, and adds multiple independent filter modules, VCAs and numerous CV interconnection opportuntitites.
'Meet Beauty & the Beast of all filters, the Beauty is our smooth discrete analog recreation of a 2045 (24 dB/oct) LP filter, and the Beast is our proprietary analog GEN R-8 (12 dB/oct) filter that can snarl and howl in all modes (LP, BP, HP, NOTCH). We then decided to combine the 2045 Lowpass filter with the Highpass of the GEN R-8 to create three additional filter types, a Bandpass (BP+), a phaser-like Band Reject (BR+) and a very wide Notch filter (NOTCH+), for some truly unique filter sounds.'

NAMM 2025: Nektar's Enhanced Impact LXPlus MK3 Controllers
video upload by sonicstate
"At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Tim from NeKtar, who introduced us to the new Impact LXP+ MK3 series. Building on the success of its predecessor, the LXP+ MK3 boasts expanded Cubase integration while retaining all its original DAW capabilities. One of the standout additions is the scale and chord feature, allowing for more dynamic musical exploration.
Nectar has significantly improved user convenience with timeline control, making loop-based recording more intuitive. The introduction of a loop record button enables seamless looping and editing. The MK3 now features endless rotaries with high resolution, replacing the older pots, allowing for smoother controls. Additionally, the MK3 offers NKS compatibility through a partnership with Native Instruments, enabling integration with their complete control system.
The series is available in several key sizes, including a 25-key version. It's offered at competitive prices, notably $199 for the 49-key variant."

Analogue Solutions Maximus 4V Polyphonic Synthesizer Multi-Part Analogue Sequence w/ Drum Machine
video upload by Analogue Solutions
"This video features the Analogue Solutions Maximus Four Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer. All synth sounds are live, coming directly from the synth, and are introduced via the onboard stereo mixer.
The Maximus (both 4V and 8V) can operate independently from the optional keyboard, where you can create multi-part sequences and sounds using the 4 onboard sequencers.
An Arturia Drumbrute is clocked from the Maximus and can be heard on percussion.
Enjoy!"
