video upload by Sebastian Galassi

"A test track where the Yamaha DX7 expresses itself again in the solo part (and not only), and this time in the company of illustrious analog friends such as the Roland Jupiter 6, Korg Monopoly and Roland Juno 60."

When SYNTHS GUEST STARRED in TV & Movies

video upload by Noir Et Blanc Vie

"So let's have some fun, I always loved seeing when certain synths were used as props in movies and TV, let me tell you, finding some of these scenes was hard and in the middle of 30 minute long ALF episodes. So honestly I hope you enjoy! If you can name any scenes please put it in the comments section, if there are enough I'll do a part 2."

See the Synth TV and Film label below for additional posts. You can find a list of 51+ appearances in this post from 2007. Note some of the videos are unfortuanately no longer available since then, but the list is there if you want to look them up.

Ambient / volca fm2, Digtione, Prophet-10 | Lost Architectures 2025-02-11 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"A piece created using the ‪@KORG_INC‬ volca fm2, ‪@WeAreElektron‬ Digitone, and ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10. The Prophet-10 provides harmonies while the volca fm2 supplies a bass drone, over which the fine grains of sound from the Digitone resonate.

On the Prophet-10, gentle harmonies transition as the filter opens and closes. The bass is played on the volca fm2, which is processed with a tape effect from the GENERATION LOSS MK2 to add a subtle fluctuation.

The Digitone produces brief, intricate bursts of sound. By applying delay, the density of these sound grains is dynamically modulated."

Novation Peak – A Dream Machine for Ambient & Lo-Fi Sounds 🌌🎛️

video upload by Blossom Bisquits

"The Novation Peak is an 8-voice polyphonic synth perfect for creating deep ambient textures, lo-fi warmth, and nostalgic soundscapes. With FPGA-based oscillators, analog filters, and a rich modulation matrix, it delivers lush pads, detuned leads, and evolving drones reminiscent of Boards of Canada and ‘90s electronic atmospheres. Whether you’re sculpting dreamy chords or hazy, VHS-like tones, Peak is a powerhouse for ambient producers and sonic explorers. 🎶✨

🔊 Let the sound take you back in time!"

INTRODUCING XP32

video upload by Squarp instruments

"💥 Introducing xp32, the perfect expander for unlocking 32 assignable CV or Gate outputs, amplifying the creative power of your Hermod+ sequencer.

🐙 Transform your Hermod+ into a 16-track CV/Gate powerhouse, an expansive MIDI/USB-to-CV interface, a preset manager, or customize your outputs to suit even the most intricate modular setups.

🧠 xp32 opens up a new world of possibilities for both live performances and studio setups, giving you the flexibility to bring your most complex musical ideas to life.

PATCH NOTES & CHAPTERS
0:00 HOW TO SETUP
Setting up the xp32 is incredibly simple. By connecting the included expander ribbon cable to the back of Hermod+, xp32 integrates instantly, no configuration required.

0:16 TR1 : DEFAULT LAYOUT
By default, xp32 outputs note pitch, note gate, note velocity, and modulation.
All these outputs are automatically mapped to the USB keyboard and can be recorded directly, preserving all the nuances of natural playing.
I'm also adjusting the range of the velocity outputs from -10V to +10V to maximize Atlantis's inputs response.

0:53 TR2 : GATE LAYOUT
For track 2, I'm setting all outputs to gate. Each output responds to a different MIDI note and is connected to Rample, which is handling the drums.

1:24 TR3 : CV/GATE + 4 MODULATION
A regular CV/Gate output from Hermod+ is used to generate random notes, which are sent to Plaits. I'm using 4 voices of xp32 to send all 4 available MOD lanes to Plaits. These modulation signals are accessed via the STEP ANALYZER and randomly generated by pressing STEP+Y on Hermod+.

2:12 TR4 : EXTERNAL MIDI CC TO CV
I start by connecting Hapax to Hermod+ via USB. Hapax is sending 4 MIDI CC messages, which are converted into CV and output on the 4 voices of XP32's track 4. These signals are then routed through the system to various controls.

Silhouette by Mannequins // What is it? // 1st day patch

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Welcome to the latest Mannequins module by Whimsical Raps: Silhouette.

OK so please excuse a few things here.

Firstly, I think this is genuinely the first vid posted with Silhouette outside of Mannequins official launch (I have no cheat sheet except the WIP manual!), and so some of the function descriptions aren't super crisp - if you like this video then I will record a follow up with more of an in-depth look.

Secondly, there's only one patch here, and I haven't yet even got around to trying mixing CV!

Finally, I have a horrible cold, and so apologies for the mouthbreathing. Not even a noise gate could filter it out!

That said, here's my first day intro to Silhouette by Mannequins. YMMV!"
