The audio output of the left Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 The Matrix Algorithmic Composer module is patched to the CV input on the Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine. The CV output on the right SSL 1660 is patched to the S-1000 pulser. The Corsynth VCLFO is patched to the S-1000 filter CV. The audio output of the right 1660 runs through the MegaOhm CdS VCF/A lopass gate. ALM Pamela’s New Workout clocks the left 1660 and triggers the S-1000 and the left 1660 gate output clocks the right 1660."

Dreadbox Murmux Adept #2 | Winterdagen

video upload by Winterdagen

"I love how warm the Dreadbox Murmux Adept sounds. I've had Murmux for a couple of weeks now and I'm still incredibly happy with it. An important test for a synth for me is how it sounds combined with my piano. So this afternoon I recorded this little piece. I think they sound lovely together :-)

ps. apparently I accidentally bumped the right mic forward just before recording this.

Thanks for listening!"

The Behringer Syncussion is amazing for melodies | Winterdagen

video upload by Winterdagen

"I bought a Behringer syncussion for its weird s&h percussion sounds, which are very cool. But as it turns out, it's also a lovely synth for melodies.

For this piece I made use of a minimal music technique called phasing which I love. Check out a lovely ‪@loopop‬ video on doing it with samples here: • Sampler trick: Steve Reich/William Ba... [2nd video here] Both voices on the Syncussion play the same melody, but on one part the loop is one 8th note shorter, making the two voices drift further away from each other on each rotation. With some help from the Strymon Volante and Erica Synths Zen Delay this turned into a quite hypnotising little exploration."

Introducing VProm 3.0

video upload by Aly James Lab

"Over the years, VPROM has become a staple in music production, celebrated for its accurate variable sample rate emulation of classic DACs and its ability to load swappable EPROM samples. Now, with the release of VPROM 3.0, I am taking things to the next level. This major upgrade enhances both features and usability. While previous versions excelled at replicating EPROM-based drum machines, primarily the LM-1, Version 3.0 expands its capabilities even further."

VProm 3.0 Uncut Live Walk-through - Sampling Stuff - Part 1

video upload by Aly James Lab

"NEW in VProm 3.0 : Sample/Convert/Burn

-VProm now features a built-in EPROM creator, allowing you to generate custom EPROM binary files without any external tools and ready for use in VPROM or hardware drum machines.

Import any .wav file and sample it just like in the classic hardware days. The resampling process uses a crude emulated R2R ADC with tweakable input settings and home-made tweaks* before capturing at ≈ 27 kHz. If the original .wav file rate is less or equal than 27 kHz, resampling is bypassed. You can also disable the resampling stage if needed.

Once sampled, preview the file with µLaw 8bit (12bit quality) compression applied or save it directly as a µLaw-encoded .bin EPROM file.

Maximum EPROM size is 64K ≈ 2.5 seconds @ 27Khz —larger sampled .wav files will be automatically truncated to fit during sampling."

Patchmaking on the Novation Summit Synthesizer

video uploads by copenhagennoiselab

Playlist:

1. Novation Summit - 2 noisy emotional synthesizer patches
A short showoff of two nice patches I made for the Novation Summit Synthesizer showing a different kind of sounds that can be created with this versatile synth. Enjoy it.
2. Patchmaking on the Novation Summit Synthesizer - how I work with it and makes the most out of it!
"This is a programming session on my Novation Summit synthesizer - showing some tricks and how you can work with lots of modulation and get some noisy and dirty sounds out of the Summit. It is not necessarily the most common type of sounds from this synth. But it has some clever mod matrix setups that can be used.

The sound was recorded straight from the Novation Summit output to a Zoom H6 recorder, also recording the talk... No external processing.

My hope is that this video can give some insight into different ways of working with this synthesizer."

Hardware Jams Weekend Challenge - Cadmium [WIP], Periodic Table

video upload by SynthAddict

"Maschine+

The tempo is the atomic mass of Cadmium, rounded off (112).

Cadmium metal has high toxicity.

Cadmium was used in NiCd batteries for decades until NiMH and Li-Ion batteries replaced them.

Cadmium is still used as a component of control rods in nuclear fission reactors and in CdS photocells for light sensors and modular vactrol circuits.

A cadmium-dependent carbonic anhydrase (enzyme) has been found in marine diatoms in place of the usual zinc version."
