5 Ways to Enhance Eurorack Patches with Interpolating Scanners // Unique Sound Design & Modulation

video upload by DivKid

"Here's a video with 5 patches showing relatively simple ways to enhance what you have in your Eurorack modular synth with interpolating scanners. Whether it's searching for unique sounds and tones from your oscillators or morphing creatively through your modulation sources.

I'll be using the Vostok Instruments & DivKid Trace module throughout but these patches are applicable to many of the options for scanning that are now in Eurorack and some of them will work well with standard CV controlled switches too."

80s YAMAHA Rhythm Machine RX17 & Kasane Teto sampled OP-1 field | Resolve 2025-11-11 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"This piece was created using the ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, ‪@NordKeyboards‬ Nord Lead, ‪@YamahaSynthsOfficial‬ RX17, MU15, and MOTIF-RACK ES. It combines rhythm machine beats, melodies made from sampled vocals of 重音テト Kasane Teto SV, and live bass performance.

On the OP-1 field, the sampler contains Kasane Teto’s voice, which is used to create melodic phrases. At certain points, looping is applied through the NTS-3, and the signal is processed with the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII.

The RX17 rhythm machine is recorded with an ALESIS 3630 compressor applied.

On the MU15, synth sounds are performed using its built-in keyboard, with reverb added via the blueSky.

The Nord Lead plays melodic parts in the middle section of the piece, processed through the ‪@gfisys‬ Specular Tempus for delay.

The bass is recorded through a SANSAMP Bass Driver DI, routed directly into the audio interface for a clean yet warm tone."

Yamaha DX7 Synthesizer from 1985–some favorite Custom Presets

video upload by Tom Loncaric

"Earlier this year, a friend gifted me this beat up Yamaha DX7 MKI. A sticker on the back indicates it was manufactured in 1985. A technician replaced the felts and rebuilt the keyboard. Apparently someone had spilled some sort of beverage inside! I also installed a new OLED display and the Special Edition ROM chip, which adds some useful features.

Since then, I’ve dragged the DX7 all over the United States, from Nashville to New York. It actually performs very well at concerts. This video showcases some of my favorite presets. The presets are gathered from various sources, including ones on the HyperSynth Hcard-101 cartridge, Bo Tomlyn cartridges, and believe it or not, DX7 patch books from the 1980s. I made a couple presets from scratch, however it took many hours—one must be extremely patient! Only one preset is from the factory Yamaha collection, and that is the infamous “E. Piano 1” sound.

Everything played live straight into an iPad.

Effects used:
Meris MercuryX reverb
Strymon Volante delay
Strymon Lex rotary speaker simulator"

Molli Looper mangling the Elektron Syntakt

video upload by Elastic Instruments (Oliver Greschke)

"Molli Looper 🔁 – the looper that never forgets! Available on iOS, Mac & PC.

In this video the Elektron Syntakt goes into an Arturia Audiofuse soundcard which is connected to my iPhone. The iOS app AUM is receiving Audio from the Syntakt and Molli Looper is running as AUv3 effect on the Audio Input with the Elektron Syntakt.

Molli Looper is a realtime stereo effect for looping and filtering. Intended mainly as an easy to use live performance tool, no preparation is needed to trigger loop recording - input is constantly recorded in the background to be triggered whenever it is needed.

Noise therapy in playdate

video upload by errorinstruments paul tas

"Interesting small setup — this little thing really makes us happy at @errorinstruments 💥

With the @playdate.by.panic Resonance and the amazing developer @orllewin, we’ve been experimenting with FX Noise Therapy to create those beautifully imperfect, tape-like and wobbly textures. 🎛️✨

It’s a minimal setup, but it delivers so much atmosphere — perfect for ambient explorations, experimental noise, and on-the-go sound design sessions. Compact, creative, and ready to travel anywhere inspiration strikes. 🌍🎶"
