Modal Electronics Cobalt 8M - No talking demo

video upload by ADL-MusicLab

"Hi, everyone!

Here's to you my 'No talking demo' of the amazing Cobalt 8M by Modal Electronics.

Cobalt 8 is an 8 voice extended Virtual Analog synthesiser that unlocks the full creative potential of analogue waveforms. This powerful, inspiring instrument reinvents the aesthetics of analogue sounds and invites musicians, producers and sound designers to explore a new era of virtual-analogue synthesiser textures, far beyond the limits of its analogue forefathers.

On top of the innovative oscillator engine of COBALT8, it also has a massive arsenal of inspiring morphable and static filters. Combined with Modal’s unparalleled modulation options, an inspiring real-time / step sequencer, the energising arpeggiator, MPE, studio-quality effects and MODALapp integration, COBALT8 is the perfect synth for everyone who wants a versatile electronic music instrument to play vintage synth sounds and is eager to enter new sound dimensions.

Eight true polyphonic voices tempt players to lay out wide string or rich synth pad chords, while a monophonic bass or lead patch, played with 64 oscillators can shake the walls of every stadium. And with the avant-garde sound forming features, every synth enthusiast can refine his performance with sounds that no other synthesiser is able to generate."

ERICA SYNTHS HEXDRUMS 08 // LØSTLVLS

video upload by LØSTLVLS

"Really enjoyed the last 'clean' HexDrums video so thought I'd make another, this time using the Cymbals voices to add some sampled chord stabs.

Check out my sample packs on Bandcamp - loads of vintage and modern gear (leaning towards drum machines) with kits, sample chains and presets. All ethically-sourced and locally-grown here in the lab in Bristol, UK: https://lostlvls.bandcamp.com/"

RoaR OSC for Korg NTS-1

video upload by Tweeeeeak!

Also see RoaT Also see RoaT. "Random sounds and sequences, in this simple Oscillator for Korg Nutekt NTS-1

This Oscillator is free. Download link:

https://github.com/tweeeeeak/nts/blob...

(Follow me on X: https://x.com/tweeeeeak)

RoaR is a very simple oscillator that randomly generates digital sounds and sequences, with a simple turn of a knob.

Each sound can be a simple patch or a rhythmic (16 step) sequence.

You can play simple, tuned and playable sounds, or go wild with glichy, complex and total random sounds.

Rhythmic sequences can also by synced to the ARP or SEQ, or external equipment."

12/10-19/25 Metasonix D-2000 + Make Noise Maths + Roland SH-101 + Gieskes Starving Binary + (…)

video upload by Cfpp0

"12/10-19/25 Metasonix D-2000 + Make Noise Maths + Roland SH-101 + Gieskes Starving Binary + Alesis MIDIVERB II + Peavey 1310 + Yamaha EM-100 + DBX 119 + ElectroComp EML 200

This was a test from earlier this month of a rack we installed above the Metasonix D-2000. There are two Make Noise Maths and a Gieskes Starving Binary triggering the D-2000. The D-2000 is heard as is, but it is also heard through the DBX 119, which gates the signal, and also gates a drone from the ElectroComp EML 200, which is fed through the DBX 119 at the same time. The Roland SH-101 is played manually, through a Peavey 1310 delay into a Yamaha EM-100 mixer, with the preamps cranked up and the internal spring reverb on. Everything has some Alesis MIDIVERB II."

"I went all out and got every option possible and best sides and ordered extra cables. This works like a charm, and is somewhat heavy, keep that in mind if you decide to strap it on during your next mountain climb. Insured and packed well."

Rhodes Chroma Synthesizer, Restored & Upgraded

Video in the listing previously posted here.

"This Rhodes Chromas is in perfect working order, sounds absolutely great, and has been thoroughly updated & reconditioned:

• CC+ Kit Installed – The original CPU board has been removed and replaced with the fabulous CC+ kit. The Chroma CC+ Kit (CPU Plus) significantly upgrades the original Rhodes Chroma synthesizer by adding essential modern features like integrated MIDI, much more program storage (200 programs in 4 banks) instead of the original's limited space, better control over parameters, and expanded MIDI functionality. It essentially modernizes the vintage keyboard, making it fully controllable via MIDI and allowing for complex patch management. It also replaces the original battery-backed memory with non-volatile RAM, eliminating the need to replace the batteries, and removing the danger of battery acid damage.

• MIDI Adapter Included – The Chroma can now send and receive MIDI. With its wooden, velocity-sensitive keyboard, it becomes a fantastic MIDI controller.

• New Power Supply Installed – The original power supply included a large, heavy transformer, and generated a lot of heat. The new switching power supply, designed in Italy specifically for the Chroma, is energy-efficient, reliable, and regulated, ensuring that the Chroma will be stable and noise-free.

• Serviced – All voice cards have had new capacitors installed. All faulty 4000-series logic chips have been replaced, along with several faulty op-amps. Faulty traces and connectors have been replaced.

All voices pass auto-tune test and play perfectly. We’ve burned in the Chroma for 8+ hours and it works perfectly and stays in tune. All keys have been removed and cleaned, and the action feels great. All key contacts have been cleaned and work correctly, with good velocity response.

Cosmetically, the Chroma has some scratches and marks from its 40+ years of use, but overall it’s quite presentable as you can see in the photos.

The Chroma includes the original flight case – however, the foam has gone bad, and has been removed. The flight case would need to be re-foamed to be used to transport the instrument.

The Chroma is available for pickup in Las Vegas, Nevada. We can also personally deliver the Chroma to the Los Angeles, Phoenix, or St. George areas for $150.

The attached video demonstrates the Chroma playing three of the factory preset sounds.

I also have a video showing all 8 voice cards (16 oscillators, 16 filters, 16 VCAs) passing auto-tune without any errors that I can send upon request."

"The servicing work included recapping the power supply, changing the electrolytic and tantalum capacitors throughout the unit, cleaning/lubing the front panel potentiometers.

Cosmetically its in really clean overall condition, with only minor marks and blemishes."
