Ensoniq Fizmo
"The FIZMO is prone to having the regulator and power supply fail. The regulator on this FIZMO has been professionally replaced and upgraded by Muzik Elektronix. Included in the auction is a US Robotics power supply which is superior to the original."
KORG DW8000

"The Korg DW8000 is the bigger brother to the DW6000.... It was released a year or so before the M1. Have analog synthesis sections... with very nice filters... this DW8000 model doubles the waveforms of the DW6000 to give you 16, doubled at 2 per voice to give 8 note poly of 2 osc' voices........ but..... Like the 106, you can do a Unison mode to stack the 16 oscillators !... The 8000 also has excellent Korg analog filters... they go to self-resonance for squeel-appeal. The 8000 even has an onboard arpeggiator which can clock to midi, and is velocity & aftertouch sensitive.... Other features include Midi In, Out and Thru; cassette interface; stereo outs; foot switch control for patch changing, portamento and sustain; 64 memories; aftertouch keyboard; arpeggiator and ... yup !!....a built-in digital delay unit."
Note the KORG Voice Editor Software.
SUZUKI UNISYNTH XG-1 GUITAR SYNTHESIZER

"vintage 80's era SUZUKI UNISYNTH XG-1 GUITAR SYNTHESIZER, these are somewhat hard to find, uses (6) C batteries or power pack, the strings are actually some kind of rubbery plastic rails that you fret like a normal guitar, they do not bend though, the guitar

Sequential Circuits Prophet 2002

via this auction
"This is the rack mount version of the legendary Prophet 2000. It is a 12-bit sampler with analog filters and sound generation. It has twice the memory of the original Prophet 2000. The built in floppy drive allows you to store settings and samples. It's a big, heavy piece of gear."
Marion Systems ProSynth

"Marion ProSynth Analog/Digital Synthesizer
Built in 1996 By Tom Oberheim

I had read in keyboard magazine that Tom Oberheim was designing a new synth module. I was a fan after listening to his earlier Oberheim synths. I later saw an advertisement in keyboard magazine that the synth was completed and shipping. I called the listed phone number to order the Marion prosynth and got a answering machine. Later that day I got a return phone call and to my surprise it was Tom Oberheim. He said he would put one together for me. I asked him to sign it for me and he did. It has been in my studio ever since."

Oberheim OB-12 Review on Celiar Structures

One of the reasons claimed by those who dislike it is that "it is not a true Oberheim". That's mostly true because it seems that no one of those who worked At Oberheim Electronics was involved in the creation of this synth, but that doesn't means it's a bad synth at all."

John Bowen Solaris Upate
"From the Planetz forums...
[John Bowen]:
'An update on pricing and availability has been posted on my Purchase page.
Here's an excerpt from a message I sent to all those who had made pre-order deposits, to clarify the situation:
"Klaus is the ideal candidate to oversee the conversion and upgrade of the special Scope modules that I hoped to add to the Solaris system (even though we originally had no idea we would one day have access to these). This last point is important, in that the process is not nearly as simple or easy as I thought it would be, and in fact, has caused a bigger delay than I expected.
"When I arrived in Germany last week, it was clear that I had a choice - either release the Solaris around late December (as I've been planning) but without the Minimax, SSM, and CEM filter (and oscillator), or give it more time to get the 'goodies' from the Scope library that I had wanted...
"So, this is where we stand: I am going to take more time on it, to give Klaus plenty of opportunity to get things as best as possible, because we all desire to have a product that holds to the high quality and excellence that has been at the core of what I've always tried to represent in my products. This delay will add 3 months to the schedule, with production starting in February and delivery as soon as possible thereafter (end of Feb. or early March)."
cheers,
john b.'"
Creamware Prodyssey Videos and MP3s
via SillonS:
"I finally made some videos of the Creamware Prodyssey. VIdeo quality is quite bad, I used a pic camera, don't have a real camera. Audio was recorded on the laptop soundcard, mono since the unit FX is bypassed (the synth is mono but the FX unit is stereo). Mp3 sounds of the videos are available too and I made some extra mp3 files. I tried to upload to YouTube but so far it doesn't work, seems there servers are having pb.I'll try later or tomorrow. Meanwhile here is the link."
I will put the YouTube vids up as well, as they go up. Thanks ScillonS!
Update: here they are.

Tweaking the Paia 9700S
Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 Manual from 1979
"Written by Tom Darter in 1979, it's a loose leaf three ring binder with a clear vinyl cover. Contains patch sheets of all the factory presets, as well as several blank patch sheets, which is a bit odd considering that it was one of the first fully programmable synths. It says that this is Model 1000, so I don't know what Rev Prophet this is for. I assume it's one of the early ones."

"My interpretation of Oxygene 8 composed by the king of electronic music J.M.Jarre in 1997. I dedicate this song to my YouTube friends. Thanks for your support! Special thanks to Daichi for creating Synth1."
Synth1 is one of the best soft synths out there, although the developer is Ichiro Toda. You can find it here. I'm not sure if Daichi is the same person and if the Synth1 referred here is the same. Also note the screen shots towards the end of the video are of Superwave P8, a JP-8000 clone which is pretty decent as well.

Synthmonger - MFOS SLMS Vs. PG
"www.musicfromouterspace.com soundlab mini-synth built by me, meets my Pattern Generator. The PG is controlling Osc 1 and Osc 2 frequency and the Attack Release generator. The AR is controlling the Filter cutoff and for a short time the VCA. It's actually a pretty simple patch for a very complex pattern."
"Same setup as the first video, only different mixes from the PG and speed. Autechre like beats are made when the two VCO's are sync'd together." YouTube via synthmonger.

Internal Power Components
QPS1 Power Supply
QDH20 DC Power Harness
Modules
1) Q104 MIDI Interface
Creates control voltages and gate signals from MIDI keyboards and other MIDI devices.
1 Q105 Slew Limiter
Limits the rate of change of a signal. Useful for creating Glissando (Portamento), as an envelope generator, or a gate delay.
3 Q106 Oscillators
The Oscillator generates the basic waveforms needed to create sounds. Oscillators can also be used to generate control signals for amplifiers, filters, pan/fade and more. Provides 5 waveforms simultaneously, linear FM, exponential FM, hard sync, pulse width modulation, range selection and fine frequency tuning.
1 Q107 State Variable Filter
State Variable Filter providing Low Pass, High Pass, Notch, and Band Pass. Used to alter the harmonic content of waveforms. Includes voltage controlled resonance (Q) with a reversable attenuator, attenuatable frequency control, 1V/Octave frequency control, and a 2 channel mixer.
2 Q108 Amplifiers
Used to control the amplitude of an audio or control signal. Linear and exponential responses, dual control and signal inputs, and normal and inverted outputs.
2) Q109 Envelope Generators
Creates envelopes that are used to control filters, amplifiers, oscillators, etc. Attack, decay, sustain, release controls, manual triggering, LED output indicator. Can also be used as a gate delay.
1 Q110 Noise Source
Source of random signals used to create sounds such as thunder, drums, etc. and to create random control signals. White, pink, and low frequency random outputs with amplitude controls.
Up to 4 signals are mixed together. Manual attenuation of 2 inputs
1 Q116 Ring Modulator
Creates unusual sounds by multiplying 2 signals. Used for gong, bell, and many strange sounds.
1 Q117 Sample & Hold
Samples and holds a signal's voltage level constant - basically an analog memory. Output signals are normally used to control other modules. Often used in conjunction with the Q110 Noise module, or with an oscillator to create stairstep patterns.
1 Q124 Multiples

Transformer's Goes Modular

"When you see the film [Transformers] you'll be hearing a lot of distinct bass sounds. The main deep and dirty bass. A basic patch on my modular. For those that are interested is goes like this. 2xPlan B OSC (square/saw) into a doepfer phaser - the big one - out into a cwejman DMF-2 (a+b) 32dbx2 LPF. One side of the AB slightly higher than the other. ADSR into filter - adjust to taste. Overdrive the filter on one side, A or B, it end up being mono anyway, and one side keep it really low so you can't tell it's distorted. Feed into cwejman VCA2P that has a separate ADSR than the filter. And that's it. There's the 'Transformer's' Bass sound. So when you see the movie and wonder what the fuck that sound is, that's it. The only variation is some FM synthisis using Cynthia's Zero Osc and sometimes using a doepfer waveshaper.
All of this goes into my shadow hills pre/e27/560eq/and 1968 drawmer comp, just for more thickness and punch.
That's the only trick. The rest is layering with other sounds to add variation. Sounds from the neuron & nuke (waveguitar in particular)
Another thing to be sure of when getting a big cutting bass sound. Roll off your bass 50hz. You can add it later with EQ if you really need it. If there is a lot happening musically, you'll need the headroom."

Serge Plexiglass VCS

via this auction
"this is a very special Bananalogue Serge VCS module, only the second one we've made with a plexiglass front panel, and the first in the Frac Rack format. This module is based on the classic Serge DUSG module (possibly the single most flexible synth module ever created), you can find much more information about the module at our website.
This module is a special one-off Frac Rack VCS created with a translucent red plexi front panel, red indicator LED and red switch cap, with yellow laser engraved legends. Fits fine in a Blacet or PAIA brand Frac Rack and works great alongside Wiard/Blacet/PAIA/MetalBox/etc etc modules in this form factor. However, since the panel is plastic it is more prone to scratching and care MUST be taken when mounting the module not to tighten the mounting screws too tight or the panel could crack. I would actually recommend using some small rubber or plastic washers between the mouting screws and the actual module. When it's in the rack with the LED blinking away the module looks pretty neat!"

"Van Halen performs "Jump" in Greensboro, NC on September 29, 2007."
This one has been making its rounds. In case you missed it, word is the OB-Xa synth piece is a recording being incorrectly played back at a sample rate of 48k instead of 44.1k - completely out of tune against Eddie Van Halen's guitar. Don't miss David Lee Roth's baton performance after the horrendous guitar solo as well as him riding a huge inflatable microphone shortly after.

OB-Xa 0385 MIDI Kit

"If you click twice on "Chord" you'll get into a sort of second page, like on the OB8. (you'll notice because the burning leds will change and you won't be able to choose any preset sounds anymore). If you press "Write" plus 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8, you will choose the desired midichannel. Without doing this procedure you will stay in omnimode. Unfortunately this is non volatile(?) so every time you turn the ob-xa on, you'll have to do this. The midi interface enables you to send program changes and pitchbend info to the Oberheim. You can also dump sounds through system exclusive, but I can't recall how unfortunately. BUT you should ber able to check it out against this manual of an encore midi kit. Although it's a different kit, just by trying I found out the same sort of programmability. I think with the A, B, C and D knobs something must be achieved in terms of sysex dumping etc. http://www.encoreelectronics.com/ob8mk.pdf"

Upcoming Compact Clone "Krautrock Phaser" via JH

Jomox Sunsyn
"SERIAL No. 0060
Jomox introduces their first major analog real-time synthesizer. It's a true analog with 8 voices (4- and 6-voice versions available) housed in a classic looking desktop-style case with wood end-cheeks, 40 knobs, 42 buttons and 85 LED's! It's also rack-mountable if you prefer.
The SunSyn features 2 analog oscillators (VCO's) per voice. The waveforms include sawtooth, square and pulse with pulsewidth-modulation. But in addition to these are the new Ramp Controlled Oscillators (RCO's). The RCOs follow the VCO characteristics like modulation, sync, tuning and frequency alterations. The RCO's use digital sounds which come from 4 wavesets, each with 256 waveforms each. In effect, these digital sounds get an analog treatment for nicer, warmer and fatter tones. There are 4 RCO's per voice and wavesets can be added via PCMCIA-card.
The filter section is also a true analog design but with very modern features. It is a 4-pole filter but fully configurable with independent high pass and low pass features available. Create filters that range from the sounds of a Minimoog, to the squelchy 303. Filter settings can be stored in one of two scene memories and real-time Morphing between scenes can be accomplished.
As for modulation, JoMoX has devised a clever Routing System for the SunSyn, turning it into an 8-voice modular! It is used to virtually patch between various modules or parameters. There are up to 4 Routing Elements per voice with 4,096 possible combinations per Routing Element. Modulation paths are configured using the front panel display screens. This modular approach to signal routing is a feature usually found only on the huge, expensive classic Modular synths by ARP, E-mu, Moog and Buchla. Unlike those, however, the SunSyn features complete patch memory (350 patches and 150 multi-patches) and multitimbral MIDI implementation. Most parameters can be controlled by MIDI, and controller/editor templates for most sequencers will be, or already are available. As for output, there are stereo outs, 8 freely routable individual outs and a stereo input to run external audio through the Routing system.
The new SunSyn is a true analog synth built for the wealthy synthesists of today. For total analog control and sounds, check out the SunSyn, especially if you can afford it!
Specifications:
Polyphony - 8 voices (4- and 6- voice models available too)
