VINTAGE (2000) WALDORF SYNTH CATALOG
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"This is a rare twelve page (including covers) year 2000 vintage Waldorf Electronics "Enthusiasts Synthesizing Machines" catalog I picked up at the Anaheim NAMM show during the time I was designing synths for another company. I was so impressed with the graphic design that I have kept it in excellent condition since then.
The colors are quite solid and the arc diecut on the the right is quite striking (and I am not ashamed to say I used that style cut in a car audio catalog a couple of years later).
The style and font choices were quite progressive and advanced for the time. The catalog was designed by Alex Hartmann DesignBox which also did the industrial design for the synths... EBay is blocking my link to an interview with him about it, but Alex is interviewed here about his work for Waldorf at synthtopia (dot) com... just google "DesignBox" "Waldorf" and "Alex Hartmann" and you will find it)
For both synth historians, industrial designers and graphic designers this is a part of history you will probably never find for sale again.
In the images in this listing, I am showing only the first few pages in the catalog but the remaining pages are similarly intense and beautiful and also in great condition."

Bernhard Wöstheinrich w/Ombient: Live 13 April 2019 (excerpt)
Published on Apr 23, 2019 Chuck van Zyl
"Bernhard Wöstheinrich speaks in his own musical voice. The musical arc of his work often moves from the curiously beautiful to the beautifully curious. Fully formed and thoughtful energetic works are driven by a firm pulse amidst simultaneously sounding musical lines. With harmonies trailing behind melodies these shimmering works disintegrate into swirling un-anchored abstractions of sustained tonal ambiance. Together with Electronic Musician Ombient (Mike Hunter) this duo pulls off a collaborations of startling brilliance.

Composing video game music with only one synth (Waldorf Blofeld)
Published on Dec 2, 2018 once upon a synth
"I attempt to compose music for an imaginary RPG video game called 'Super Synth Nerd'. I'm using only one synth for all the sounds. The synth is the Waldorf Blofeld which is a digital polyphonic synth which can do wavetable synthesis as well as traditional subtractive synthesis. #onesynthchallenge
I decided to approach this using a narrative story arc. So we start in a happy place, then the hero enters a tavern and gets assigned a mission. He then goes off on his adventure when suddenly he runs into a boss (a ghost). After beating the boss everything is good in the world. The End. lol... ok I had to keep it super generic and compact otherwise this would have taken too long.
The pixel art at the end of the video was drawn and animated with Hexels 3. This is my first attempt at making pixel art so go easy on me :)."

Motas-6 synth plays OMD Joan of Arc (demo 07)
Published on Jul 6, 2018 MotasSynth
"Motas-6 synth demo 07 - playing extract from OMD's 'Maid of Orleans' (Joan of Arc) with some external reverb applied.
Several independent LFO modulations have been used on the master pitch, individual oscillator pitch, PWM (oscillators 1 and 3) and filter frequencies to try to re-create the wow-and-flutter sound of the legendary Mellotron used on the original.
The haunting tune is programmed into the Motas-6 internal pattern sequencer which plays in an endless loop whilst the Motas-6 parameters are adjusted.
The Motas-6 paraphonic capabilities are used with oscillator 1 tracking the highest note played, oscillator 2 the middle and oscillator 3 the lowest.
As the tune plays the 3 filter settings and mix levels (including the internal feedback control to the mixer) are adjusted, as well as phase modulation on oscillators 2 and 3. The mixer gain is adjusted - listen for the rich distortion caused from over-driving the filters (starting at 3:13) with the mixer gain set to 'boost'. Also look out for the spectrum analyser display at the end that tracks the notes showing the harmonics."

G-Minus: Teletype i2c Ecosystem
Published on Apr 18, 2018 Dudadius
"Practicing with some live performance ideas.
Monome Teletype is attached to Telex expanders, 2 Ansibles, and Orthogonal Devices ER-301. Kria is running on the Grid, and it is playing 3 voices of the E370 VCO into a Cwejman QMMF4. 4th voice is Atlantis. Varigate 8 is playing some drum modules, including a couple of Noise Engineering bits.
Arc is playing Levels, which is controlling some parameter associated with the Granular playback of a pad sound that I sample from the PPG Wave 2.2. It is triggered by a script running a Euclidean Rhythm that gets varied by one of the Telex parameter knobs.
I have a side-chain WMD compressor set up with submixing in a Mixup. Overseer filter at the end of the entire chain."
