"Quick demo of the various 808 style Trap bass tones you can get from a Korg Volca Kick. #808s #trap #korgvolca This is by no means a song or full composition of course merely a short demonstration for those who may not know this side of the device. What I ended up doing was sampling some notes and creating sampler patches to use in Ableton live. I feel using this Volca as the sound source gives the samples that extra bit of analogue warmth that I wouldn't get from a soft synth. Not saying soft synths are bad just saying it's nice to have different sources and tones to use and it's also fun to experiment!"

"My honest not so stoked review of Korg Electribe Wave. For the price ($19.99 intro price soon to be $29.99) this app does not pack a lot of sounds and features compared to other apps like Grooveride GR-16. This is a fun app don't get me wrong BUT it has a handful of shortcomings that just really bummed me out. It doesn't support AUv3 or IAA. You get 25 presets for the synth. There is no metronome click or count in. There is no undo/redo. The init patterns all contain a small amount of midi information instead they should just be blank IMO. Overall I'm kinda bummed when originally I wanted to be stoked about this app. Let's hope Korg adds some features for free in a future update and not in app purchases."

"Hey everyone I was so stoked when Matthew Fetcher asked me to create some presets for the world's first FREE open source synthesizer for iPad. This is just another cutting edge one of it's kind projects that I've been involved in over the past two decades and I'm honored to be a small part of it. This video demonstrates what I did with some of my own sounds using nothing but Synth One and my DAW. I recorded the midi tracks as audio and printed them direct from my iTrack Dock and Synth one. I did not process these sounds other than EQ the tracks. All of the sounds you hear are from my preset kit in Synth One including the drums. Thank you for watching.

"Was sketching out an action suspense drones and pluses jam on my Dave Smith Tempest and though hey why not video it. So this is a rough sketch. I love working on this genre. I have several of these types of songs on TV most of which are in the show Wicked Tuna but I also have some in Lock Up, Growing Up Hip Hop, and Shark Week. I will tighten up the tom tom part at the end. Will probably multi track sever tom tom sounds to give it a nice big build up. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel for more."

"Cinemax announced Rytmik Ultimate for iPad. Rytmik was originally for the Nintendo DS. The Ultimate version includes all of the sounds from previous versions of Rytmik and then some hence ULTIMATE. The following video is a first impression sounds walk through. I spent about an hour with the app and had a lot of fun listening to each sound so I decided to show you what you can expect from Rytmik Ultimate. Most of the demos I heard were more about the 8 bit Chiptune sound so hopefully this will give you a better idea as to what the OTHER sounds in this app are about. I plan to spend a lot more time with this app. Version one does not feature Audiobus IAA or MIDI support. You can export your work as a wav file.

This was an extremely fun project to work on. Sound Trends hired me to create this set for their app Looptastic. I immediately looked around the house for things to record. Everything fell into place perfectly. I hung two microphones out a window from our TV room during a storm. The gutters above stuck out just enough to protect the mics from the rain. Then there was rolling thunder and lots of it. It was so perfect. Luckily we had loose floor board that creaked when stepped on. Our cat is very vocal so he had a little something say in this set. The synthesizers used were a Korg Micro X and a Nord Lead 3. Singer and friend from my group Johann Smit performed all the scary voices.
