Doepfer A-100 Eurorack Analog Modular Synthesizer with Extras

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

Comes with a binder of the owner's manual.

"This is the perfect Eurorack synthesizer for anyone who wants to get into the world of analog modular synthesis. I purchased this Eurorack roughly six months ago from Analogue Haven, and it is in pristine condition. I have been the only user to ever touch it, and I have cared for it like a priest cares for a holy object. It has never traveled anywhere and never ever been outdoors, and it's been kept in a ventilated space that's never gone above 76 degrees or below 60 degrees Farenheit. I designed this rack to be both MIDI-capable, so that you can seamlessly integrate this with your DAWs (Ableton, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc.), midi controllers, and all other midi-capable equipment. Also, it has both consumer and professional line outs (+4dBu for left and right) in 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch or 3.5mm for an easy signal path straight to any mixer, audio interface (ADC), speakers, or amplifier. It's as easy to plug in as an electric guitar!

And speaking of cables, it comes with 64, fully functioning 3.5mm (1/8 inch) high-quality patch cables.

Although this analog modular synthesizer is perfect for entry-level musicians and sound designers, it is by no means limited. This has every vital module that is required to experiment, compose, and produce music utilizing the most important and powerful aspects of analog synthesis. While a full listing of modules can be found below, major components include dual oscillators, dual ADSR envelope generators, dual filters, dual ring modulators, dual amplifiers, dual mixers, dual LFOs, dual sequencers (yes, that's right), dual buffered multiples, a dual quantizer, and a dual delay. Here is the full listing of Eurorack modules:

For a further in-depth visual guide to all the modules and the entire rack, google the ModularGRID website. Once there, search 'first doepfer A-100' and you can see this rack's profile.

REASON FOR SELLING: Life circumstances have forced me to journey someplace far, far away, and I cannot take my beloved synthesizer with me. This is painful moment and I would never sell this if I didn't have to. This is a perfect piece of musical machinery, and anyone who buys it will be very lucky."

Doepfer A100 Analog Modular System Synth Wood DIY Cabinet

YouTube via PlastikOD
"A short clip made with photos and soundsamples of my DOEPFER A-100 Modular System.

I sold the Doepfer a few years ago.

The Cabinet was Do-It-Yourself made to get them a more vintage look (which i prefer more than the design of today's) and very sturdy.
The Keyboard on the photos was a simple and cheap midi-masterkeyboard. The case of the keyboard was also DIY to get a close look of the cabinet and the keyboard.

I think the Doepfer A-100 is a bit overrated.
The Doepfer A-100 is good for noise and atonal stuff but it can't afford the full range and powerfull sound of the "old" modular systems.

The soundsample is an old and cheesy cassette recording so you can hear a lot of noise.

The modules:
A-110 VCO (x3)
A-114 Dual Ringmod.
A-118 Noise/Random
A-119 Ext.Input/Envellope Follower
A-120 VCF 24dB LowPass(Moog Filter)
A-121 VCF 12dB MultiFilter
A-124 VCF Wasp MultiFilter
A-130 VCA Linear
A-131 VCA Exponential
A-138 Mixer Linear
A-138 Mixer Exponential
A-140 ADSR (x2)
A-145 LFO (x2)
A-148 Dual Sample & Hold
A-170 Dual Slew Limiter
A-180 Multiples
A-185 Bus-Access
A-190 MIDI CV/SYNC Interface

Greetings from PlastikOD."

Vermona Perfourmer MK II 2 & Döpfer improvisation

Vermona Perfourmer MK II 2 Döpfer Dark Energy Dark Time A-100 live improvisation pure analog sounds

YouTube Uploaded by Tiefengrund on Dec 18, 2011
Second video below.

"Another Improvisation with my analog synthesizers.
The recording and mixing is absolutly live, on one track .
At the beginning you hear the "Tick Tick" Rythm by the A-111-5 Modul triggert by the A-155 Trigger sequencer.
And the Perfourmer makes the "Thunder"-Sound.
(with much delay) andThe Waldorf Blofeld is only used as a masterkeyboard for the Perfourmer.

In the video you here only analog sounds in a singletrack-recording without overdubs.
The leading sequence makes the Doepfer Dark Time, triggering the A-100 envelope generator.
The audiosignal from the two A-110 Oszillators is filtered by the A-120 Moog Type Filter.
The deep bass is a sine wave from one of the two A-110, bypasses the Filter and goes direct in the VCA.

KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist Analog Quadraphonic Mixer Teaser

Published on Mar 15, 2016 KOMA Elektronik

Playlist:

1. KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist Analog Quadraphonic Mixer Teaser

"Teaser video for the new KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist eurorack module. Analog quadraphonic sound recorded with a binaural microphone to illustrate quadraphonic sound best in stereo. The video starts off with the Bastl Tea Kick which is panned to all outputs with the field control. The bassline's panning is sequenced with the Komplex Sequencer. The noise hats come in and are sequenced via sample and hold. Lastly the pad is panned around from the Master Origin from a Intellijel Dixie sawtooth wave.

NOTE: Wear headphones to experience this video correctly. This is a binaural recording of the Poltergeist in a quadraphonic room to best display its capabilities in a stereo setting. Recorded with a Neumann KU-100 binaural mic courtesy of Bohemian Drips in a quadraphonic studio with Neumann KH-120 monitors at Noize Fabrik, Berlin.

For more information refer to the product page and manual: http://koma-elektronik.com/?product=p..."

2. KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist Example Patch: Crossover

"In this binaural stereo video, we illustrate the Poltergeist with the Crossover example patch from the manual. Input your synthesizer (Anti Oscillator to SVF-201 to Doepfer VCA/Doepfer ADSR) to one channel. Also take the pitch CV (which is sequenced from the Komplex Sequencer) to the Pan CV Input so the sound moves along with the melody. Komplex Sequencer Play Mode and Poltergeist Pan slope are changed throughout to evolve the patch.

NOTE: Wear headphones to experience this video correctly. This is a binaural recording of the Poltergeist in a quadraphonic room to best display its capabilities in a stereo setting. Recorded with a Neumann KU-100 binaural mic courtesy of Bohemian Drips in a quadraphonic studio with Neumann KH-120 monitors at Noize Fabrik, Berlin."

3. KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist Example Patch: Dopplerganger

"In this binaural stereo video, the Poltergeist is employed to create two alternating doppler effects. With a pitched sound going through 2 channels, use a slow attack envelope (PEG here) and connect to the Master Origin. Now take a triggerable LFO (Pingable LFO) and connect it to the VCA of both channels as well as the pitch of the VCO. Match the attack time of the envelope to one period of the LFO. Now set the Pan pot of the first channel so the sound comes from Quadrant 3 to Quadrant 1. The second channel is set so the sound moves from Quadrant 4 to 2. You will hear the same sound coming towards you from the front and from the back alternating with each other."

4. KOMA Elektronik Poltergeist Example Patch: Bruce Bickford

"The Poltergeist Quadraphonic mixer in action with the Bruce Bickford patch as found in the manual. Recorded with binaural microphone to illustrate better quadraphonic sound in stereo. Patch your hi-hat sound (in this case Doepfer Noise through the SVF-201 into the Poltergeist VCA that is CVed by the Doepfer ADSR) into a channel. Take the trigger for your hihats also to clock a S&H module that is processing noise. Then take the CV from the S&H into the channel's Pan CV to move the hihats randomly around the quadraphonic field.

Richard Lainhart - Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival Lecture & Performance

Richard Lainhart - Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival 2011

Slideshow of Richard Lainhart's lecture at the Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival (BEAF), Friday, May 6, 2:PM PST, 2011 (mentioned in this post). Below is a video of the Buchla and Haken Continuum portion of the lecture followed by a performance of Olivier Messiaen's Oraison written for the ondes Martenot at the 48:00 mark (see this post for the original version and this post for another performance by Richard). You will notice Richard makes references to earlier parts of the lecture. These included his training on the CEMS modular synthesizer system and the ondes Martenot (don't miss this post and this post on the CEMS). See the labels at the bottom of this post for more info on each. I will upload those videos at a later date. They were background to Richard's experience with early modular synthesizers and controllers that eventually lead him to the Buchla and Haken Continuum. It was a great lecture and I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to bookmark this one. I also want to thank Richard Lainhart for doing lectures like these. They are a rare treat.

"RICHARD LAINHART: BUCHLA AND HAKEN CONTINUUM LECTURE

Speaker: Richard Lainhart
Lecture Date: May 6, 2011
Lecture Time: 2:00 p.m. PST
Location: Western Washington University
Event: Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival 2011 (BEAF)
Length: Digital AVI recording; 57 minutes 32 seconds

[Beginning of recorded material]

Richard Lainhart: Okay. What I want to do now is actually talk a little bit about the system itself here and about the design of the system and explain what's actually happening here and why it's designed this way, and again, my focus on, on expression. So this is, as I mentioned, this is the Buchla 200E. This is a current electronic music instrument that is still being made now by Buchla. Don Buchla again was a contemporary, or is a contemporary of Bob Moog, and he took a very different path than Moog did. And one of the reasons I think that Moog's instruments became so popular, of course the Mini Moog was like the first real break-out electronic music synthesizer, was that Moog's instruments had keyboards on them. They had black and white keyboards. And you could use them to play, you could use them to play rock and roll with them basically because you could plug them into a really loud amplifier and it could be louder than a guitar. And it could be a bass, you know, it could be louder than a bass and all that sort of stuff. And of course a lot of, you know, a lot of wonderful music was made with that instrument.
