"The warm, lo-fi goodness of cassette tape married to the nostalgia and character of 80s home keyboards. Think of KazioTron Keys as a cassette Mellotron with vintage 80s home keyboard tapes.

Soft, mellow keys. Woozy emotive synths. Dirty, imperfect leads. These sounds are super fun to play.

Gear used: Casio VL1, SK1, MT70, MT18, CT201, CT301 and a sneaky little Yamaha PS3 bass sound. Multiple cassette decks and cassette types. Also, the odd modulation pedals for a little extra mojo. Tracked through 1073 and 501 pre-amps and a valve mixer.

Includes non-cassette versions of each instrument if you want pure vintage home keyboard sounds.

The packs come with patches for Kontakt, Logic Pro, Ableton Live and TAL-Sampler. The Kontakt version has an excellent user interface script.

Every sampler has a different sound and character. So each format will differ slightly from the others. The raw sounds, however, all sound the same in each format. Bear this in mind when listening to the audio demos."

Native Instruments Announces MASCHINE Expansions

"Berlin, April 14th, 2011 – Native Instruments has just introduced its new series of MASCHINE Expansions, affordable high-quality download libraries for its acclaimed groove production system. All expansions provide new drum kits and instruments as well as pre-programmed patterns created by expert sound designers and producers, and feature a distinctive take on a contemporary sound aesthetic or musical style. The series debuts with VINTAGE HEAT and TRANSISTOR PUNCH, created by Goldbaby and Surround SFX.

VINTAGE HEAT was created by distinguished sampling artist Goldbaby, and specializes on warm, saturated sounds with typical vintage grit. The library includes 50 charismatic kits with analog, digital and acoustic origins, complemented through 50 matching synthesizer sounds ranging from bass and leads to brass, pads and strings. All sounds in VINTAGE HEAT have been sampled from vintage drum machines and sought-after analog synths, and have been extensively processed with Goldbaby‘s unique array of classic compressors, effect units and valve tape machines to achieve his special signature sound. Inventive sampling techniques, including the mapping of successive tape delay repeats to different velocity layers, further contribute to the original and distinctive character of the VINTAGE HEAT library.

TRANSISTOR PUNCH takes its inspiration from contemporary European club music, and provides extremely crisp and punchy sounds for a wide range of electronic styles. Created by renowned sound designer Denis Gögdak of Surround SFX, the library contains 30 energetic drum kits as well as 50 new bass and lead sounds that integrate seamlessly with the factory library of MASCHINE. All sounds have been sampled from analog drum machines and synthesizers as well, to be meticulously processed with modern high-end outboard gear for an especially defined, forceful sound. TRANSISTOR PUNCH also adds 20 sophisticated multi-effect chains that provide instant sonic treatments for any groove, as well as a large collection of patterns by acclaimed producer Martin Buttrich.

VINTAGE HEAT and TRANSISTOR PUNCH are available for download purchase in the NI Online Shop for $59 / 49 EUR each.

Additional information on VINTAGE HEAT is available at

Goldbaby The FATJUNO-6 and Fat H3500 Sample Sets

via Goldbaby
"The Juno-6 was the first in the Juno series of Synthesizers. Released in 1982 it has become a legend for its warm, full sound and lush analog chorus. Intially this synth was going to be part of Fatso Synths Vol 2. However it became obvious early on that this synth, through the UBK Fatso, deserved its own product... I'm proud to present The FatJuno-6!"
Regarding the H3500:
"I have sampled two patches from the H3500 through the UBK Fatso. It was necessary to do 4 round robin layers for each note sampled as the sound changes each time you hit a note. So the result is kind of organic, albeit in a electronic way..."
You can find both sets at the Goldbaby blog here.

Animated Claps And Snaps

video upload by GoldbabySamples

"Goldbaby's Animated Claps and Snaps are now available. https://www.goldbaby.co.nz/animatedcl..."

"Round-robin sampled claps and snaps. Created using drum machines, real hands and a combination of both. Recorded through tasty hardware in the Goldbaby studio.

Round-robin is a method of sample playback where you can trigger different sampled versions of the same sound each time you hit the same key/pad. This can give natural variations in otherwise static patterns.

Alternatively, you don't have to use the round-robin feature and can use a single sample if you want a steady, non-animated sound.

With ready-to-play patches for Kontakt, Battery, Logic Pro, TAL-Drum, and Ableton Live.

Pack Contents:
• 1659 x 24-bit one-shot wav samples (237 x Claps & Snaps with 7 round robin layers each)
• Logic Pro (10.7 or higher) - 237 round-robin patches (can be loaded into Drum Machine Designer)
• Battery (4.3 or higher) - 237 x round-robin patches (can be loaded into Maschine)
• Kontakt (6.8 or higher) (full version only, not the free player) - 237 x round-robin patches (can be loaded into Maschine)
• Ableton Live (12.0.15 or higher) - 237 round-robin Instrument Racks (can be loaded into Drum Rack pads), 237 x round-robin Simpler patches (can be loaded into Drum Rack pads)
• TAL-Drum (2.6.4 or higher) -237 x round-robin pad patches"

The 8R8 sample pack by Goldbaby

video upload by GoldbabySamples

"The 8R8 sample pack. Available now: https://www.goldbaby.co.nz/8r8.html

Sounds from the 8raw8 recorded in the Goldbaby studio."

"Sounds from the 8Raw8, a lovely analog drum expander, handmade in France, that recreates the iconic analog drum voices of the legendary TR-808.

Why make another 808 pack? I have had three vintage TR-808s in my studio, along with a few analog and digital clones. I can honestly say that the 8Raw8 is the nicest-sounding of all of them, including the OG vintage ones.

Another reason I created this pack was to utilise the 8Raw8 kick drum tune modification. This pack has a massive selection of multi-sampled chromatic kicks you play across the keyboard. Congas and toms also get the chromatic treatment!

I didn't stop there. Not only did I capture the 8Raw8’s unprocessed sound, but I also recorded it through tasty hardware. I used the MPC60, Fat Bustard II valve mixer, Silver Bullet Mk2, SPL Transient Designer, EL Fatso, EZ1073 EQ and Pre (Neve), AnalogHeat+FX, various guitar pedals (Plasma, Chroma, FatRat, Prunes & Custard), Cassette Tape Echo, and more.

This pack is like an 808 on steroids!

Big Little Tonic Sample Pack from Goldbaby

Published on Nov 23, 2017 GoldbabySamples

"Big Little Tonic sample pack. Available now here: http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/blt.html"

"It’s not a small calculator, it’s a huge drum machine! The PO32 is the amazing collaboration between Teenage Engineering and Sonic Charge. A hardware drum machine that, when paired with it’s older brother the legendary software MicroTonic, can create almost unlimited drum sounds. Once loaded on the PO32 these sounds are raw, punchy and have a unique character all their own!

At first I was developing a sample pack based on a collection of mini hardware drum machines. However it soon became apparent that the PO32 deserved it’s own pack!

775 x 24 bit wav samples including drums, FX and even a few synth and bass sounds. All recorded through various studio hardware in the Goldbaby studio: UBK Fatso, ez1073-500 Pre & EQ, Fat Bustard II Valve mixer, Elektron Analog Heat, Strymon Deco, EM-PEQ Pultec style EQ. I even recorded a few of the sounds directly from the tiny PO32 speaker.

With kits and patches for: NI Maschine, Ableton Live, Geist, Battery, Kontakt, Logic EXS24 and Reason.

Also as a little bonus for those who own the Micro Tonic software I have included some of the patches I created while developing this sample pack."
