Here are some patch notes:
------------------------------------------------
- I've recorded Lekko and Janso from Felt Instruments into the Morphagene, Arbhar, Microcell, Mimeophon, and Magneto.
- The Morphagene is playing the recording back at half speed.
- Arbhar has pitch modulation on the playback so it plays it in jumps of octaves.
- Magneto is on Looper mode but also set to Shift mode so there's a change in pitch as well.
- Mimeophon is also looping the recording, but I mangled it a bit so there are hiccups in the sound every now and then.
- Microcell is set to Granular mode and I have the Noise Tools module modulating its position.
- I'm sending the flute first to LedRover from VoicAS for some extra warmth and crunch.
- The picture is of me with my father, and we used to drink Campari a lot together so that's this red liquid in the glasses."

Untold - Mimeophon, VCV Rack, NI Una Corda

Published on Sep 22, 2019 Omri Cohen

"This one is very minimal and needs a certain mindset to enjoy...
I've loaded up Una Corda in VCV Host and sent it to the Make Noise Mimeophon. From there it's going to a bit of reverb but that's it. I'm using the Mimeophon as a sort of a looper with the Zone set to maximum.

5 Ambient Patchlets with the Basimilus Iteritas Alter

Published on Jun 3, 2020 Omri Cohen

"If you like what I do and want to support my work, consider joining me on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/omricohen

I also created a document full of patching techniques and ideas that I will continue updating - https://www.patreon.com/posts/documen...

Here are some patch notes:
------------------------------------------------
Patch 1 - 00:00
--------
- I'm triggering the Basimilus with the pulse output of the 1U Noise Tools module, and I'm increasing the rate until I get a constant tone.
- I'm sending THIS to Microcell in Granular mode with lots of reverb.
- In VCV Rack I have the Black Octasource from Erica Synths modulating the harmonics, decay time, and morph of the Basimilus.

Patch 2 - 02:07
--------
- I'm sequencing the Basimilus from VCV Rack with a random sequence.
- I'm multing the Basimilus once into the Mimeophon, and once into Microcell in the Oliverb mode.
- The Rate of the Mimeophon is being modulated twice, once with S&H, and once through the micro input with an LFO.
- I've also recorded the Basimilus into the Morphagene a bit, and I'm playing the sample an octave lower and in revers.

Patch 3 - 03:12
--------
- I'm sequencing the Basimilus with Marbles in VCV Rack.
- It's then going into Magneto in shift mode so it creates those additional notes.
- It then goes into the Microcell for some extra reverb, and from there to Freak with a distortion model.
- I'm also modulating the morph control of the Basimilus with S&H, as well as the reverse function on Magneto.

Patch 4 - 05:04
--------
- I'm sending an arpeggio from VCV Rack to sequence the Basimilus, and it's going through LedRover.
- The signal is being multed into 3 different destinations: Once into the Microcell for some reverb, once into Freak with a HP filter and from there to the Mimeophpon, and once into Arbhar, which continuously records the signal and processes it.

Patch 5 - 07:11
-------
- I'm using a burst generator in VCV Rack to sequence the Basimilus.
- I recorded it onto Arbhar, and I have its built-in reverb on wet to it creates this nice pad.
- I also recorded a short sequence onto Magneto, and I'm playing it one octave lower. I'm also triggering its revers function randomly from VCV Rack.
- I'm also modulating the harmonic, fold, and morph functions of the Basimilus with an LFO in VCV Rack, built after Ochd from DivKid and Instruo.
- The Basimilus is then going through the Mimeophon for delay and Microcell for extra reverb.

Max Repeats - Using Make Noise Mimeophon

Dusty Clouds

"This is a sound exploration using Make Noise Mimeophon at max Repeats. I am using an LFO from Maths to move the Rate for some wobble and added texture later on. Mimeophon is a unique instrument and definitely not just another delay effect unit."

Make Noise & Mood

video upload by Aleatoric Machine

"An ambient-ish eurorack modular synthesizer patch (with pedals!), featuring:
Make Noise 0-Control, XPO, QPAS, Mimeophon, Maths, modDemix, LxD & XOH
DivKid/Instruo øchd
Strymon AA.1
Chase Bliss MOOD mkII & Dark World

All of the sounds in this patch originate from a single VCO — the XPO — sequenced by the 0-Control. The percussive voice is the stereo square wave output into into the QPAS, then the Mimeophon. The filter envelope comes from the envelope output on the 0-Control. The gate output for the last step in the sequence on the 0-Control strikes the !!¡¡ input on the QPAS. The XPO and QPAS are modulated by different LFOs from the øchd. The smooth voice is the mono sawtooth output into the the 12 dB filter of the LxD, then the LxD’s 6dB filter, then the AA.1 to interface with the MOOD and Dark World pedals. The 12dB filter envelope comes from Maths, triggered by the gate output from the 0-Control. The 6dB filter is controlled manually with an offset from Maths. Both voices go through the XOH directly into my camera (listening to the final mix, it could have used a limiter, but oh well).

I start with the MOOD 100% dry and the 6dB LxD filter completely closed, so all you hear is the square wave and delay from the Mimeophon. I slowly open up the 6dB LxD filter and increase the amplitude of the filter envelope on the QPAS. Then I bring in the wet channel of the MOOD in reverse slip mode, tuned up a fifth, which introduces some harmony and counterpoint. I play around with the MOOD mix and the filters for a while, then turn up the clock on the MOOD before bringing in the loop channel, also in reverse, for more harmony and polymeter. Then I start bringing the filters back down, while increasing the mix of the MOOD. I turn the clock back down and turn the filters down and the mix all the way up until all you hear is the backward loop from the MOOD. That’s it!"

Shared System Tutorials | Part 32 | Mimeophon Microsound

video by Cinematic Laboratory

"Always fun to create a new episode! As I mentioned before I am now including the full range of MakeNoise modules in these tutorials to accomodate people who need to know more about QPAS and Mimeophon. This session is about microsound exploration on the Mimeophon instead of Morphagene. The Morph has a Strega reel because I also wanted to find out how this evil little machine would sound in a bigger setting. So there's a lot of noise coming up. Have fun, and modulars really help you to stay home, safe and inspired!"

You can get the WAV file for this recording on my Patreon page - https://www.patreon.com/posts/37474134

Here are some patch notes:
---------------------------
- I've recorded a piano loop into Magneto and I'm playing it back in half speed. I'm also triggering its revers function with a random trigger from VCV Rack, and it's going through Microcell for some reverb.
- I have the Noise Tools from Intellijel generating a pulse that triggers the BIA, which is going through LedRover and being mixed into the Mimeophon.
- I have a recording of the O Coast on the Morphagene, which is going through the 2HP Freez and is also being mixed into the Mimeophon.
- In VCV Rack, I have an Arp going with 2 different oscillators from Vult, Vessek and Basal.
- Vessek is going through the hardware Freak and back in VCV for some delay and reverb, and Basal is being mixed with the BIA and Morphagene into the Mimeophon.
- I have a Viola loop recorded on the Nebulae, which is going through another hardware Freak for distortion, and it's also going through the Disting for some reverb.
- On Arbhar I have a flute loop recorded, and I'm sending it into VCV Rack for some delay with the Chronoblob 2.
- I used the ES-9 from Expert Sleepers as my interface, sending audio and CV in both direction into and from VCV Rack."

Étude No.6 - Arbhar/BIA/Mimeophon/Magneto/Freak/Desmodus Versio/Muxlicer/Rampage

Omri Cohen

"If you like what I do and want to support my work, consider joining me on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/omricohen Here are some patch notes:
----------------------------
- I have Arbhar set to the delay mode, and I'm modulating the delay times/amount with S&H from the 1U Noise Tools module.
- I'm triggering a grain with the Keystep Pro, which also triggers at the same time the S&H so with each grain, the delay is different.
- This is then going to the Desmodus Versio, and I'm using the S&H to modulate its size.
- I'm sequencing the Basimilus, the kick drum, also with the Keystep Pro, and I'm splitting the signal once to the Mimeophon, and once to the Disting in the mixer algo.
- I'm triggering the Muxlicer with the same trigger as the Basimilus, and it's sequencing the wet amount of the Mimeophon.
- The snare is coming from Freak, which is loaded with the Braids firmware, and it's also being sequenced by the Keystep Pro.
- I'm splitting it as well once to the Disting, and also once to Magneto for some short delays.
- The mix from the Disting is going to both inputs of Rampage for some extra grit."

Étude No.7 - Arbhar/BIA/Desmodus Versio/ Rampage/Mimeophon

Omri Cohen

"If you like what I do and want to support my work, consider joining me on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/omricohen

Here are some patch notes:
---------------------------
- I have some strings recorded on Arbhar, and it's set to wavetable mode.
- I'm using the Keystep Pro to send pitch information to it, and also to trigger one envelope of Rampage which is controlling the wet signal, acting basically as a VCA.
- I have the built-in reverb of Arbhar active and open, and this is going to even more reverb through the Desmodus Versio.
- I'm using another envelope from Rampage to control the Spray amount, and the comparator output is opening the size of the grains allowing the string samples to playback.
- The same pitch information is going to the Basimilus, which is going through the Mimeophon.
- I have the attack of the Basimilus all the way down, and the decay all the way up so it's quite noisy, and the wet control of the Mimeophon is all the way up, and it's set to play the repeats in reverse."

Two by Four //Subharmonicon/Mother 32/Plaits/Rings/Tides/Mimeophon/Magneto//

video upload by Aleatoric Machine

"The fun part about this patch is that all of the pitch sequencing comes from the Moog Subharmonicon. Including the bass line. Subharmonicon starts doing its thing with the two four note sequences. It goes through Make Noise Mimeophon to double up the polyrhythm pattern. Mutable Instruments Rings follows the pitch of sequence one, while Mutable Instruments Plaits (in a Rings-ish voice) follows sequence two. Moog Mother 32 samples and holds a pitch from sequence two at random intervals. Both sequences run into Expert Sleepers Disting mk4 in min/max mode. Mutable Instruments Tides and Make Noise STO double up on the base line, which is the min value of the two sequences, periodically switching to the max value (when it sounds like it goes to the 4 chord). The overall mix sequencing is handled by Malekko Voltage Block, with 2x Make Noise Maths controlling the slow fade between settings.

Also starring Intellijel Steppy sequencing Mosaic drum modules, XAOC Zadar and Qu-Bit Chance for modulation, Mutable Instruments Stages for some LFOs, Strymon Magneto on Plaits, and Chase Bliss Mood and Happy Nerding FX Aid on Mother 32."

Erbe-Verb B&G | Shared System 'X' | Episode 03 | Back in Black

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Yeah. I made episode 03 before I was able to finish episode 02 so I decided to post them both. There's no need on this channel to manage posts to maximize views, I just want you to be able to find information when you need it and I just LOVE to make content like this. I made a lot of videos about the EV in the past and it's covered in the old Shared System tutorials (link in video). In this video, I am going to try something new.

In this episode, I'll only use Erbe-Verb and DXG in a feedback loop. So no fancy 7U case layout this time, I made this video to find out if it can still be relevant in 2024. Since I am totally biased, you'll need to decide for yourself. Honestly, if you need a regular reverb, maybe a stereo module would serve you better.

Erbe-Verb is going for a limited rerun in black and gold, so this also means it's getting old and possibly moving to retirement. Without speculating too much, it's possible that MakeNoise is working on a successor now they have this amazing new ARM DSP board. But again, I have no idea. What we DO know is, that Erbe-Verb is widely considered as one of the best reverbs in eurorack, even though it's not the best reverb as a reverb. Que? It excels in creative use and abuse. It will never get old and whatever comes next, it will pair well with the EV (it pairs really well with a Mimeophon, StarLab, Sealegs or Desmodus Versio).

Apart from the sound design fun, Erbe-Verb plays a big role in the Shared System signature sound. While it's partly overshadowed by the more recent Mimeophon, the Mime's 'halo' only adds a little space. It's nothing compared to the 'icy sheet metal in deep space' sound from the EV, which can easily double as a classic spring- or plate reverb when 'absorb' and 'tilt' are used to tame the high end. I've never been a fan of the predelay, but it can do amazing things with modulation and gates/triggers.

The Erbe-Verb is 'mono IN' so it needs to be used as a send/return with a stereo voice like XPO or Spectraphon. Here's where a ModDemix comes in handy. You can use CH1 and CH2 to pass on your stereo mix to let's say an X-PAN, and use the Sum out to EV. Then you can patch the EV's stereo out to X-PAN's aux inputs. It's a lot of patching and modules for a verb, but it provides a lot of freedom."

'Winter' Peak Ambient Loop (Peak, Rainmaker, Mimeophon, DittoX4)

Published on Oct 14, 2019 State Azure

"I was creating a few Morphagene reels, improvising with the Peak into the looper and came up with this little loop that turned out to be quite a nice track by itself, so I decided to share it.

Keystep to Peak. Peak goes into the DittoX4 looper, then into the 7U case to Rainmaker for some extra texture. Onto Mimeophon for the ping-pong delay and a little wow/flutter with the micro-pitch input modulated. Finally into Morphagene for recording. All sounds from Novation Peak.

Recorded direct to DAW."
