Anachronistic Ritualism (Eurorack Polygogo, XPO, Harmonic Oscillator)
video upload by PanicGirlVids
"These are some of my favorite oscillator modules at the moment, as I feel you can get very interesting sounds out of them: the Harmonic Oscillator from Verbos Electronics, The XPO from Make Noise and the Polygogo from E-RM.
You can hear the first synth voice at around 30 seconds, I added some metallic sounds and voices in my DAW for this moody piece to begin with.
The big challenge for me is to not get lost in all the sonic possibilities that the Eurorack System offers, but to create something interesting, but still 'musical' if you know what I mean.
I originally started with the bassy sound that you can hear around 1.20 minutes and immediately had to think of the album 'A Saucerful Of Secrets' by Pink Floyd, or more specifically of the track 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun'. What a fantastic album, don't you think?
Thanks for listening!"

PlayFader PlayMates
video uploads by Play All Day
You might remember Play All Day from previous posts here.
Playlist:
1. PlayFader PlayMates
PlayFader meets @erfindungsbuero ERM Polygogo.
Headphones recommended.
Channel A:
CV - V/oct of Polygogo and multed into Natural Gate’s Control input to open up the decay time. Set to User Scale. Gate - Right-hand side Hit input on Natural Gate.
Channel B:
CV - Various modulation inputs on Polygogo. Set to 2v unquantised.
Gate - Left-hand side Hit input on Natural Gate.
Clock input, set to CV.- from @makenoisemusic Function EOC output.
PolyGogo X and Y outputs are split into separate sides of the Natural Gate so they can be independently gated. It’s all running through the @busycircuits MFX for some stereo glue and then onto the delicious Sealegs by @intellijel for delay vibes.
PlayGuide:
We start by setting each channel’s time division to different settings. Then we record a 16 step loop of both channels simultaneously, creating nice polyrhythms. Then we play around with the record arm of CV and Gate, essentially decoupling them so we can record just CV over the gate patterns in the Loop buffer. Then we overdub some different gate patterns by setting the channels to different divisions. We even play with 24ppn which is crazy fast but gives a nice effect. We overdub that again showing how you can endlessly play over your recordings. And we use Latch a lot, because we love Latch… a lot! Latch allows the CV output to be played live with the faders, over the top of the buffer contents. A quick double-tap of Latch releases the CV from the live fader position, and back to whatever’s in the Loop buffer.
Available for Pre-order now ❤️
In our next PlayMates video, PlayFader meets @noiseeng BIA & @michigan_synth_works SY0.5 - things get seriously wild..."
2. PF Clocked redux
PlayFader has dark side, don’t be fooled by all pretty colours 🙃
Our 2nd PlayMate video shows the less conventional and, frankly, crazy side of PlayFader. Hard to explain in detail what happened here but the main idea was to explore playing with the speed of the clock input. Recording patterns at slow clock rates and speeding up really fast.
Huge thanks to Paul’s Alex Bow for the idea!
Channel A is playing with BIA by Noise Engineering and Channel B is having fun with Michigan Synthworks SY0.5 and both are running into the mighty M T2D dual triode distortion by Sonocurrent.
Channel A:
CV - to the pitch and various modulation inputs on BIA via the fabulous Ochd by DivKid and Instruo.
Set to 5v un-quantised range.
Gate - BIA trigger input
Channel B:
CV - pitch input on the SY0.5
Set to 5v un-quantised range.
Gate - to trigger input of SY0.5
Hard to explain, but things go nuts. Due to the fact the looper and clock divisions are always tight, cool patterns emerge and when you speed the clock up you get interested low bit res waveforms and glitchy mayhem.
3. PlayFader PlayMates Pt2
Another little snippet of these PlayMates having fun. Slowing the clock coming into PlayFader allows you to record more into the 16 step buffer when it’s set to faster decisions. We then speed up the clock and all kinds of interesting happen.
In case you didn’t already know, we’re open for pre-orders. Link in bio. And stay tuned for more episodes of PlayMates coming soon. If you have any suggestions of friends you’d like OlayFader to meet, let us know in the comments.
And if you can’t quite figure out what PlayFader is doing, check out the PlayData manuals on our website.
Love and patches,
Play All Day ❤️

E-RM Polygogo and Make Noise QPAS - Eurorack Live Improvisation
video upload by Thoow
"Two main voices: Polygogo from Erfindungsbüro and Erica Synths Bassline. Polygogo is a graphical stereo oscillator with original Polygonal Synthesis. I use the QPAS stereo filter and a stereo effects chain with Imitor Versio, Desmodus Versio and FX aid. Lots of modulation on all devices from Ochs, Mimetic Digitalis, Chaos and Maestro. Starts slow, by opening the attenuator on the fold input on the Polygogo and with an wider opened filter on the Opas it gets into a more harsh territory. The Bassline is also heavily modulated, especially through CV into the cutoff and some random accents.
The sequences are generated in Ableton live with the Sequned plugin. While recording I add some FX in Ableton, mostly EQ, slight reverb, tape saturation and texture. There is an additional pad playing in the background, sequenced by another instance of Seqund."

Bonding With the E-RM Polygogo (with Rainmaker and Norand Mono)
video upload by Red Means Recording Ambient
"I wanted to get to know the E-RM Polygogo oscillator and see if it was for me. It's ok! Very pretty to look at! If you have room for it in your case, and like visual feedback, this is a super cool choice. E-RM runs through Patching Panda Moon Phase and then into Rainmaker. Drums are from the Norand Mono, which makes a surprisingly good little analog drum machine.

DRONE BATTLE // Polygogo vs Cloud Terrarium
Genshi Media Group
"::| TO HEAR THE FULL RANGE OF FREQUENCIES AND STEREO EFFECTS, A GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |::
I thought I'd have fun and do an experimental Drone Battle between the E-RM Polygogo and the Synthesis Technology Cloud Terrarium modules. Both modules are being modulated by the XAOC Devices Batumi (my favorite LFO!) and after demonstrating the dry signal, a touch of Reverb is added in post using Valhalla VintageVerb.

E-RM Polygogo Stereo Polygonal Eurorack Oscillator
Published on May 22, 2020 Perfect Circuit
"What is a stereo polygonal oscillator? The E-RM Polygogo uses this form of synthesis developed just for this module. The screen shows a visual representation of the sound that the oscillator is generating. When smoother shapes appear on the screen the sounds are more calm and when there are lots of particles and jagged lines moving around the screen some harsh timbres come out of the oscillator.
The Polygogo has teeth and fold parameters to add harmonics, and it also has a built in FM modulator. There are lots of synthesis options in the Polygogo and the screen is always giving you feedback on what is happening with your sound.

E-RM polygogo
Published on Apr 2, 2020 Alex4
"The E-RM polygogo stereo oscillator is the first digital stereo oscillator to feature the brand-new Polygonal Synthesis technique. Based on complex two-dimensional amplitude shaping of sine waves, the polygogo is a performance-oriented, high-quality instrument which allows you to explore fascinating sounds and shapes alike.
Thanks to the combination of Polygonal Synthesis, two internal modulation sources and a fully-analog overflow stage, the module is capable of generating an extremely wide array of animated spectra, ranging from lush drones, massive basses and even sounds reminiscent of acoustic instruments.
In this video we explore the sound spectrum of the polygogo through different patches. The module is always recorded in stereo using two Verbos Amplitude & Tone Controller for filtering and VCA duties, and the Flame FX16-CV module for reverb."

POLYGOGO Stereo Oscillator - Sound Demo #2 - Eurorack Modular Synthesizer
Published on Dec 29, 2019 MIKE LEE BIRDS
"In the previous video I used the amazing POLYGOGO as sort of a drone/soundscape machine.
Here it‘s hooked up to the beautiful TUESDAY procedural sequencer from „This Is Not Rocket Science“.
The fold circuit serves as a VCA and is fed an envelope from MATHS. That same envelope goes into the OP (internal FM) Amount input for a quasi-sort-of-filter idea.
About the fold-VCA thing:
I noticed that feeding a negative voltage into the fold circuit and turning the attenuator to between 2 and 3 o‘clock will silence Polygogo. A positive voltage can then control the volume, hence Maths.
More clearly: Maths channel two is sending negative voltage (knob at 9 o’clock) through the sum output and channel one adds an envelope triggered by Tuesday.
- CHANCE changes polygons.
- MONSOON (Clouds) is responsible for reverb and adds pitch shifted delay later on.
- BEAST’S CHALKBOARD does some octave shifting off screen.
- PEAKS provides bass drum and hihats triggered by Tuesday’s beat and ticks outputs respectively. Sorry for the clipping bass drum.."

POLYGOGO Stereo Polygonal Oscillator Sounds - Eurorack Modular Synthesizer
Published on Dec 28, 2019 MIKE LEE BIRDS
"A first wiggling session with the about-to-be released POLYGOGO Polygonal Stereo Oscillator by E-RM Erfindungsbüro.
It’s an incredibly intuitive and hands-on module with tons of soundscaping capabilities.
The screen beautifully visualizes the modulations and sonic changes. I find it very useful for understanding what‘s going on with the knobs and sliders.
Polygogo is running through Clouds/Monsoon‘s reverb. At 4:25 Clouds starts doing its thing with a bit of pitch shifting for good measure."

E-RM INTRODUCES POLYGONAL SYNTHESIS with New Polygogo Eurorack Module
You can find demos of E-RM's Polygogo in the archives here. It was introduced at this year's SUPERBOOTH. Full details on the upcoming module follow.
"E-RM’s polygogo Eurorack module is the very first digital stereo oscillator to feature the brand-new Polygonal Synthesis technique, invented by E-RM founder Maximilian Rest and DSP specialist Christoph Hohnerlein. Based on complex two dimensional amplitude shaping of sine waves, the polygogo is a performance-oriented, high-quality instrument which allows you to explore fascinating sounds and shapes alike.
Thanks to the combination of Polygonal Synthesis, two internal modulation sources and a beefy, fully-analog overflow stage, the polygogo is capable of generating an extremely wide array of animated spectra. Its results range from lush drones, massive basses and fierce leads to glitch madness and even sounds reminiscent of acoustic instruments.
Its “single knob – single function” interface, created in collaboration with instrument designer Tatsuya Takahashi, makes the polygogo not only a terrific live performance synthesizer, but a great tool for meticulous sound design as well – no menus involved.

You’d like some visuals that match your creative sound explorations? – The polygogo can deliver! Just connect its X and Y outputs to a laser system, X/Y plotting visualizer or video modular and enjoy some intriguing, constantly moving and transforming shapes on an external screen.
