Erica Synths LXR-02 - 64 Brand New Drum Kits

video upload by Sonic Freaks

"We proudly present brand new 64 drum kits for the Erica Synth LXR-02 and LXR Drum module. You can get the drumkits here: https://www.sonicfreaks.com/shop/LXR_...

These kits are specially designed for use in modern dance music such as Techno, Electro, Hip Hop, IDM, Minimal etc. The kits are designed in such a way that the kick, snare, clap etc. are always in the same place. This way you can easily try out kits with the same drum pattern without having to adjust them.

Most kits also use the built-in FX to give them even more punch and/or grit but can easily be turned off or adjusted to taste. We have designed the widest possible palette of sounds that are actually usable. So we don't have crazy FX sounds that you will never use. In total this bundle contains 384 separate drum & percussion sounds. We hope you enjoy them."

Twisted Electrons TherapSID Presets DEMO - 100 Brand New Sounds

video upload by Sonic Freaks

"100 Brand New Presets designed by Sonic Freaks.
The presets are available here: https://www.sonicfreaks.com/shop/ther...

The presets are compatible with the Twisted Electrons TherapSID mk2 and mk3.

The preset demo was made in Logic Pro X.
The Twisted Electrons TherapSID was directly recorded via an Antelope Audio Orion 32 Gen 3+.
Half way every preset we added a bit of reverb to give the sound a bit of depth. We used the Chase Bliss CXM1978.

No other processing was done other then decreasing the stereo width of the Twisted Electrons TherapSID because in some occasions the sound became out of phase. I also added a noise gate because my SID chips are a bit noisy due to there age."

Waldorf M Presets by Sonic Freaks

videos upload by Sonic Freaks

"We are proud to present our two new preset libraries for the Waldorf M. For the first library we designed 64 MODERN presets that take advantage of the new features of the Waldorf M. This library also contains beautiful strings, evolving pads with beautiful textures and details, subtle and extreme pluck sounds, basses, leads, bells and much more. Also note the new sounds that use the digital filter derived from the Waldorf XT.

The second library are 64 CLASSIC presets from our original Waldorf Microwave presets that we have accurately converted to the Waldorf M. Expect the same beautiful strings, evolving pads, fat bass and crystal clear bells from our Waldorf Microwave Library.

We also combined these two libraries into one big library of 128 presets called COMPLETE and is available with 20% discount.

• We recorded the Waldorf M directly into Logic Pro X via a Antelope Audio Orion 32 Gen 3. No reverb was added.
• The Waldorf M we used had firmware 1.06.
• For drums we used a Roland TR-808 vintage drum machine.

We like to thank Waldorf Music and especially Vladimir for providing us with a Waldorf M for converting these presets.

Akai AX-73 & VX-90 - 100 patches - Demo

video by Sonic Freaks

"You can find these presets here: https://sonicfreaks.com/shop/akai-vx-...

We are proud to present our 100 brand new presets for the Akai AX-73 & Akai VX-90. These vintage synthesizers from 1986 are true classic analog synthesizers with a very special character. Underestimated by many, but the true connoisseur knows what these beautiful sounding synths can do. Both synths have VCOs and analog 24dB lowpass filter. Unique is the PWM that can be used on any waveform of the VCO creating all kinds of sonic flavours.

Many late 80's synthesizers suffered from the lack of knobs and sliders to program sounds. This resulted in the end users often not being able to understand the synths properly. Designing usable sound patches was therefore a challenge. This also applies to the Akai AX-73 & Akai VX-90.

Sonic Freaks has therefore designed 100 very useful and modern sounding patches. These patches are fully compatible with the Tauntek firmware upgrade for the Akai AX-73 & Akai VX-90 and can, provided this upgrade has been performed, be loaded into the synth using a sysex dump.

Also included is a high resolution tape dump (44Khz - 24Bit) which you can be loaded into the Akai AX-73 or Akai VX-90 using a traditional tape dump. For more details, please read the installation instructions which you can download for free from our website!"

Waldorf Microwave 1 - Presets/Patches Demo

Sonic Freaks

"Presets are available here: https://tinyurl.com/microwave-presets

We have created 64 presets for the Waldorf Microwave 1 synthesizer. This hybrid wavetable synthesizer, with its analog filters, is a direct descendant of the famous PPG Wave 2.3. Both the Wave 2.3 and the Microwave 1 make use of wavetables, a new technology at the time that uses sampled waveforms through which the user can scroll through in real time, producing special sounds. Although released back in 1989 its rich feature set and complex sound makes it a very competitive and capable synth even today.

Unlike the PPG Wave 2.3, the Waldorf Microwave 1 suffered from the same issue as many late 80's synths….the lack of rotary knobs, making programming this advanced hybrid synthesizer quite difficult.

Sonic Freaks has created this fantastic collection of presets to take full advantage of the advanced and unique features of the Waldorf Microwave 1. In this presets collection you will find Dreamy Pads, Evolving Textures, Ambient Strings, Crystal Clear Bells, Thick Basses and Sweet Leads and much more. The presets are contemporary and vintage at the same time. They are very suitable for all kinds of (electronic) music

The collection includes 64 presets to revitalise your Waldorf Microwave 1 and get inspired to make great music."

Sonic Freakes Prophet 600 Synthesizer GliGli Presets

Published on Dec 19, 2019 Sonic Freaks

"This is a demo of the presets we have made for the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 with the GliGli mod. In total there are 100 presets. In the 3 demo's we demonstrate ±65 of them. We hope you like them!

For more info visit: http://sonicfreaks.com

The Prophet 600 gligli presets collection is a custom designed set of presets which takes full advantage of the new features the gligli mod offers. The gligli mod takes the Prophet 600 into the 21st century and can easily compete sound-wise with modern synths.

In this collection you will find snappy basses and percussive sounds due to the new very fast envelop generators. The new LFO shapes enables the Prophet 600 to create beautiful evolving pad and string sounds and there are many in this collection.

The gligli mod also let you play the Prophet 600 with a velocity sensitive midi keyboard or DAW. The Prophet now becomes a very expressive synthesizer which offers a whole lot of new possibilities. A lot of the presets in this collection make use of these new expressive features.

The Prophet 600 gligli presets collection is great for every Prophet 600 gligli owner. The sounds are completely different from presets you will find anywhere online for the Prophet 600. Our presets are very modern, vintage, expressive and fun to play and to create music with. A great set of presets for creating electro, techno, synth pop, synth wave, hip hop, pop and much more."

A Polyphonic Minimoog?

Published on Sep 24, 2019 Sonic Freaks

"The MINI sampled is a sample library based on the most famous synthesizer of all time: The Minimoog Model D.

We have captured its rich and beautiful tone and created 105 "ready to play" presets of which the majority can even be played polyphonic.

To record our own Minimoog Model D we used the Universal Audio 4-710D tube preamp to add even more warmth to its sound. Instead of recording only a few notes from the Minimoog we mostly recorded all notes in all its detail.

We have captured the rawness of the Minimoog. Do not expect a polished sound which you can get with any kind of plugin. We wanted the quirkiness and awesomeness of the Minimoog reflecting in this sample library and we think we succeeded.

Watch and listen to the demo:
Bass & Pluck sound - 0:20
Pad sounds - 4:05
Synth & Keys sounds - 8:27
Leads - 11:36

Please note there are many more sounds in the library. This is just an overview of some of the sounds. For more info or is you like to buy the library please visit: https://sonicfreaks.com"

Circuit bent Moon Cycle Delay by spunky toofers

via this auction

"Very Rare circuit bent pedal by Spunky Toofers, made from a vintage Boss PS2 pedal (Delay, Pitch shifter).
Perfect to operate with the foot, it has many modifications added to the PS2.
Now the pedal can act as a looper, a rhytmic mangler, a synth, a bit reducer, and all sort of sonic variations.

It has the classi Mix knob very usefull to lix between clean and circuit bent signal, various foot switches, CV input to use with a classic expression pedal (incredible to control delay parameters)
it has and extra output on the back, to monitor circuit bent signal before mixing it to the original signal.

This pedal is uge, and goes far beyond a classic delay/Pitchshifter.It is perfect for guitar players, and synth freaks.

I bought this from Daniel Park himself, it is 100% fonctionnal."

"first made a loop with the wurli and the Moon cycle delay and then layered bent events on the loop as well as pitch down and up parts. Once the loop was interesting, I just grabbed some ideas on it on the piano"

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope it's a great one!

Putting this post up between the cross over as I need to sign off for the festivities!

First of all, I'd like to say THANK YOU! for a great 2011! It was a busy one here in MATRIXSYNTH land.  The site had a record breaking 18755 posts (including this one) for the year.  That's an average of 51.38 posts every single day (not a single day missed, BTW).  I'm hoping to actually bring that number down a little. Before anyone freaks out, I'm not planning on changing much.  I plan on keeping MATRIXSYNTH exactly the same with the exception of raising the bar on what goes up just a little.   I think enough change happens in life and it's nice to have some constants you can fall back on.  I'm hoping MATRIXSYNTH continues to be one for you.   It's odd to think it's only been six and a half years!  I hope to keep the site going for many more to come.   As for bringing the number of posts down and a little history on the site...

Experience the Power of the Pedal – Moog Introduces Multi-Pedal OS 2.0

"ASHEVILLE, N.C. (November 12, 2009) There’s good news for all you control freaks out there. Moog’s mighty Multi-Pedal has received a major software upgrade. OS 2.0 adds a host of innovations that reinforce the Multi-Pedal’s position as the premier Analog, MIDI and USB Control Hub.

New features include: MIDI-to-CV conversion, Loopable Envelope Generators with four Envelope Shapes (Linear, Logarithmic, Exponential and Complex), CV Lag, CV Scaling and the ability to trigger Gates and MIDI events. These new features add to an already impressive list including, MIDI Clock Sync, Tap Tempo, Programmable Heel and Toe Voltages, four LFOs, four Analog Control Voltage Outputs, MIDI and USB connectivity. Many of the original features, such as Quad Mode and Noise Generation also received significant enhancements.

The number four comes up quite often when discussing the Multi-Pedal because practically anything it does, it can do on four independent channels simultaneously.

"I just started messing around with the Multi-Pedal not too long ago, and I love it!!! I incorporated it into my rig as I was rehearsing for our summer tour, and it opened up all new sonic possibilities for me" said Chris Kilmore of the band, Incubus. "It takes what I can only do with at least four hands and puts the control at my feet via a gas pedal. I use the four outs of the Multi-Pedal sort of like a patch bay. I have a four channel snake that runs from the Multi-Pedal to my Voyager or any one of my Moogerfoogers. I love the mobility that pedal gives me."

So that even more musicians, DJs and producers can experience the power of the pedal, Moog Music is announcing a special promotion. From November 15, 2009 through December 31, 2009, the Multi-Pedal’s price will drop to $399 at participating US dealers and through the Moog website.

“The features in OS 2.0 take the Multi-Pedal to a whole new level” said Moog Music President, Mike Adams. “With four channels of MIDI-to-CV conversion, hooking the Multi-Pedal to a laptop sequencer gives you the flexibility and power of an analog step sequencer that can also communicate with MIDI gear.”

OS 2.0 is available as a free download for current Multi-Pedal users.
