"1985 #Ensoniq released the #8-bit #Sampler 'Mirage'. Great features and sound but a nightmare to edit. In 2021 - just 36 years later - Stereoping offers a little #Midicontroller making things a little easier. For technical reasons, the Controller only works with #MASos - the "Mirage Advanced Sampling OS". It can not tune in absolute values as we are used to today. The Controller simulates button-presses on the frontpanel. When moving a knob it sends commands to the #Mirage like "press PARAM, press 3, press 6, press VALUE" to select Cutoff and show it's value on display. Moving the knob outside the 12 o'clock deadzone starts to send consecutive presses of INCREASE or DECREASE in 3 different speed grades to adjust the value itself. Sounds complicated but it works quite well. This demo shows how to build a complete program with 11 samples and their upper and lower memory assignments in 5 minutes! Without Controller it would most probably take much longer (i must admit, i did not try it). The video uses a speedup to prevent sending spectators to sleep, hopefully. The background shows a real-world clock to proove it's not fake-demo. From 3:27 the defined memory areas are filled with samples... choosing wavesample slot, adjusting external volume, starting sampling, adjusting sampling time for long samples etc. From 6:57 the complete Program is used for a little Drum and Bass mockup - even with realtime adjusting of "AMP Release time" - kind of stutter effect :-)
Unless you own or know the Ensoniq Mirage, this video will be quite boring. Maybe you enjoy the background music, Tabla and Sitar are played by the Mirage."

"Second protoype of my eurorack Spring Reverb module. This is the result of extensive experimentation with many commonly availabe schematics to get something that should work with ANY reverb tank (tested with 15 different tanks). The module has controls for send level, recovery level and sendlevel-current limitation. These 3 pots offer extensive control over the sound of your tank from the cleanest reverb to screaming input-coil distortion. A dry/wet pot and a 4 band equalizer colouring the reverb complete the features.
The demo shows pointless pot-noodling on 4 different tanks with input impedances from 8 to 1500 Ohm, insulated and grounded versions. Easy listening theme played by Vermona ER9, TX81Z, Kawai K1m and Fantom in last example with soft Drums and Piano.
This module will be availabe as a DIY assembly kit with professional frontpanel. I am working hard on it and hope to get my shop going in early summer 2014."

"This SX-240 is in amazing condition. It was completely serviced and calibrated about 3 years ago. I changed the battery a couple years back as well as upgraded with the Tauntek firmware which allows full midi control over all parameters. There are some great max for live devices if you use ableton live. Also included is the Stereoping SX-240 midi controller which gives you quick control over just about everything."

"The Prophet VS uses Vector Synthesis as its revolutionary new means of sound creation. It uses a total of four oscillators per voice with 127 waveforms (32 user) and dynamic waveform crossfading via the joystick. This was Sequential's first digital synth, and it was also their final synth unfortunately.
Condition:
Overall the VS is in good cosmetic condition, top panel shows heavy wear (scratches and dents) from being in and out of racks over the years, the top cavity plate opens with no trouble.
Currently loaded with OS 1.1, a few of the buttons are sticky from time to time, but all functions perform as expected.
The previous owner mentioned that one of the CEM5530's was replaced. The repair looks to have been performed by John Leimseider (RIP) based upon the SSM chips & the fact that it's on a standoff, however we cannot confirm this. Pro job to say the least.
Everything else is original, so that means the screen is blue and weird to read at certain angles (most folks replace with an OLED) and the power supply hums (you can buy modern replacements for around $350.)
The Stereoping VS Controller connects via MIDI and allows you to control most parameters remotely, works like a charm.
Original VS and VS Controller manuals are included."
