Korg DW-8000: One Chord Live Jam (Ambient)

video upload by App Sound (by Matt Sour)

"Three ambient live sessions with the Korg DW-8000 plus Stereoping Synth Controller. Each Jam is based on only one simple chord. The controller allows not only filter modulation, but also musical switching of oscillator waveforms.
Love both - DW-8000 and the Stereoping tool. 100% original audio (plus some Valhalla Supermassive, a freeware fx plugin)."

Waldorf Microwave Rackmount Wavetable Synthesizer + Stereoping controller

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"It has the wonderful sounding CEM 3389 and OS 2.0 - kind of a PPG synth combining wavetable and analog filter. This machine was checked a couple of days by my tech. Original Performance (English) and Programming (English + German) manuals included, + Stereoping PSU & Manual."

Note Stereoping makes two controllers for the Waldorf Microwave. The more compact version pictured here and a larger version. You can find pics and demos of both in previous posts here. You can compare them to the Microwave Programmer by Access just posted here.

2022/08 - Yamaha CS-5 Repair & modding picturebook

video upload by Stereoping

"I recently got a #Yamaha #CS-5 in bad condition. After fixing some broken things i increasingly fell in love with it's unique sound. To expand the CS5's very limited modulation possibilities i added more and more features. This video shows all fixes and mods. With some cheesy in-between-music from 4-track tape recording - all voices played by the CS-5 of course."

CRUMAR BIT 99 SYNTHESIZER MIDI CONTROLLED

video upload by Davide Micheli

"The video I made is on the BIT 99 electronic synthesizer built by CRUMAR in 1984. The purpose is to show some technical characteristics of the vintage electronic synthesizer.
In particular, I updated the firmware by changing two EPROMs (see the following site: https://www.untergeek.de/shop/crumar-...)
The MIDI controller is the 'Stereoping's Synth Controller'.
In the video I play some patches whose synthsizer parameters are changed in realtime by means of the MIDI Synth Controller.
To emphasize the versatility of the MIDI Synth Controller and the deep 80's sounds of the BIT 99 synthesizer, I recorded a bass sequence on CUBASE and transmitted via MIDI to the BIT 99 synthesizer.
While the sequence is being played by the BIT 99, some parameters of DCOs, VCOs, VCF etc...are edited in realtime. LFOs are modified too.
The video is improvised and I hope it is useful and fun for fans of vintage electronic synthesizers."

Oberheim Matrix 1000 w/ Stereoping Midi Controller!

via this auction

"Oberheim Matrix 1000 with the Stereoping midi controller included! The controller alone retails for over $500 new. The Matrix 1000 was recently serviced with a new save battery and an updated 1.2 Tauntek OS chip for better midi response. Cosmetically the Matrix 1000 has the usual "rack rash" which is not noticable when you place it on a rack. The front panel is in great condition. Please view the pictures carefully to see the specific physical condition that it is in. Everything functions well and the included controller turns this synth into a powerful instrument allowing you to build your own patches from scratch."

Stereoping Synth Controller for Clavia Nord Drum 2

video upload by Stereoping

"Demo for the ND2 Edition of the Synth Controller supporting #Clavia #NordDrum 2. Also works with the Nord Drum 3 but not with the first version (with 4 channels) which does not support CC-parameter editing. 6 minutes of editing with some captions what's currently going on. From 6:28 the setup and usage of the GLOBAL MODE is shown. GLOBAL MODE allows simultaneous editing of previously teached parameters on all 6 channels, kind of performance mixer."

PEAVEY SPECTRUM SYNTH

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This appears to be the first auction post to feature the Peavey Spectrum Synth. There is also a Peavey Spectrum Bass Synth, and Peavey Spectrum Filter. You can find a demo of the SPECTRUM SYNTH here.

"This Peavey works and sounds great but sometimes it freezes. After a quick reset it works great again. Im thinking it might be the 3v battery but Im not sure. Its full of a lot of terrific presets. This synth is deep and Stereoping makes a controller for editing."

2022/07 - Korg SQ-1 and Moog Subharmonicon

video upload by Stereoping

"A song trying to bring the #Korg #SQ-1 and the #Moog #Subharmonicon together in a musical context. More or less successful :-) The Subharmonicons VCOs 1&2 are playing their sequences and are being additionally transposed by the CV outs of line 1&2 from the Korg. Two trigger clocks (16th and a rhythm) are manually 'faded' with a Befaco Morphader and advancing the Korg & Moog together. Additional players: bArp2600 (melody), TD-3, Maxikorg and Subsequent37 (Bass). Everything held together by 4 different rhythms: Volca Drum, MPC1000, Drumkid (triggering another 8bit drumbox) and the Alesis HR16 with custom EPROMs.

Right behind: a bonus track! The raw first (tape!) recording of the musical idea one week earlier. Somehow i like it better, unfortunately i could not reproduce the SQ1 and Harmonicum settings any more. Which do you prefer?"

2022/06 - Volca Harmonicon

video upload by Stereoping

"A little song with some diy-gear. Opening with the Volca Sample running the Pajen firmware which allows endless drones with AMP DECAY fully clockwise. 5 notes are mixed with an external Midicontroller. The Moog #Subharmonicon plays along running through a DIY Axoloti-based Reverb/Delay. Second part played by #Summit, #Subsequent37, #OSCar and #TD-3. The Drums are coming from an old Organ voiceboard which is triggered (and powered) by the DIY-808. Other DIY gear used: Midi-RGB-LED lamp for visual feedback of beat&bar, trigger sequencer synching the Subharmonicum and another axoloti based insert-FX for high-feedback-phasing and high-Q-lowpass."

PPG wave 2.3 vs Waldorf Microwave 1

video upload by synthlegends

"In this video I compare some factory presets from the PPG wave 2.3 with some recreated PPG 2.3 Programs on the Waldorf Microwave 1 Rev. B (the latter version with CEM 3387 Filter Chips). The firmware on the PPG is 8.3, the firmware on the Waldorf is 2.0.

Maybe you can reprogram the sounds more accurate, but you can listen that even in the wavetable sounds the wavetable circle is quite spot on in the microwave 1.

Anyway you can listen that the PPG has some more roughness in deeper registers and in higher registers it has the typical aliasing effect. The microwave 1 sounds much cleaner and more polished. The difference about the SSM filter vs. CEM filter is not so much prominent in my opinion. I thought there is a very big hearable difference.

The microwave 1 is quite difficult to program without programmer, like from stereoping. Sometime I think I will buy one. Nevertheless, the microwave a not a substitue for a PPG wave for purists but it has the PPG vibe in it. We will see, if Behringer is capable to get the PPG wave right. Unfortunately I haven’t got the Waldorf M, but a friend has it. I think sometime I will borrow it and also do a A/B comparision with this synth.

In this video I didn't use any processing. I just recorded the synths directly plugging in the interface and also didn't use any plug-ins. I am very curious about your comments and opimions. Thanks for watching."

2022/04 - TriPhonic 2600 - song 2/3

video upload by Stereoping

"Second result of the tri-polyphonic 2600/keystep experiment. Electronic friends playing along: DIY-808, Syncussion clone and (on 4th keystep track) a TD-3 which is slightly modded for being able to play one octave higher than normal."

2022/04 - TriPhonic 2600 - song 1/3

video upload by Stereoping

"Funny result while learning to work with the Arturia #keystep pro. Each VCO of the #2600 is controlled by it's own Keystep track (VCO 2&3 by CV) and playing individual melody lines through 8 patterns. 4th track going to the #NordDrum2 being realtime controlled with two Synth Controllers. Main drums from a midisynced DIY-808 with manually switched pattern. Song one of three."

Oberheim Matrix 6 w/ Custom DIY Controller

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me.

"The programmer (my own DIY) can control nearly all of the features on the M6, apart from the mod matrix, so it gives realtime control of most features, but there are some that are still slow due to the slow OS of the Matrix 6. It runs on 12V, and a power supply will be included. I will not sell the programmer separately, as I am sure I will be asked that question."

It definitely gives the Access Matrix-6 programmer a run for the money. This Stereoping controller is worth a look though.

Crumar Bit 99 with Tauntek Firmware Upgrade Midi CC Control & Sakata DPM 48

video upload by umusic6

"Bob Grieb did it again and brought Midi CC control to another old veteran synth: The Crumar Bit. Information can be found here: http://www.tauntek.com/CrumarBit.htm
You can also get the new Firmware Eproms , officially licensed, from https://www.untergeek.de/crumar-bit01...
My old iPad 1 is running theTB Midi Stuff App with the Bit Controller panel. But of course any other controller or software supporting customizable Midi CC will work."

Oberheim Matrix-1000 Through Roland GP-8 with Stereoping Controller - Awesome Chorus

video upload by umusic6

"Running an already great Matrix 1000 String sound thru the Roland GP-8 with just Delay and Chorus activated.
Quite a nice digital (!) Chorus with unusual additional Predelay and Feedback parameters.
As well as a basic but good sounding digital delay.
Everything running through Lexicon 300 Large Hall at the end of the chain."

Stereoping MidiTools

video upload by Three CCTranslators automating Microwave, Matrix and TX81Z from DAW Stereoping

"Technical productdemo for the #CCTranslator which converts common Midi Control Change (aka 'CC') data into highly specialized #SysEx parameter change commands. This allows to remote or automate vintage Synthesizers like e.g. the #Waldorf #Microwave, #Matrix1000, #TX-81Z in your DAW. In the video these three Synths are automated - each with 4 parameters - from a dashboard in FL Studio. The Matrix1000 is running the tauntek firmware which reflects parameter changes on the LED display. Some little timing issues but mostly it works quite well. Most of the automation data was optimized by drawing steps and preventing redundant data. Depending on your DAW, automation curves can produce a LOT of data which might result in timing problems or missed events."

via stereoping

"The MIDI TOOLS are tiny, cute boxes manipulating Midi Data. They will be plugged in between the sender (MIDI OUT of DAW or Keyboard) and the receiver (MIDI IN of Synthesizer) and will be supplied with power from the connected Midi cable – there is no power supply jack. This is quite practical and works with the vast majority of equipment.

The Midi Tools are coming in 3 flavours:

The PolyChainer will be plugged in between the Synth Programmer and allows playing two Matrix 1000/6/6R (or other Synths) with 12 note polyphony

The CCTranslator translates ordinary Control Change (“CC”) messages into the complex SysEx commands to control and remote your vintage Synthesizer

The ChordTransposeFilter offers 4 features at the same time: Chord Memory, transposition of incoming midi notes, filtering of undesired Midi data and a simple MIDI Thru

The MidiTools are housed in a beautiful stainless steel case, the upper half painted in transparent strawberry red, yum. Like all Stereoping products their firmware can easly be updated over Midi. Please click the tabs for more info about the little helpers."

2021/09 DAWless Summer Session - Styleflip

video upload by Stereoping

"I always disliked the dirty, scratched look of my black #MPC1000XL i once bought 2nd hand. In summer 21 i finally found the time to give it a decent styleflip. I planned to make it look a bit like the gorgous #MPC-60. First the original frontpanel was scanned to have a Photohop background. After all outlines and typo were added i gave a faceplate sticker with cutouts into production. Then the case and the acrylic window with it's deep scratches were sanded. The case got a white painting, the window was polished to high gloss. The window did not come out 100% perfect but much better than before. Btw... toothpaste does NOT do the job. Then I made some 3D-prints for nicer Data and Volume knobs, first in fancy transparent blue and red, later dark grey. Not sure which i like more, tending to the red/blue ones. The last step were some woodcheeks - difficult because the 1000 does have strangely formed sides with all kinds of edges and corners.

Featured gear besides the MPC: #OSCar, #JV-1080, #NordDrum2, DIY-MPC-MuteScener"
