The Limp

The Limp from Quijote Cinemusica on Vimeo.

"Stormy Weather in Jupiter. A patch on my Yusynth/MFOS/HexInverter modular. Ryk Miller Custom Hex Jupiter Storm doing the crazy noises while the two yusynth VCOs through the ARP filter clone take care of the low bass. I used the sequencer to program rhythms by connecting it to the FM of the LFO and using the LFO square wave as clock."

G-Storm Electro Introduces the JP4 Chorus - Dual BBD Ensemble for Eurorack

video by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2021

Introducing my JP4 Chorus: a eurorack adaptation of the Roland Jupiter-4 Ensemble effect.
Using dual bucket brigade delay lines.
Headphones recommended :D
Check my Reverb store for module availability

In this video I will be auditioning basic waveforms from my 101-VCO thru the JP4 Chorus.
Then adding some reverb from FX aid.
Roland Juno-1 basic sawtooth patch thru the JP4 Chorus with the help of a homemade preamp.
Note: while the JP4 Chorus is designed primarily for eurorack signals, you will want an instrument/line preamp module for use w/ external gear like guitars and synthesizers.

Timestamps
0:00 Opening sounds, Intro and functions
1:24 101-VCO basic waveforms through JP4 Chorus
3:43 101-VCO to JP4 Chorus to FX Aid (Reverb Swell Wet)
4:40 Roland Juno-1 through JP4 Chorus
6:13 Juno-1 to JP4 Chorus to FX Aid Reverb"

via G-Storm Electro's Reverb shop:

Oh glorious analog BBD goodness! JP4 Chorus is a mono-input, stereo-output chorus ensemble made for eurorack. Employing two LFO-modulated bucket brigade delay lines. The original MN3004 chips are extinct – and no re-issues in sight. But fret not young grasshoppa, the JP4 Chorus uses NOS Panasonic TDA1022 chips. Bestow your rack with the nirvana it requires.

RATE: SLOW is the lazy swirl of the original Jupiter-4; MED you can feel the momentum gaining traction; FAST is like a lively string ensemble when you feed it a raw sawtooth.

ON/OFF Switch: not true bypass, but the delay lines are removed from the audio path well enough.

Please note – JP4 Chorus is designed for eurorack signals. Guitar/Mic/Line level external synths and instruments will need a pre-amp or instrument input module.

Be sure to check out my other cool modules available in my Reverb store.

Includes 16-pin-to-10-pin power connector cable.

Specifications:

Inputs: 1 mono input jack w/ signal attenuation
Power: 10-pin Eurorack standard shrouded header
Outputs: 2 jacks Stereo Output Pair
Current: 20mA +12V, 80mA -12V, +5V (not used)
Width: 4HP
Depth: 45mm
JP4 Chorus pairs well with:

101-VCO
Happy Nerding FX Aid reverbs and delays
Bastl Hendrikson, for outboard instruments

G-Storm Electro Patches for Roland Jupiter-6 [Demo #4]

video by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2021

Auditioning some original Roland Jupiter-6 patches available for download.
I had the good fortune of getting another Jupe in the studio.
The previous one that had Europa was sold.
This one is an earlier model, and was purchased dead.
After bringing it back to life and calibration...
Soon I had quickly re-programmed all my favorite sounds.

This video is unrehearsed, so lots of noodling.
Not dwelling too long on any one sound, to save your time.
So if you skip around, you might miss something. Just sayin' :D
Chord stabs, sweeps, bass, arpeggio, sound fx, leads.
Patch F7 is my template (default, or blank) patch.
Patch F8 is my scratch patch,
for when I can't remember what location I wanted to over-write.

The Roland Jupiter-6 has only rudimentary midi capability:
simple note on/off and patch change midi message only.
So, these patches can only be dumped all at once using the cassette interface.
BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR OWN PATCHES BEFORE OVER-WRITING THEM!

Download the patches as an mp3 audio file on my blog:
https://gstormelectronica.blogspot.co...
I have used the JP-6 VERIFY function and confirm the audio file is good.

No additional effects or processing was used, aside from some normalization.
Video was made in great haste - so it's un-edited, some audio levels are clipping.
And sometimes scratchy volume pot."

circadian rhythms meets richter ii

Published on Mar 6, 2015 SunFallsMusic

"TipTop Audio's new Circadian Rhythms trigger sequencer, first real run. Clocked externally by Malekko Richter Osc II being modulated by MakeNoise Wogglebug CV out. Going through the motions. Working heavily with Preset Looping. Creating complex patterns with the Chaos/Random button. This was only 1 group cycling through 8 presets (8 steps each giving me 64 steps).

Voices are :Basimilus Iteritas, Braids & Jupiter Storm only. Processed via Echophon and Erbe-Verb.
This trigger sequencer is amazing !"

Arturia Introduces V Collection Classics

Published on Apr 1, 2015 Arturia Web

"Arturia launches legendary soft synth classics collection to lead into musical temptation

GRENOBLE, FRANCE: following in the footsteps of its super-successful V Collection 4 premium software collection, launched to critical acclaim late last year, music software and hardware developer and manufacturer Arturia is proud to announce availability of V Collection Classics — conveniently rounding up five of its most sought-after Analog Classics soft synth emulations of five legendary analogue synthesizers from five legendary brands into a musically tempting, competitively-priced package — as of April 2...

ARP, Moog, Oberheim, Roland, and Sequential Circuits... classic analogue synthesizer-manufacturing names all. And all of those classic companies — past and present — have produced at least one legendary instrument that truly impacted the music industry throughout the Seventies and into the Eighties and beyond. Indeed, the sought-after sounds of these instruments still resonate today. Think ARP 2600 (1970-81), MinimoogTM (1970-81), Synthesizer Expander Module® (1974-79), Jupiter-8 (1981-84), and Prophet-5 (1978-82). And Arturia has played a not inconsiderable part in bringing these still- sought-after sounds into today’s computer-centric recording and performance workflow thanks to TAE® (True Analog Emulation), an advanced proprietary technology allowing accurate modelling of analogue circuitry behaviour on personal computers. Conveniently, all five of Arturia’s award-winning Analog Classics soft synth emulations of those analogue classics are available to musically tempt as a must-have, competitively-priced package... please welcome, V Collection Classics! Come join us, then, as we make the musical introductions...

Arturia’s ARP 2600 V is a truly versatile sound creation tool with a massive musical bite; indeed, its raw and dirty character is perfectly suited to creating massive drum ’n’ bass stabs to growlin’, funky bass lines and spaced-out drones, with much in-between. From the starship funk lead lines of the Seventies to the gangsta whine of mid-Nineties hip-hop, the ever- present MinimoogTM has been making its phat presence felt for four-plus decades; Arturia’s award-winning Mini V even offers polyphony and additional modulation options, effectively turning it into an authentic-sounding Memorymoog emulation... well, sort of. Oberheim’s Synthesizer Expander Module® (SEM) started life as an add-on synthesizer module for fattening up Minimoogs before becoming a sought-after sound in its own right, with up to eight embedded in Oberheim’s groundbreaking Seventies-vintage polysynths; still sought-after today for its stunning-sounding multimode filter, Arturia offers all this and more in its outstanding Oberheim SEM V emulation. The runaway success of Roland’s then-flagship Jupiter-8 programmable analogue polysynth took the synth world by storm upon its 1981 release, boosting its already superlative sonic capabilities by adding an arpeggiator that helped make many mega hit singles shine forth musically — think Duran Duran (‘Save A Prayer’) and Howard Jones (‘New Song’); similarly, Arturia’s Jupiter-8 V is a real musical workhorse, capable of creating a very versatile range of sounds — stretching from fat to ‘crystalline’ — while going above and beyond the capabilities of the original instrument, thanks to its additional modulation possibilities and inbuilt effects. Last but not least, the Prophet-5 is truly a legend in its own lifetime as the world’s first fully-programmable polyphonic synthesizer; again, Arturia’s Prophet V faithfully brings back to life those historic and superlative sounds, together with those of the 1986-vintage, California-created classic Prophet VS Digital Vector Synthesizer, Sequential’s first digital design (and, alas, the final synth, sadly, from the iconic innovative instrument manufacturer). Must we say more?

Maybe just one more thing, then: thanks to V Collection Classics"

DPO 4 Pluto

Published on Jul 15, 2015 SunFallsMusic

"1st encounter & session with the MakeNoise DPO (dual prismatic oscillator) installed. Just went with what started happening. This is my favourite excerpt from todays session, after being away from the studio for a week. Enjoy the lil jam :)

Patch notes would be difficult. As i was just grabbing and patching away. the modulation is deep. But the basics:
DPO main voice, Benjolin background noise (both being pitch sequenced differently)
Asteroid BDv4 kick, Jupiter Storm snare.
All being subtley process by Clouds, Echophon, Erbe-Verb.
With Circadian Rhythm driving and being driven by PM Bender, and the Ultra Random Analog playing lots of roles."

The Roland Jupiter-6 Synthesizer is an absolute MONSTER. Pads, Bass, Arpeggio, Strings, Leads - it's all here. And the JP-6 is my favorite go-to synthesizer for SOUND EFFECTS. I have crammed a plethora of strangely beautiful effects and noise that demonstrates its versatility which is beyond comprehension.

Obviously no actual synthesizers were harmed in the making of this all Roland Jupiter-6 demonstration. The TR-8 provided rhythm backing, Big Sky and Timefactor for effects. All tracks were recorded direct to Cubase SX3 via E-mu 1616. NO additional production, eq, compressors, mastering, etc. was used whatsoever."
