TROGOTRONIC COMPILATION II

"GK#400 c&p 2013 karaoke/trogotronic/various artists

released 27 March 2013
GRINDCORE CINEMA presents
a TROGOTRONIC AUDIO INSTRUMENTS production
"Trogotronic Compilation II"

Join the stinking waxie hair-filled sound holes of the knuckle dragging subhumans in celebration of the very worst audio compositions submitted for disapproval to mark the milestone 400th release with our publishing partner Grindcore Karaoke : The Trogotronic Compilation II. Never in the history of humans has there been a collection of sounds so certain to repel even the most tolerant of friends, relatives, neighbors, trusted pets & most especially hominids of the fairer sex.

The selection process was tedious & habit forming as seen here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=cshqjUVY6y0 on our YouTube channel : www.youtube.com/user/trogotronic a fly on the wall look at Trogotronic brain trust Professor Rube & lab assistant Eyesly Dickenson deep in contemplation.

Trogotronic Model 11 M Series Euro Module & Module Kit

via Trogotronic

"Introducing the first ever Trogotronic instrument offered as a kit in the grand tradition of the Benton Harbor greats. But she is also offered (for a “Few Dollars More”) as a complete module, the most economical choice if time is harder earned than cash.
Trogotronic Model 11 Series M

Traditional VCA
Trogotronic Style Performance Audio Controller
Trogotronic Style Performance CV Controller
CV Generator
Only 4hp Wide
180 Degree Control Array Orientation
Skiff friendly 1.6″ Depth
Superior Momentary Button Switch

This lithe lady can be used as an Audio Controller, a CV Generator, a CV Controller, and a VCA (all pretty much at the same time). The superb feel of the momentary button is no fluke; Years of searching a small mountain of buttons available on the American market yielded only specimens of over-sprung stiffness; poor choices for a musical work which demands correct weight & throw for deft performance. Finally we found what we were looking for in a tiny shop at a Japanese electronics bazaar. We arranged direct import of these hand-picked gems to Trogotronic—exclusively—for the sole purpose of destroying fascists the world over with sonic display.

Model 11M Kit consists of all 45 parts + a 2.5mm driver & a full color checklist / instructional for all 23 steps (eat your heart out P-Orridge). It does NOT include a toolkit or materials such as solder and all too rare common sense, patience, time & undivided attention (all of which are necessary to complete this modest build).

Assembled Model 11 comes complete with euro format mounting hardware & 2.5mm tool (as above kit) + owners card & instruction sheet as all of the Trogotronic M-Series modules do.

"Informational video and brief demonstration of the Trogotronic 333M "Euro-format" Analog Module.
The 333 Converts audio signal to 3 Control Voltage channels:
1. A traditional Envelope Follower
2 & 3. Vie the Event Sequencer
See Trogotronic.com for more information."

"Within the myopic domain of patch-cord cowboys wiggling cheeks to the beat of blinkie lights, the outside world is escaped from… forgotten… even ignored. If it’s strumed it’s ho-hummed. Banged? Danged! Sung? Save your lungs!

The Triple-3 aims to shatter the safe confines of Urkle’s inner-sanctum. Trogotronic welcomes in the freaks who with to interact with yon knob collection in an entirely new fashion: The Model 333 M is a three channel audio-to-cv generator that reacts to audio input in a very useful way:

As a Traditional Envelope Follower
As a Nine Step Event Sequencer
“Ditto” in a third Discrete Channel

Mic your neighbors loud-assed hog & you have a two channel sequencer which is triggered in time to the odd, organic lope of her Milwaukee-made V-Twin; Mic Bonzo’s kick drum & your rig reacts to every extra drunken lazy foot kick; Patch it to Maso’s flying Altoids “shaker box” full of Japanese pennies & your modules are perfectly controlled by the supernatural Osaka master of the 55-second polyester display. 333 M Series even means yer barking dog is officially in your techno-band. Mazel tov fair Fido! 333 Features:

3 Channel Audio-to-CV Generator
1 Envelope Generator
2 Channel, 9 Step Event Sequencer
3 Discrete Decay Controls (1 for each channel)
Input Attack Control
Input Preamp Gain Control
Sequencer Range Control
Sequencer Mode Selector
12 Blinding Blue & Red lights
Compact @ Only 10hp
Sequence Breakout Bus foreshadows “more to come”

Gain Control allows the use of everything from the weak signal of a mic or guitar with no preamp to the “hot” signal output from another module without trouble. Range, Attack & Decay Controls allow a great number of adjustments to create odd/organic sequences as well as shaping the Envelope. Sequence Mode selects progressive or single step activation; Both modes have our unique Smooth-Transition Circuitry between steps. Two Sequencer Channel Decay Controls modify CV creating either hard staccato steps or slowly fading voltage glory. Model 333 M ships complete with Printed User Guide, Trogotronic Owner’s Card, 7″ Power Bus Ribbon Cable, Allen Head Fasteners + USA Made Installation Tool packaged in an almost handsome, earth-killing recyclable box. Trogotronic road-proven construction means ALL controls are fastened to the the control board with a nut not just soldered to the circuit board only to be throw-away after a few hard tours of duty. And, of course, ALL Trogotronic instruments are hand-made in the stinkin’ USA by subhumans rather than contracted out to the cheapest overseas bidder by the boardroom fascist overlords.

Specs:

Euro-Format
10HP
Depth 2″ (with power cable attached)
+12v rail peak current 120ma (Sequence switch @ “9”)
+12v rail average current 70ma
-12v rail peak current 5ma
CV output 0 to +10.5v "

Trogotronic m/277 Dual Tube VCA Tutorial Videos by Learning Modular

Published on Jun 15, 2018 Learning Modular

"This set of five movies covers the Trogotronic m/277 Stereo High-Voltage Tube VCA / Overdrive / Preamp module. Even if you don't have this specific module, the series covers a lot of useful information on managing signal levels to get different sounds out of a module, stereo and faux stereo processing, and the differences between putting the VCA before or after the VCA.

The first movie is an overview & demo of the module. The remaining movies cover using it as an output overdrive processor, using it as a stereo-izer (panning etc.), how it behaves as a VCA in the “normal” position after the filter, and how that behavior changes if you place it before the VCF.

These movies are also part of my Eurorack Expansion course on LearningModular.com:

Voice with Qneo Voice Synth on iPhone (thru Trogotronic 676)

Mixdown & some edits in Logic Pro.

I'm not shure about the sound because I'm not at home & had to mix the track on some cheep iPhone earbuds :(

Okay - I did this track just 4 fun, messing around with this sick module, thinking the guys from Togotronic still don't know what it's doing - I don't know that too :D

So let's go noise!

Trogotronic 676 vs 666_1

YouTube Published on Apr 23, 2012 by DJjondent

"A friend of mine has asked me to compare the two modules.
So here goes.

Are they just noise machines.?
Are these musical?
Who cares??
They are handmade beasts.
If you like britney spears (no offence to B) this module is not for you.

I found that Both are really Really hard to tame.
But possibly the makers dont intend that they "behave".
In the 1st demo of the 676
Ive got a single CV signal from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs on the 676.
I don't think its meant to track Hz/v or 1v/oct.

The other modulation inputs respond to LFOs and envelopes.
It has 5 CV inputs

Maybe a gate triggering an envelope might produce interesting results.
The 3 switches are described as normal (up) and mayhem (down).
I think this says it it all. :-)

Its Worth future experimentation if you like stepping outside the comfort zone

Beware ..the sound may be harsh for some.

I'll compare the trog 666 next

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"

"Ok now the 666... the number of the beast.
Im expecting the apocalypse now.

Its got 9 CV inputs.
Ive got the same single CV signal that I used with the 676.
Its from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs.

Ive added 2 extra Cv signals from the snazzy FX.
OMG.,,, there are still 5 left unused

Lots of burp, fart and swarms of locust noises.

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"

Analog Audio Tube Mayhem // SpazeDrum + Infernal Noise Machine + Trogotronic 679 #TTNM

video upload by THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES

"Just a little LOUD AND DISTORTED Trogotronic Infernal Noise Machine SpazeDrum Sound of Shadows SOUND DESTRUCTION! WAAAGH!!! Well ... so ... I wanted to use the Flight of Harmony INM-E to process the analog Gotharman SpazeDrum output. But then I thought: "Why not step it up a notch?". So I added the Trogotronic 679 vacuum tube ... THING ... and sent the result through Flight of Harmony's Sound of Shadows delay too.

I love to hear from you and talk about synths and stuff, so always feel welcome to post a comment or send me an e-mail to:

Trogotronic 665 Analog Synth

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction

"Trogotronic gear is designed and built by W.T. Nelson of Bastard Noise / Man Is The Bastard. Here is the builders description of the device.

'The Trogotronic Model 665 Subterranean Analog Artifact Explorer: ideally suited for expeditions into the realm of analog higher-order thresholds whose existence is poorly addressed (more often forgotten completely) in the algorithms that math stooges write for large audio electronics firms who seek to capture real life analog circuits in stale equations computed by cheap microprocessors. Turbulent, complex and unstable areas of analog sound difficult to navigate let alone discover with even the most sophisticated and expensive analog synthesis gear are readily accessed with a twist of this eight-knobber. Sharp, ragged and searing solos tones; horrifying torturous particle blasts and soothing lengthy Venusian jungle bird calls that cycle lazily (with a bit of fine tuning exploration).

With an interface that is simple and concise but a range that spans great heights and depths, the 665 also transforms and modulates sounds that are sent through it'"

Stereo Drum and Bass patch Grendel Formant Filter/ Trogotronic 277M

Stereo Drum and Bass patch Grendel Formant Filter/ Trogotronic 277M from Equinoxoz music solutions on Vimeo.

"This is something I wanted to try since I got the Grendel formant filters in stock, a full stereo patch in the drum and bass style.

I set up an ES4 to play the bassline, there is a sequence clocked from my Syncgen LSII in time with the loops coming from Ableton live.

Basically its set up so an E340 cloud generator in 8 Osc mode gets split into the two Grendels, setting different for the left and right channels, these outputs were then mixed via two Manhattan Mixers with a Z3000 MK2 doing the fat sine sub octave and the Triangle from that is going to a Happy nerding super sawtor just to add a bit more "grit" to the sound.

The outputs from the two mixers go into the left and right channels of a Trogotronic 277M which is the VCA for the output of this patch, it adds some great crushing distortion and with a bit of different settings of the drive, a bit more stereo separation and grit.

overall this was a super fun little high energy patch, a synergy between the loops and the machines.

I hope you enjoy :)"

Trogotronic Compilation: On a Particularly Uneventful Day

Published on Mar 29, 2013

"Ever wonder how the creative process begins at Trogotronic? Join Professor Rube & lab assistant Eyesly Dickenson on a day of brainstorming at which ranges from tedious contemplation to a "eureka" moment of breakthrough documented herein as they premier the second Trogotronic compilation."

New from Trogotronic

Model 655 Analog Generator/Effect $135.00
A little sister to the "665", the Six-FIFTY-FIVE adds an oscillator but looses a pre-amp chip, a few knobs and $45 off the sticker price. Hear samples on the website alone and effecting poorly played guitar and really bad digital drums.
CV Controller Joystick $165.00
Necessity is the mother of invention: frustration with an interface born before the light bulb between myself and an analog modular synth' begat the "Iron Cross CV". It is an Analog Synthesizer ControllerJoystick compatible with any synth' rig that uses the control voltage standard and is available in right or left handed configurations. Hear a quick and extremely dirty demo of one working out with a real nice PAIA on the website.

Iron Cross 2.0 Audio Controller $200
Yeah, we know, 200 bucks is a lot... But it's also a lot LESS than 300+ bucks that it cost to buy version one... Those who bought one then have never looked back and "won't leave home without one". Those who still don't have any idea what this thing is about might be a little closer to finding out:
The stick itself is a premium, heavy duty Japanese job withactionand feelsuperior to anything available here in the states. Problem is the the best materials are cumbersome and expensive to import.
So we refined the design and chassis materials to make the unit easier to use, easier to build and cheaper to produce... everybody wins including the curious and elusive grandpa selling the best joystick on earth in his 2 square meter shop in Nippon.
For the first time at Trogotronic.com there's a sound sample (thanks to the fellas in Geronimo) of the Iron Cross in action.

Land Mine "True" Bypass $50
Claymore Super Bypass $100
Since we recommend NOT jumping feet first on any of the analog generators that we sell we offer sturdy little stomp-boxes to take the hit.
LAND MINE is as simple as can be: one stomp is "on", one more is "off". "On" routes the signal through the effects send jacks, "off" bypasses the effects loop altogether. Or it can control a signal by ignoring the bypass altogether and using the box alone as an on/off switch.
CLAYMOREworks the same but has two extra switches... the switch on the right works the same as the Landmine's but the one on the left is a momentary, only "on" as long as you step on it. The middle switch selects which of the two is being used, and the indicator lamps tell which of the two is active.
Both are passive 'true" bypass designs (to make sure the sound you put in is the sound you get out) and both are compatible with any gear that uses 1/4" phono plugs... so you could route signal to an auxiliary amp' or to and from your Barbarian with a tap of the toe.

All of these things are at Trogotronic.com and all are hand built by Free-Range, non organic Smog-Breathing Troglodytes in LBC, USA.
