Z3000 MKII + MI RIPPLES + Doepfer Dark Time

Published on Dec 10, 2015 Alba Ecstasy

"TipTop Audio Z3000 MKII, Mutable Instruments Ripples and Doepfer Dark Time in my first 'modular" video. Not too much, but if you're looking for a Z3000 oscillator or a Ripples filter or even a Doepfer Dark Time sequencer, maybe it will help you a little. A few annotations of what is happening - during the video. Thanks for watching!

Eurorack with Octatrack 2

Published on Sep 5, 2014 eastablishrec

"Modular's output (except two Z3000 go straight to Mackie) was fed into Octatarck's input A/B and C. Use OT's track 1-3 for realtime sampling (mostly sampled Braids) and 5-8 to process incoming modular sound (use through and neighbor tracks).
Used two Z3000 for high pitch FM sound and kick drum.
Only additional kick drum were prepared, rest were made by modular in realtime.

Modules used in this video are

Make Noise DPO, Wogglebug, Maths
Mutable Instruments Braids, Ripples
Intellijel uVCF x 2, uVCA, Buff Mult x 2
Tiptop Audio Z3000 x 2, Z4000

4MS Atoner

YouTube Uploaded by ISOTROPOSPHERE on Jun 15, 2011

"BACK IN THE RA CHA CHA CHA !!!!!

This is also subtitled "Fun with real audio" and features the 4MS Atoner module. Most folks seem to go with the Noiseswash from 4MS, I went with the Atoner as it seems to be most like the Technosaurus Effexon in some ways.

This vid features audio I recorded at the local airport using the outdoor observation post where they have a PA Horn broadcasting the tower frequencies. This PA horn is just under the floor boards on the upper portion of the observation deck so getting a good recording was pretty easy.

Real audio sent to 4MS Atoner input / 4MS being modulated by the Wogglebug and by the Noisering / Atoner internal VCO off. Real audio also sent to the Elby Synthicon Filter bandpass section and being modulated by the Livewire Vulcan Mdltr..
Rene is locked on a 4 step pattern sending all info to the Flame tame machine. Rene pattern also straight to TT Z3000 mk I , pulse width on wave modulation from Synthwerks 4C/B. Flame Tame machine getting tickled by the pressure output from the Pressure Points, output to TT Z3000 mkII. Both Z3000 waves into the QMMG channels 3 and 4 and out the combined mix out. QMMG to Korg Kaoss pad then to mixer."

TIPTOP NEW FOLD PROCESSOR ACID FUNK

TIPTOP NEW FOLD PROCESSOR ACID FUNK from Station 252 on Vimeo.

"Testing the new Fold Processor module from Tiptop Audio.

After testing what it does it's time to put the Fold Processor through some real life workout.

1: Z3000 SINE > FOLD PROCESSOR > TTA Z2040 (frequency and amplitude modulated by 2x Z4000)

2. Z3000 Triangle > FOLD PROCESSOR > TTA Z2040 (frequency and amplitude modulated by 2x Z4000)

3. Z3000 SAW > FOLD PROCESSOR > R*S VCFQ low pass (cut off modulated by Z4000 and Doepfer LFO) > WMD "Digital" VCA (modulated by Z4000)

Self-Generative Modular #3

Self-Generative Modular #3 from Kial on Vimeo.

"A self-generative modular patch that is driven by the uScale, Animodule's Tiktok, and the clock and S&H waveform from the TTLFOv2. In this patch the TTLFOv2 provides the main clock source, and voltages used for pitch via the S&H LFO wave. Clock pulses from TTLFO are sent to TikTok to generate gates at the division outs. The main output of the TTLFO, in 0-5V mode, sends voltages to the uScale for quantization. 'Output A' of the uScale is sent to the TTA z3000 VCO, with a free running, unipolar square wave LFO changing the 'shift' value in scale. Sawtooth out of the z3000--->input of the Polaris MMF. LP out of the Polaris--->input of Rings in reverb FX mode--->stereo mixer. MULTI output of Polaris sent to uVCAII, which is controlled by the z4000 EG being triggered at every 4th division. Output of uVCAII---> Malekko MIX--->WMD/SSF DPLR stereo delay--->stereo mixer (subMix6) Waveshaped output of TTA z3000---> Meng Qi LPG, which is controlled by QuBit EON in envelope mode, triggered every 3rd division. Meng Qi DLPG output--->Malekko MIX--->WMD/SSF DPLR. Dixie II, Disting, and RS-80 supply modulation of various parameters on the aforementioned modules with some help from uFold, and ModDemix.....none of these LFOs are clock synced to create a constant evolution of sound."

Walking on the Clouds ;)

Published on Dec 28, 2015 Alba Ecstasy

"This video is about Clouds. This famous (sorry about the first typo - geeez) texture synthesiser.
You don’t even need a serious audio input to feed it, because it’s capable of amazing this by itself. Still:

I used the self oscillation of Ripples to generate the sound, where Cutoff is modulated by Z3000 as LFO with square and Resonance with sawtooth.

The sine of Z3000 is also feeding the FM of Ripples.

I used BP2 and LP4 to feed (through the DVCA) Clouds’ inputs.

Doepfer’s gate, through MFB ADSR is controlling Freeze and Position.
Doepfer’s CV out is controlling the Clouds’ Pitch.

LFO Z3000’s sine to Clouds’ Texture and triangle to Density.
Recorded in Logic Pro."

Z3000 Production Update

just posted on the Tiptop Audio Blog: "We've been working around the clock... Burning the midnight oil... Applying copious amounts of elbow grease... Whatever you want to call it, we've been doing it. All to get the Z3000 out the door. The first batch is being assembled as this post goes up and needless to say we are extremely excited.

We hope to have the first batch available by the end of this month or very early next month. More importantly, this first batch is fairly limited, so if you want one keep an eye on the site for launch and distributor announcements!"

You might remember the Z3000 from these posts. Note the updated graphic.

Sport Melodator

Published on Jan 17, 2014 Junk Rhythm·6 videos

"Entirely made 'in the box' modular synthesis without those pesky email machines. No editing. No EDM sample packs. No MIDIs were harmed in the making of this video.

The melody is derived from a Z3000 with is fed as an LFO into the Sport Modulator. The Sport Modulator is then funneled into Quantimator to tune it up and then hand fed into another Z3000. The bass is from a third Z3000 VCO."

Random Analog Melody - Roland System100 & TipTop Audio (HQ Audio)

Published on Nov 28, 2017 Francesco Poggianti

"An experiment making the Roland System 100 (MOD102) and the TipTop Audio minisystem interact in a random access melodic theme.
The "S & H out" of the Roland drive the direction of the sequencer and the clock.
The TipTop programmer/sequencer controls the vcos for the melody and modulations.
The TipTop Z3000 vco is used as an audio source together with the Roland vco, and as a modulator for the filter and for the Roland vco.
The Z3000 is used as source for the sample and hold too."

Tiptop Audio Systems - patch 8

Published on Feb 19, 2015 Tiptop .Audio

"Two systems, actually one and a half, the second system is only half full. Two Z-DSPs and few Z3000 and the beautiful Halls of Valhalla. One DragonFly delay is VC over time from the Z8000, All sounds are played from the Circadian Rhythms, and one MIXZ mixes everything before hitting the z-DSPs. Coming out of the systems with two stereo pairs from the Z-DSPs and one mono from the BD909. There are two Z2040, one for each of the sounds played, and modulated at audio rate by a Z3000. At the center of the black system are two Quantizer prototypes that I’m using in Keyboard mode."

Touch clock

Touch clock from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"Following the Make Noise manual's suggestion for "stopping" the Wogglebug's clock by patching an otherwise unconnected cable into the Clock Input, I thought I'd try touching the end of the cable to advance the clock...

It worked!

Here's the patch:

The Wogglebug's Clock Out is sent to a mult, and from there to (a) the Gate In on an A-140 Envelope Generator and the Trigger In on an A-160 Clock Divider.

The Clock Divider's outputs are sent to an A-138c mixer's inputs, the output of which is controlling a Z3000 VCO (via an A-170 Slew Limiter, lightly-- basically a Binary Zone patch).

The Saw Out from the Z3000 is sent to the top half of the A-132-3 DVCA, and the Square Out is sent to the Signal In on an A-196 PLL. The Phase Comp Out from the PLL is sent to the bottom half of the 132-3 (and from there to the computer, right channel).

Both VCAs are being controlled by the A-140.

The top half of the 132-3 is sent out to a Frostwave Resonator and a Blue Ringer (and from there to the computer, left channel).

The Resonator's Low Pass Frequency is being controlled by the Wogglebug's Stepped Output.

Touching the tip and the sleeve of the Clock cable at the same time advances the clock by one step; touching the tip alone cycles it very quickly.

I'm sure with a bit of attenuation, this could be more precise!

Sound of Z8000

YouTube Uploaded by popitem on Jun 30, 2011

"Basic idea is using a sequencer as an oscillator and the oscillators as a modulation source.
The patch is 2 Tiptop Audio Z3000 and a Z8000, all audio is from the Z8000: 2 row routed to a mixer are clocked at audio rate by the waveform of the 2 Z3000 (wich are cross modulated, waveform to PWM to cv to cv)."
