Always thought it was interesting these had serial number badges on the top left panel.

"But not only, this monophonic synthesizer has plenty of possibilities and combinations.
2 sections : synthe and instrument, can be mixed together, cross modulated and more.
The parameter/effect section is also really complete :
Transpose, VCF modulation, HP BP LP filter by joysticks.
Noise modulation, Portamento.
And.. quarter tone ! This is an amazing possibility for the musicians who use microtonal scales, by pressing 2 notes at the same time you get smaller intervals !
Also every preset is programmable by the rotary potentiometers above.

This unit has been meticulously checked, serviced and calibrated.
Ready to leave for a studio or a collector.
This synthesizer is really beautiful but also sounds great !
Combined with a tape echo or a tiny amount of reverb and you will be satisfied for hours jamming with this synth."

"MicroFreak receives new oscillator and more in 2.0 firmware update

On top of announcing KeyLab Essential 88 and KeyStep Pro at NAMM 2020, French audio pioneers Arturia have also revealed a surprise update to their incredibly popular MicroFreak digital synth.

The MicroFreak 2.0 update adds several exciting new features and functions, refines some existing ones, and fixes a few minor bugs.

New Features
New Noise oscillator: morph between particle noise, white noise, and a metallic noise that’s reminiscent of a synth cymbal. An exciting new voice that will open up powerful new drum and percussion possibilities in MicroFreak.

Chord Mode: by holding the Paraphony button and playing some notes, you program the chord, then replay the shape with a single key.

Scale quantization: In the Utility settings, you can activate scale quantization to your favorite scale. When activated, the “white notes” on the keyboard play whichever scale you have selected. No more wrong notes!

Sequencer streamlining: in 2.0 firmware update, you’re now able to easily copy Pattern A to Pattern B in an instant.

Matrix initialize: before 2.0 firmware update, if you wanted to clear the Matrix of all routings, you’d have to manually do it. Now you can just hold the Shift and perform a long press on the encoder, and it will clear!
64 New Presets: Loads of exciting sounds to explore using the new oscillator and features.

Improvements
MicroFreak now displays visual feedback even when Local Control is off.
The synth’s Local Control now also translates USB to MIDI Out.
The release of currently playing presets are now cleared when switching to a new one.
The Record LED now blinks on each beat, instead of on 16ths.

Thanks to MicroFreak’s digital mind, the team at Arturia will be able to offer more exciting updates and improvements like this over time, ensuring that MicroFreak is always fresh and relevant.

To update your synth, simply connect it to your computer, load up the Arturia MIDI Control Center, and hit the 'update' button for MicroFreak."

ASM Hydrasynth Version 1.3.0 Firmware Update

"LOS ANGELES, CA, USA/HONG KONG, CHINA: musician-empowering musical instruments creator Ashun Sound Machines (ASM) is proud to advance its innovative Hydrasynth digital wave morphing synthesizer — launched late last year to widespread critical acclaim as its inaugural hardware product, produced as a keyboard variant (featuring a proprietary PolytouchTM 49-note polyphonic aftertouch keybed and a user-assignable ribbon controller) and desktop variant (with 24 velocity- and polyphonic aftertouch- sensitive pads, plus an included 19-inch rack-mount kit) — with welcomed new features, thanks to a major firmware update, ultimately coinciding with the first day of The 2020 NAMM Show, January 16-19, Anaheim, CA, USA, where both variants of Hydrasynth will wow visitors for the first time for sure…

NAMM 2020 - Introducing System 100 - Behringer Modular Synthesizer

Published on Jan 16, 2020 BEHRINGER

"Introducing eleven new Eurorack compatible modules – all of them authentic reproductions of original “System 100M” circuitry from 1975. With ultra-fat oscillators and creamy filters the sound became famous in the early 80s used by artists like Depeche Mode, Human League, Tears For Fears but also Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and even Aphex Twin.

If you’re into super-fat bass sounds, in-your-face leads or flowing soundscapes, definitely check them out! All modules are incredibly feature rich, have tremendous patching capabilities and a lot of them come with dual function, like:

- 112 dual oscillator with 3 waveforms, PWM and two sync modes
- 121 dual filter with 3-channel mixer per filter
- 130 dual VCA, again with dual 3-channel mixers
- 140 dual envelope has 3 outputs per ADSR plus a built in LFO that can be triggered and phase synced
- 173 gates module comes even with four gates that can switch audio and 6 quad buffered multiples
- 297 has a dual portamento controller plus two independent CV mixers
- 150 brings a ring modulator, 2 noise generators, syncable LFO and a sample and hold generator
- 172 module delivers a 6-step phase-shifter, an analog delay, an LFO and a gate delay
- 305 is an output module a four-band parametric EQ, a 4-channel mixer, line and separate headphone output and even a tuning oscillator
- 182 there is a powerful analog sequencer with either dual 8 steps or 1-16 steps and tempo, portamento and gate time controls
- 110 is a complete synth voice with VCO, VCA and filter in a single module

#NAMM2020"

Update: Word is this might be an AMSynths joint project. From their website:

"Behringer Partnership In June 2019 I joined forces with Behringer to design analog synthesizers that will be manufactured in China and sold to customer across the world. I am working on a number of projects which I will let Behringer announce when they are ready. AMSynths is continuing to grow with more Euro Rack modules being manufactured, as well as complete synthesizers like the SH05 and Jupiter One. In 2019 I started to restore vintage music gear, and you will see the repair stories in my Blog. I am also creating videos of my modules and the vintage synths that they emulate."

Update: some product sheet scans in in via Soviet Space Child and a note on one of the forums from Uli.

"I like to share with you the initial drafts of our M100 Eurorack Series.

These are 13 MID's or concept documents we create for every single product as part of our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) process before we hand them over to our R&D departments for development.

We haven't decided yet which of these modules we will actually produce as it is important that we achieve a certain production volume.

As usual do we appreciate your valuable feedback which will give a better indication of validity of these products.

Thanks!

Uli"
