Technicians - Sherry Sessions - Inspiration Part 2
YouTube via museumoftechno. MISC synth spotting. See this link for more with synths.
"Cornwell is in love with a beautiful lady trance DJ whom he has seen on Youtube. He yearns to express his feelings for her through the medium of pop eurotrance, but is having trouble finding inspiration in the techno and electro house that comprise the Technicians' own record collection.
Can Bassrock Records or Mac Melto's tunes help trigger the killer idea for a trance tune?"

"This is good example of Noatikl software driving 4 soft synth instances with some ER-1 drums, I never touched the keyboard, just sat back and let the robot do it...
There are 2 instances of TrackTeam Audio's Aetherwave (presets too, I was lazy) and 2 of SonicCharge Synplant...sorry of for that Kenny G like sax lead , and that big steamboat whistle oh well, got to work on my synplant patches I guess
Also between 1:57 and 2:51 it gets a little put of hand drum wise"
See this post for more info on Noatikl. In short: Noatikl (or noatikl) is a powerful yet easy to use generative music tool that will help you generate new musical ideas.
It uses techniques developed over the last 17 years through our work on the award-winning Koan generative music system, techniques now used in the all-new and superior 'Noatikl'... Many years ago, Brian Eno popularised the term "generative music" to describe music that is ever-different and changing, and that is created by a system."

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
These libraries were created by DevineSound, a newly formed sound design company that specializes in the creation of audio content for film, television, gaming, audio hardware/software, interactive web-based environments, and everything else in between.
DevineSound is currently building an online sound library database & store from which free samples will be offered regularly. This month they are offering 3 free custom sample kits made from a heavily modded ARP 2600, a bent and abused TR-808 drum machine, and a broken & prepared santur. These kits are available for download from the DEVSND Library page.
Website: http://devsnd.com

A remix contest for the PULSE library has been launched at ACIDPLANET.COM. Prizes include a Kore 2 controller & Kore Soundpacks, a Sony PSP, Sony Media software, and many other prizes, all provided by Sony Media and Native Instruments. Richard and Josh have collaborated on the original track - Pulse Mix, for this composition contest using loops from our new Pulse library. More than 60 free exclusive loops & samples (not included on the PULSE library) are available for free download. Give the track a good listen, and then take the provided contest download and show these two stellar artists that you’ve got the skills to create an amazing mix of your own. Where could the music take you?

Inside the Stand-Alone Polymoog Resonator - (Polymoogerfooger)

This is a follow-up to this post.
via Elhardt on the AH list:
"Now that I got the external power supply and other parts and finished it, I took a photo of the inside, back, and a new one of the front now that there's a red/green LED there which works just like the Moogerfoogers. That means it's green when the unit is enabled, and red when bypassed."
audio ark.MOV
YouTube via snazelle
"HERE is a test run (minus knobs) of the AUDIO ARK, a handmade box designed for allowing a guitarist to make some very far out noises.
This video is a very basic demo and does not get too heavily into the modulation abilities of the box. Lot's of people have been asking me if it tracks well. I think it does the job. But this box was really meant for WEIRD sounds more than hot licks.
please dont judge based on audio quality, or camera work. and the bad hot licks are simply to show how the machine tracks the guitar.
the audio ark has:
Octave up or down
Interval
ring mod
SSM 2044 filter
Hold function
white noise
sample and hold
vca
ADSR
Special Freak Mode which allows the tracking to get very messed up.
(lag, vibrato, noise,etc)
also has 5 ROTARY cv routing switches
GATE IN
FM IN
CV IN
HOLD FOOTSWITCH
2 lfos with tri and square and CV in.
VCO with SYNC mode (syncs to incoming audio)
can be switched between hold sync or gated
two gate modes
RING MOD which multiplies the tracking signal with a sine wave
also has a LAG function with selectable input
A simple envelope follower
and a bunch of flashing lights.
i think thats it.
this is a custom unit utilizing some ASM2 modules for the ADSR, VCO, VCA, Lag, Ring Mod, and LFO's, as well as 4 home etched circuit boards for the rest.
It was built on request for my friend Charles Lindsay. Based on conversations we had about what he needed, the Ark was built.
this project was given a huge amount of help from the SDIY list community, the DIYSTOMPBOXES community and the Electro MUSIC community.

Hot Tellun Neural Agonizer...
Youtube via neandrewthal
"First patch with the Neural Agonizer. Thought it would be fun to see what it could do to a single droning VCO. The 8 VC-able parameters are modulated by noise, LFOs, envelopes, S&Hs & Wogglebug. Mankato filter and PS-3100 resonators are in the 2 effects send paths. CGS sub-oscillator is in the feedback path."
Thomas Henry Mega Percussive Synthesizer

Voice of Saturn style
"I decided to use a giant sized Voice of Saturn case and had room to add a simple spring reverb module as well. Its pre-patched to take the MPS output, but the jacks are normalled so you can use it with any source."
You can find more info and a demo at The Voice of Saturn blog
WOK MoogoFilter

"This is a MIDI-controllable filter, that gives all your plugins or synths that famous thick sound you all know well. It is true stereo. Put it as an insert into your audio track or behind your synth plugin. Use the frequency and resonance dial for a static sound, or feed it with MIDI-notes to use the integrated envelope generator!"

finger BassLine

It provides a monophonic synthesizer with built-in pattern-based step sequencer.
Synth section features include:
* Oscillator with two waveforms (sawtooth or square)
* Stable low-pass filter allowing high resonance values not leading to self oscillation
* Graphical representation of the filter parameters
Sequencer section features include:
* Individual pattern lengths (up to 64 sixteenths)
* Emphasized notes and pauses
* Smooth transition between notes
* Functions to clear, transpose, shift, and clone patterns
Ideally suited for live performance:
* Realtime modulation of the filter parameters using the intuitive pad-controls
* Pattern switches take effect on downbeat
* Tap-tempo"
You can find the finger BassLine here:
303 Pocket Noise

Jomox XBase999 and M-Resonator
YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Here's a simple beat from the monsterous analog Jomox Xbase999. We're processing it with the Jomox M-Resonator Analog Filter Machine. The M-Resonator has two analog resonant low pass filters interwoven into a feedback matrix that has an envelope section as well. This box is capable of a wide variety of tones. From subtle filter sweeps to extreme feedback, the M-Resonator is a unique piece."
