4 Channel - 8 Step Analog Sequencer

"Up for auction is an 8x4QSMA1 Analog Sequencer. This amazing sequencer offers more options and parameters than you will find on any analog sequencer to be found on the commercial or DIY market. It features 4 individual, 8 Channel sequencer banks. Each bank features its own External Clock Input, Internal Clock Control, Gate,Trigger, and Portamento CV Output. There is a Mix CV Output that allows mixing of all 4 banks, and Bank A also features an S-Trigger Output ! All Input and Output Jacks are ¼ “ Switchcraft “, all IC’s are fully socketed and shielded, the Internal Control PCB is entirely Point-to-Point wiring and soldering, ensuring a long-lasting, quality build.

This sequencer features a Clock Divider that allows for 12 different divisions of the Clock Input from x1 to as high as x4096, and is selectable on all 4 banks. ( the grey/whitec ontrol knob on the lower right side of the panel ) Each bank also has 12 selectable clock control settings, which enables you to either set each banks clock independently, or assign one of the banks to control any or all of the other bank clocks ! ( personally my favorite feature ) There is a master reset switch, as well as individual bank resets. It also features a Pulse Delay Control, enabling you to send in any low to high pulse, and then delay that signal, or increase its width. Finally, it is switchable between both 0-5volts, and 0-11.5 volts. This auction includes a power supply and instructions..."

Bias is especially meaty on the Korg Volca Bass, but in this tutorial I run a TT-303 through it for very dramatic results and then take my invention into JamUp's effects."

"10 tablets randomly and independently process, in real time, a small set of piano samples. The output of each device, taken individually, has no meaning nor purpose. But just as the erratic trajectories of midges in a swarm cancel each other out to form a coherent cloud, the sum of sounds in Music in the Room ( Sharjah ) reveals the boundaries of chance.

It is the evolution of these boundaries that results in the illusion of purpose - the impression of music.

"This is a fantastic, rare vintage analogue drumbox with unique sounds and highly playable pads. Sounds can also be triggered via trigger inputs, there's a range of preset patterns for the hi-hats and a pedal for the kick drum. Separate outs and preset pots on the rear allowing you to adjust pitch/decay etc."

"It is an Italian analogue polyphonic synth. Less than 500 of these were produced! Serial number is U1/00442. It is very rare and unique synthesizer.

It sounds thick and combining all 4 instruments (solo synth, poly synth, organ and strings) gives a unique sound.

In solo synth section you have 5 waveforms to choose. You can mix it with poly synth to create thick 3 oscillator synthesizer! Leslie emulation sounds great and strings will take you to 80's :)

Interestingly Composer uses the same CEM chip to VCA, filters and envelope at such giants as Memorymoog, Oberheim OBX, OBXa/OB8, SCI Prophet 5!

This is a description made by sounddoctorin and a comparison and list of chips used in the Crumar.

Used chips:
- oscillators: (same used in: Crumar Stratus, Trilogy, Performer, Multiman)
- envelopes: Curtis CEM3310 (same used in: Crumar Stratus, Trilogy, Memorymoog, Oberheim OBX, OBXa/OB8, SCI Prophet 5)
- filter: Curtis CEM3320 (same used in: Crumar Stratus, Trilogy, Memorymoog, Oberheim OBXa/OB8, SCI Prophet 5)
- VCA: Curtis CEM3330 (same used in: Crumar Stratus, Trilogy).

Some great functions: keyboard split, mixer for all sections, ADSR, positive/negative envelope amount, cutoff, resonance, independent outputs for all parts, breath controller.

Update: in the post comments below popman called out that his Pulse does not have the Waldorf logo on top.  I actually have an older Nextel painted model minus the logo.  The paint job on this unit indicates a later model Pulse.  What's interesting is it has the original Pulse style knobs vs. the later "silo" or the even later semi-translucent style Waldorf knobs.

"You can hear some of the pitch/tracking issues, but overall I am very pleased with this unit. I do not own the rights to this music. I understand it was written by Mike Post.

All Guitar, Bass, Strings, Piano, and Brass were generated by the Roland GR-55. In other words, everything is played on guitar synthesizer except the drums.

Some compression and light reverb added during the mixdown."
