"Elby Designs PolyDAC 4-voice polyphonic MIDI-CV converter in very good condition. I purchased this unit a month ago and it is in like-new condition. There is a small locking piece missing from one side on the rear of the unit, however the unit still functions perfectly. Polyphonic mode, two different monophonic modes, 4 MIDI CC outputs as well as Pitchwheel, Modwheel, Aftertouch and Sustain outputs. Comes with brand new 15V power supply for use with US outlets.

I have pasted the manufacturer's description below for your convenience. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

This module not only gives you a four note Polyphonic mode, with selectable assign method. But gives you two more, versatile, monophonic modes. Effectivly replacing not one but four MIDI to CV converters in one easy to use 3U wide Module.

Poly Mode, this gives you Midi to CV conversion for 4 voices, each with its own note CV, Velocity CV and Gate, along with pitchwheel, modwheel, aftertouch, sustain and four user definable Midi CCs. A choice of Polymode allows note steal or note ignore for new notes once all 4 voices are in use. With note steal mode on you can also turn retrigger on or off, which will retrigger the gate for the new note.

Mono 1, this gives you a monophonic Midi to CV converter. The 4 voices all play the same note/gate allowing for some monster stacking of oscillators. A choice of retrigger mode and a 16 note deep note stack. Also with pitchwheel, modhweel, aftertouch, sustain and four usef definable Midi CCs. Again you have the option for retrigger or not.

Mono 2, gives you 4 channels of monophonic Midi to CV conversion. The 4 channels all being consecutive (eg, 4, 5, 6 and 7). In this mode voice 1 uses the pitchwheel, modwheel, aftertouch, sustain and four usef definable Midi CCs. Retrigger sets retrigger on or off for all four channels. Each channel has its own 16 note deep note stack.

Other features

Assignable CVs, so you can choose which MIDI CC's you wish to use to control your modular. By default they are CV-A = 74(Filter cutoff), CV-B = 7(Volume), CV-C = 5(Portamento time), CV-D = 2(breath controller)
The pitchwheel CV affects all 4 note CVs Via the bend range knob. However, If you plug a jack into the Pitch wheel CV socket the pitch CV is no longer applied.
The Modwheel socket is slightly different, Plugging in a standard mono jack will give you the Modwheel CV out.
But, if you plug in a stereo jack in, the TIP gives you the Modwheel CV, the RING then allows you to feed back into all 4 note CVs, allowing a single LFO/VCA to control modulation on all 4 voices.
The MIDI light flash with each Midi message it receives and understands, eg, note on/off will cause it to flash, Midi clock and Sysex will be ignored."

Kaleidoloop Buchla DIY Processing 2013

"Wanted to share one method I've been using to process external audio with the DIY Buchla 200.

I used a Critter & Guitari Kaleidoloop to playback the audio source/loop.

- - - I am really sorry about the distortion caused by the vid cam mic.... unfortunately, I had the monitor speakers too loud while I was recording this example. The actual audio was very clear and full - - - -

Lustobjekt "La Salle Blanche" Record Session

"Back in 1994, Carlos Perón created the 40-minute soundtrack "La Salle Blanche" to "The White Room", a fetish film that achieved wide acclaim in the gothic, fetish and dark wave scene.

The music, which seemed to have immense magic power, was even played at high-end erotic establishments and fetish/BDSM studios. The piece quickly turned from being an insiders' tip to a classic. Rumor has it that some ardent fans even conceived their children to "La Salle Blanche".
Now, 20 years later, the German art project "Lustobjekt" have picked up Perón's original composition.
For more than two years they worked on a completely new version of the classic:
"We had to be very careful transferring the spirit and the magic of the original so it was quite a challenge. Just one mistake and all our efforts would have been a complete waste of time. Nobody could tell us if this experiment would actually work out."

"Lustobjekt" are no strangers to the scene. The art project was founded in Hamburg in 2006 by Cornelius Ohm. Since then they have published original compositions and remixes at irregular intervals. "Lustobjekt" sound like a highly seductive variant of electro pop, based on classical songwriting and somewhat influenced by Kraftwerk, Yello and Donna Summer.

At the mysterious "Hell" studios "Lustobjekt" experiment with special custom-made instruments on new exciting sounds and songs or completely crazy ideas.
Carlos Perón: "Nobody knew what they were up to at that studio. But when I heard their first
sounds I was so excited that I let them have my original files."
Mystical Gregorian chants take their listeners on a journey entering a realm of unfathomable basses, soft synthesizer melodies and lascivious French lyrics sung by a mysterious beauty -- pure, light, almost clinical sounding.

Pain, punishment and domination -- striking words whispered and accentuated by taylor-made percussion instruments. With whips and timpani they guide their listeners through the music while offering comforting safety.

So are you weak or can you resist the magic?

"Tom Bugs made 50 of these instruments. It is/was a fund raiser to help buy a place he plays, the old cinema art space "The Cube" in Bristol, just down the hill from where one of Portishead lives. Its in the town Banksy started out in as a young artist. They succeeded. We need more places like this in the world. Start one where you live. Seriously.

I've been playing out at noise gigs with Tom's designs for a few years, so, here you go: a bit about the first weevil with a sequencer, well not quite what you'd expect, what else would you expect from Tom.
Warning: Turn up your subwoofer and the neighbours will think something awful is happening. Be nice to the SWAT team. They are only doing their job. No harm done. Serve tea and cookies. ; - )"

New AMSynths Athena ARP Odyssey Clone

It looks like AMSynths, maker of various synth clone modules, is coming out with a full ARP Odyssey Clone.

via AMSynths, via electro-music.com

"The Athena Synthesizer is a complete analog synthesizer inspired by the ARP Odyssey. Two VCO’s with ring modulation drive a 4075 style 4-pole Low Pass Filter, which is connected to a final VCA with ADSR and AR envelopes. Noise, S&H and a LFO complete the configuration. The synthesizer is analog with CV inputs for keyboard CV, gate and trigger - there is no MIDI. The Athena is based on one large single PCB which contains the analog circuits and all the sliders and switches. It mounts to a powder coated and silk screened steel front panel designed by AMSynths.

BACH: Aria "Großer Herr" on mobile devices - by DigiEnsemble Berlin featuring Tobias Berndt

Making of: BACH Aria "Großer Herr" on mobile devices - recording session

Published on Dec 29, 2013 DigiEnsemble Berlin·22 videos

"This video is a documentation of the recording process of the aria on 11th of september 2012.

The DigiEnsemble Berlin exclusively uses digital devices to perform the aria "Großer Herr, o starker König" from the famous and glorious Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach, sung by Tobias Berndt.

The final version of the aria: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF9h6W...

The entire sound is created on the digital devices themselves. Therefore, three apps run simultaneously. These are "ThumbJam" as a sampler for all instruments, "Geo Synth" as the instrumental surface and "MIDI In Motion" as a motion controller of volume (Schwehn has provides us with a beta version), connected via virtual midi.

-- Background
For two years, the DigiEnsemble Berlin has explored the opportunities of mobile music. This aria, however, is a very important step in the course of the musicians' quest, due to the high qualitative aspiration and requirements of the piece. The DigiEnsemble Berlin physically premiers the piece together with the singer Roman Trekel at the Berlin Cathedral on the 16th December 2012.

The realization of the musically challenging aria is a culmination for the mission of acquiring virtuous playing techniques with smartphones. Matthias Krebs chose this aria consciously with the intention of accomplishing a signifying step in the ensemble's development. Experts like music professors from the Berlin University of the Arts were consulted to optimize the musical adaption and musical interpretation.
Furthermore, the technical level was enhanced by utilizing a number of elaborate controllers. An important sound quality improvement for this musical interpretation was enabled by a new motion control app called "MIDI In Motion" by Florian Schwehn. In the process of the project, the digital devices became serious musical instruments on a high level of proficiency and differentiation that has not been reached before.

STEREOPING DIY Eurorack Module 'Coloured Feedback Noise' & MIDI CV

Demo for my DIY Eurorack Module 'Coloured Feedback Noise'
Published on Dec 29, 2013 stereoping·28 videos

"I started building some diy-modules for eurorack module systems like the Doepfer. This module makes - besides the standard white noise - also some coloured noise. The latter can be adjusted with an active tone control and has an adjustable feedback-line for more drastical results. If the public interest is big enough i might make it a publicly available diy-assembly-kit."

New STEREOPING channel created. See the link below. There are a number of DIY videos dating back to 2005. I believe these are the first for eurorack.

Demo for my DIY Eurorack Module 'Midi CV Interface'
Published on Dec 29, 2013

"Short and musically quite boring demo of the features of my Eurorack diy Midi-CV-Interface. In case you dont know: such an interface lets you integrate the analogue module system into the digital midi production set. It has - besides Pitch-CV and Gate - simultaeneous outputs for velocity and 2 controllers. It can learn the midichannel (and remember it) and be set to single trigger (held notes will not send another gate) or multiple trigger. It also has a potentiometer to set the glidetime (portamento). A switch lets select if all notes should be glided or just held notes. The latter gives kind of temporary glide like on the tb303. It also has 5 Volt outputs for midiclock and sequencer-start/stop (both not features in this video). More technical info on my homepage. Sorry for the bad video quality, forgot to disable manual focus."
